Intro/Fight:
Nasty reencounter here as spiteful rivals meet in the first round of this Jaguar tournament. You may all recall McCarthy’s efforts to halt Beckinsale’s entrance into the Hall of Fame. Well, both women certainly remember their animosity, and the first few rounds are a repeated CLASH of titans in the center of the ring, with Becks and McCarthy constantly throwing themselves at each other and swinging for the fences. No sense of strategy until the fifth round, when Kate starts swerving a little to avoid punches, whilst catching Jenny across her chin with a hook or two. It works, with McCarthy dazed by a 2nd minute uppercut to the chin, before a follow-up hook DROPS the blonde! Kate tries to dominate for the rest of this fight, but Jenny’s malice is out of control, refusing to go down despite another shutout round in the sixth. Kate soon runs out of steam, and her rival’s determination to end her seems to take over: Jenny running on fumes but it’s allowing her to blast Kate left and right across the ring, showing off her power. Beckinsale gets beaten into the ropes in the eighth, groaning as Jenny pounds away on her waistline, then almost always goes up high to toss her head about. Finally, Kate GOES DOWN, tummy punches starting to add up till she’s blubbering at McCarthy’s feet! It’s a well-earned KO8 victory for the woman scorned!
