Battle of the Latin tempered fighters, Ana De Armas and Selena Gomez share the ring tonight, both their managers wanting fans to be talking about their fighters as both fan favourites battle it out, the Capital One Arena in Washington hosts the fight.
Earlier in the night both women were asked for their thoughts in the backstage area by FCBA Networks reporter Alicia Atout, who smiles as Ana comes over wearing a white dress and matching heels, the Cuban born actress gives Alicia a hug before they get down to business.
Ana tells Alicia "I respect Selena a lot, she has been around a while and I am shocked she hasn't won a title yet, the thing is that respect will be put aside when we step into the ring, we both have a Latin temper so I expect a war is coming, I will dig in my heels and I will emerge on top" a serious look on her beautiful face, fists clenched as she looks to already be thinking about the battle ahead.
Asked about her title aspirations, Ana grins as she answers "well my form isn't exactly going to get me a title shot anytime soon, I am proud I was able to win on the PPV card last month, stringing wins together is what is important, let's get the roll started tonight with my second win in two weeks" looking excited to be back in the ring again.
Later Selena heads to the interview area wearing a navy blue dress with black heel, Alicia wishes her well as they exchange pleasantries, then getting down to business, Selena tells Alicia "it's be awhile since I was on one of these cards, getting to face off with Ana will be a treat since my manager seems to like her, will be fun to show him what he has in his own stable then looking at some Cuban sl*t" grinning as she brushes her hair behind her ears to show off her good looks.
She is asked about the title and Selena tells Alicia "look me and Nina (Dobrev) are both sharing this card, we both should be getting title shots but we are both going to win, then it's up to the champion if they really want to test themselves, lord knows I am sick of waiting around to be on top of the division" an annoyed expression before she heads off, Alicia nodding behind her seeing the resolve she has.
Fighting time, first out onto the stage is Ana with her coach Summer Glau, she blows a few kisses towards the crowd before beginning her walk to the ring, she is wearing a violet sports bra, matching trunks and shoes, black gloves, while her hair is braided, stepping inside the ring, Ana taps her cheeks as she tells herself "you've got this" to get ready.
Selena now appears on the stage with her coach Eva Mendes, they walk down the ring with Eva on Selena's right, Selena staring hard at the ring as she wears a red sports bra with black trim, matching trunks and shoes, black gloves with red thumbs, hair is braided too as she climbs through the ropes into the ring, bouncing on her toes as Eva massages her shoulders.
Referee waves the fighters to them at the center of the ring, intense stare down as both shake their arms to keep them loose, they then return back to their corners after a hard fist bump between them, once everyone is ready the bell rings to start 10 rounds of bantamweight action.
Round 1:
At the bell both fighters circle on their toes testing each other out, trading jabs at first, they have a similar idea when they step in at the same time, throwing a flurry of punches, banging in punches square to the others face, then retreating back to reset and work out how to take control of the action.
After an energetic opening minute, Selena buries in a straight to the chin of Ana, stepping in closer behind it, she whacks in two left hooks to the body, taking a short right hook onto the side of her head, Gomez stands her ground as she lands an uppercut to knock her opponent to her heels, soon crowding her to the ropes to beat her around her torso.
Pushing off Selena, Ana moves away from the ropes but finds Selena hunting her down, both let their hands go when they move in closer, Selena though landing the more crisper shots, this time landing an overhand right around the ear of De Armas, followed by a left uppercut to the body to make her groan out, the bell rings with Selena nodding to her coach, Ana meanwhile taps her cheeks before she heads to her own stool.
Round 2:
Selena looks to start off brightly after the strong opener, burying in a double jab to the face of her opponent, while she pushes Ana back in the opening twenty seconds, she soon misses with a looping right hook, Ana leans out the way then counters with a straight into the nose of Selena to make her back off.
Both fighters starting to work more on the inside, Ana smartly using her left forearm to create space, then lands a short uppercut that snaps back the head of Gomez, who soon finds herself pressed back against the ropes, Ana pressing the top of her head into Selena's forehead as she bangs in a well drilled body attack, forcing the groaning Selena to hold onto her.
Broken up with under a minute to go, Selena takes the fight back to Ana, they nearly clash heads as they slug it out, with Selena landing a short left cross that pushes Ana onto her heels, with Selena being held before she can really open up, foreheads grinding together in the clinch before they are split up, final ten seconds sees them go toe to toe to the delight of the crowd, at the bell both turn on their heels to their corners.
Round 3:
Both try to hold the center of the ring, landing more punches clean as they are not protecting themselves as much as focused on bashing their opponent, Ana lands a jab square into the nose of her opponent, causing Selena to flinch long enough for a right hook to hit her on the jaw, Ana then drives her to the ropes with more punches testing out the stomach of the singer.
After holding onto Ana, Selena looks relieved when they are broken up, coming back on the attack with a double jab into Ana's face, Ana lands a short left hook in reply, with both fighters ending up bodied up, trading on the inside to the delight of the fans, barks and groans heard the fighters.
Ana uses her left forearm to create a gap, burying in two short rights to the body, making Selena step back with a left cross that doesn't deter Ana stepping after her, a jab/straight buries itself through the mitts of Selena to her face, with Selena finding herself back on the ropes again, the round soon comes to an end with Ana jogging to her corner looking at her gloves all fired up, Selena shaking her head not happy with how things going right now.

Trading as they circle, Selena gets her nose busted up with a jab/straight landing on it, causing the claret to flow from her left nostril, Selena steps in barking with effort as she lands two hooks to the body of her opponent, Ana takes a quick step back landing a jab into the nose of Selena to stop her coming after her.
More punches are exchanged as Selena keeps trying to take the fight to Ana, which leads to a jab onto the nose of Selena, after that an overhand right lands behind her ear, SELENA IS BENT OVER AS AN UPPERCUT TO THE BODY SENDS HER DOWN TO ALL FOURS!
Ana jogs to the neutral corner as Eva shakes her head in disbelief, 1...2....3... Selena pushes up to a kneeling position, 4....5... The blood running from her nostrils onto her chin making things look a little gruesome, 6...7...8.. Selena pushes back to her feet, banging her gloves together before raising her fists to show she wants more.
They resume with forty seconds to go, Selena tightening her guard, with Ana stalking after her, throwing punches towards the chest of Selena to try to open her up, with Selena landing single punches as she just wants to get out the round, successful in that as the bell rings, Eva wiping down Selena as she gets patched up, Ana meanwhile doesn't get too excited, she nods to Summer as she gets praised by her coach.
Round 5:
Ana is looking to keep the heat on Selena right away, slinging in jabs as she hunts after her opponent, Selena moving her head more, trying to protect her nose as Ana seems mostly focused on trying to land on it, with Selena catching Ana up the middle with her right cross in counter to Ana's attacks, keeping on the move on the outside part of the ring to stop De Armas closing her down.
A missed straight by Ana leads to a right bashing into her stomach, a left hook then slams across her chin to back off Ana, Selena decides this is her chance, slamming in more punches around the stomach of Ana, forcing her into a neutral corner, where Ana clinches up with her, they grapple along the ropes till they can be broken up.
Final minute sees Selena drilling in more punches around the stomach of Ana, making her grit her mouthpiece as she tries to stand her ground and fire back at Gomez, an uppercut straightens Ana into a left hook, she stumbles two steps to her left, Selena smelling blood in the water forces Ana to the ropes, where the Cuban beauty covers up till the bell rings, Selena showing her toughness to comeback strong after a slow few rounds, Ana meanwhile takes a breath as she sits down, assuring Summer it was just a slip why she stumbled.

Ana puts her right glove over her eyes, 7...8... Ana is just laying there as Summer urges her to get up, 9...10 that falls on deaf ears as Ana is counted out!

Ana meanwhile is checked over by Summer, who helps her sit up, takes her gumshield out and gives her a drink, Ana apologizes for losing this fight, especially one she was on top of for several rounds in a row, Summer reminds her it's a learning experience, don't let it define her going forwards as Summer shares her experience.
Helped to her feet to a cheer from fans, Ana is led out the ring by her coach, she gives the fans a wave with her right glove, head down as she leaves the ring, while she should be proud of her performance in one way, the defeat is clearly what is stuck on her mind, with her trainee status at the League of Mighty Women continuing, she has time to keep on learning and improving within the stable.
In the ring Selena gets her right hand raised in victory, she stands hands on her hips for the cameras, a stern look for them as she looks to be showing the rest of the bantamweight division, I deserve respect! She soon leaves the ring, signing a few autographs for people around ringside.
Then she heads off up the ramp, Selena and Eva all smiles as they talk, feeling like Selena is on her way back to the top, with her toughness surely she will win a title in her career, for now it's all about celebrating the win and hoping her stablemate Nina Dobrev makes it a clean sweep for the Lioness Club stable tonight.
