DANIELLE CAMPBELL VS CIERRA RAMIREZ

Before: “I thought it was my turn to take on Cierra Ramirez. The PLP’s Brec Bassinger has beaten her once, but she’s managed to bet Lucy Hale twice,” Dani Campbell comments. “Now it is my turn to see what I can do with her.”
Cierra wrinkles her nose: “What can you do with me? What you’re going to do is lose. I took care of Hale—twice. All right, I did lose to Bassinger, but wait until the next time we fight—that curly haired blonde is going down. In the meantime, I can take out Campbell. She may have a couple of inches in height on me, but that’s not a big problem. I can take her.”
DC rolls her eyes at this: “I will remind of those words after the fight.”
On Fight Night we find Danielle Campbell entering the ring in a yellow one piece swimsuit with light blue gloves and boots (yellow laces). Brunette hair pulled back in ponytail. Cierra Ramirez is in a sexy black bikini with white gloves and boots (black laces). Dark hair piled on top of her head in a top knot. DC calm and cool. Cierra all eager to get this going. Referee gets through the instructions. Quick tap of the gloves and the fighters go to their corners. DING! The bell rings.
R1: DC advances rapidly on the smaller Cierra jumping quick punching flurries to the head and then the body. Cierra falling from back from pounding, tries to maneuver and employ her jab, but Dani is pressing her close just keeping up a steady drumbeat of punches. Cierra finally covering up to protect her hed after repeated shots to jaw, chin and side of her head. DC finishes round working hooks into Cierra’s abs. Round goes wide to Danielle Campbell.
R2: Cierra jumps right out at the bell and clocks Danielle across the jaw. DC staggered by the blow, lurches off to one side and Cierra moves with her. Cierra pumping in the leather to head and body as the dazed DC seems sluggish to respond. Cierra starts working Danielle towards the ropes and it is at this point DC finally gets her jab going. Cierra’s attack now stalls, but driving hooks to Danielle’s midsection hunching the PLP fighter up and keeps her from being able to do much counterpunching. Cierra in charge as the round ends and wins the round easily.
R3: Danielle seems to recover in this round. She is out promptly and gets in a fast right uppercut in under Cierra’s chin. Cierra’s head snaps back and she stumbles back, gloves trying to protect her head, Dani goes to the body with a sustained attack working over the Cierra torso from breasts to ribs to stomach and back again. Cierra doubled up just trying to protect her head and fire out a few futile jabs as she struggles to keep from being driven into the ropes. Cierra is able to avid the strands, but she takes a lot of punishment to the body in the course of this round. DC wins this one wide.
R4: Pattern seems to be emerging here. Danielle has a good round, then Cierra has a good round. After DC won the 3rd, now Cierra comes out and counterattacks with vigor. Dani is hit hard to the head early and often. Danielle tries to pull back as Cierra comes forward firing away at her. DC able to block most of the head shots but Cierra swiftly shifts punching away at DC’s ribs and abs. Danielle trying to duck away and throw up some counterpunches, but Cierra hangs with her and keeps the pressure going to the bell. Pattern holds as Cierra Ramirez wins this one wide.
R5: Cierra comes storming out eager to seize control of the new round. She swings lustily for DC’s head, but Dani dodging effectively. Then Dani stuffs a rapid series of hooks into Cierra’s midriff. Blows send Cierra falling back, bent over at the waist and trying to catch her breath. Dani letting up as she body punches Cierra into the ropes, Cierra trying to escape, but she blocked in. Cierra then tries to punch her way clear but a cracking combination right/left to the chin throws Cierra into the ropes. Belatedly, Cierra tries to bury her face in her gloves, but DC blasts in two more quick uppercuts to the chin. CIERRA’S KNEES BUCKLE AND DOWN SHE GOES! Cierra lands first on her knees and then topples forward onto her face. Danielle heads for the neutral corner. Cierra starts to stir and then realizes what has happened. She makes a valiant effort to rise, but he body not cooperating.
“EIGHT!...NINE!...TEN!!...YOU’RE OUT!” The referee calls as Cierra is only able to fully stand too late. She hangs her head in dejection.
THE WINNER DANIELLE CAMPBELL DEFEATS CIERRA RAMIREZ KO5!
After: Happy Danielle Campbell can’t wait for the chance to confront Cierra Ramirez and say: “I told you so!”
“Enjoy this while you can,” Cierra snaps.
“Oh, I intend to,” says Danielle who then propels Cierra on a Walk of Same around the ring. Cierra upset and trying to fight back tears of frustration.
“I will make you pay for this!” she warns DC at the end of the Walk.
“I’ve heard that before,” Dani says dismissively and struts away as Cierra apparently curses her in several languages.
Good win for Danielle Campbell who was 1-1-0 for 2022 going into this fight. She and Cierra Ramirez traded rounds until DC got that R5 KO. No doubt a disappointing loss for Cierra who was quite competitive, but still ended up being out-punched in the 5th. Cierra goes to 3-3-0 for the year. We expect to hear good from both fighters in the remainder of the year as they move on from this contest
