Her opponent tonight, on the other hand, receives a standing ovation, as actress Laetitia Casta makes her entrance in a laced up black and red brassier, long white tights and blue gloves on either hand. The Frenchwoman has had a long and illustrious career in the FCBA before hanging up the gloves in 2018. Tonight, she’s agreed to a daring Cougar match with the Head Honcho of the Vixens.
“I love that Kate is willing to meet us here, and it was her idea to showcase what our glorious nation has to offer. I hope the French girls put on their best show tonight, as will I,” Casta says, with a smile and the wave.
Actresses come from across the channel, and are roughly the same height, build and age. They touch gloves in the centre of the ring before returning to their respective corners for the bell. Kate’s wearing her native colours (because of course she is) of a white sports bra and red boxing trunks, giving the referee the nod to start.

ROUND 1:
Both Cougars squares off at opposite ends of the ring, arms up and looking for early openings. With the recent announcement of a tournament and potential title, both girls have more reason to want to win this, and they kick things off with jabs traded to the head. Kate goes off in the first minute with several strong hits to the arms and face, but Laetitia imposes her will right back with a hit to the nose, then another stinger to the chin to drive the Brit back. Frenchwoman shows off her power as she huffs and puffs inwards, continuing to harass Beckinsale across the ring, more and more punches slammed into the arms and not giving her foe any opening to retaliate.
ROUND 2:
Kate fires back in round 2, hounding Laetitia from afar with jabs and crosses that begin to break down the French woman’s resolve. Casta’s moving in harder and faster, but can’t quite pin down Beckinsale so early in the fight, leaving her open to shots to the face. Kate shows off excellent agility for someone close to 50, weaving her head and torso to the side to avoid a wild swing, and then shocking the actress to the chin with a stray hook. Beckinsale’s turn to push her counterpart back, steady pounding to her arms and body as she shoots in lefts and rights to the bell.
ROUND 3:
Laetitia bangs back in the third, knocking a right overhand into the side of Kate’s head in the first minute, dazing her badly. Kate spends another thirty seconds trying to steady herself, back away to regroup, but Casta keeps on her, slamming more hooks into Kate’s torso to earn grunts. The Vixen head honcho is in trouble as she gets driven into the ropes, absorbing more hits and dings to her stomach before managing to clinch up but still holding onto Laetitia’s shoulders as gloves slam into her body beneath. Casta puts her back into this foray, muscling Kate back and creating space for more hooks shoved into arms and belly. Kate grunting as she takes another hit to the base of her chin, which dazes her one more time! A hook across her face seals the deal, sending her off her feet!! It’s a beauty of a KNOCKDOWN for Laetitia Casta! Frenchwoman raising her arms and prancing back and looking like a million francs, leaving Kate to slowly push off her chest and attempt a recovery. Beckinsale gets back up by the count of 8, and shakes the pain off best she can. This fight continues!
ROUND 4:
Kate holds her ground, early defending as she fends off Laetitia’s mad rushes. The French fighter’s rushing her down, trying to end the fight, but each of her hooks is either missing the head or hitting the arms. Brit fighter fights back a minute later, a hook grazing the chin to stop Laetitia’s advance, before shocking her again with a swing to the chest. Laetitia’s heaving, a little shocked and more than a little bothered with her advances repelled and her lungs struggling to keep up. Kate stands her ground in the final minute, and the two big girls trade leather to the face and body, before the Vixen stuns her back with an uppercut cutting through the middle and noise.
ROUND 5:
Laetitia’s switching gears here, holding back and doing her best to protect her chin from attack. Kate rushes in, sensing an opportunity to retaliate, and it works! Her punches are landing hard and fast, lefts and rights snapping into the Frenchwoman’s lips and nose to drive her back and across the ring. Laetitia swings back at the head, trying to fend Kate off, but Beckinsale keeps herself focused, weaving to the side to avoid another hook, before rocking Casta to the side with a fist smooshed to the cheek. Laetitia’s in trouble! She grunts as she hits the ropes, turns around just in time to absorb another overhand punch to the forehead. Casta’s turn to try and clinch up but gets nailed on the belly button with a sick uppercut, Kate ripping in another to the base of her chin, and DOWN SHE GOES!! Laetitia simply slides down the ropes and pools at her foe’s feet! Referee herds Kate off to begin the count, but it ain’t much use! Casta remains on her haunches throughout the ten-count, and the ref finally waves the rest of this fight off! It’s OVER!!

AFTER:
Another loss on the local’s resume, as Casta has to be helped up to her feet minutes later, by none other than Kate herself. The two Cougars share a hug and hearty encouragement, as Beckinsale raises Laetitia’s hand to the cheering crowd.
“She’s a legend, of course,” Kate says later with a big smile. “Who knows? Perhaps we’ll meet again in the upcoming tournament.”
