Camille:
(28, 5’6, FCBA Debut, Free Agent)
BEFORE:
Our final fight on the cards coincides with the World Premiere of the second season of Netflix’s Emily in Paris, a modern comedy show that introduced Lily Collins into the foreign world of croissants, hot chocolate and oversized fancy hats.
To mark the occasion, of course, marketing has deemed it fit to pit their two leading ladies in a head-to-head boxing contest, with Lily Collins set to fight her co-star, Camille Razat, in ten rounds of Bantamweight action.
No one seemed to mind that Razat would be making her boxing debut against an already decorated actress and former Flyweight champion, of course.
“I’m not scared of her. Honestly, she complains too much on the set, anyways,” Razat says first at the press conference. “I wonder how Lily ever became a boxing champion in the first place. This is to promote the show, yes? I’m still going to enjoy punching her in the face!”
Lily doesn’t look too pleased about having her beans spilled in public, shaking her head and rolling her eyes at the other end of the room, before responding:
“Razat’s lucky to be even included in this event. Honestly, no one even knew about her existence until I came along, and this show premiered years ago. I’m happy to be in Paris again, and filming has been great. I love the people of France, though I hope you won’t take it personally when I knock Camille out in the very first round.”
Ladies clearly do NOT like each other, which speaks loads about their acting abilities on-screen. They stare each other down at the centre podium, arms on hips and noses almost touching, but both being mindful over not starting an altercation with the international press watching.
Camille’s about five years younger and several inches taller than Lily, so we’ll have to see if these factors are enough to tip the scales in her favour tonight. Hours later, Razat enters first to a stream of silver fireworks and French pop music. The actress has let her blonde hair down and loose, raising both hands into the air as she strides down to the ring in a white sports bra top and short black tights. Lily’s entrance is as grand, the Vixen shadow-boxing on stage before letting that white shawl fall off her shoulders. She’s looking as toned and fit as ever, accentuated by her simple one-colour black bikini, her dark brown hair tied upwards into a battle bun. She’s donning blue gloves later in her corner.
Referee calls them both to the centre, but neither girl offers to touch gloves. They’re eager to get started in their respective corners, and with a wave of the hand, there goes the bell and HERE WE GO with ten rounds of Bantamweight action!
ROUND 1:
Lily shows the newcomer how it’s done, circling in fast and immediately sending punches into her arms. Camille has to deal with the pressure early, moving fast and keeping her arms locked over her face best she can. But even then, Lily’s punches are sneaking past her arms and hitting her in places she doesn’t expect: a jab to the forehead, another one-two combo slamming into the body, before a final hook stuns her to the side of the head. Camille just got rocked about in her debut, and hasn’t quite yet got the urge to fight back. In between the one-way action, Camille squeezes in a jab or two into the lips to earn her some pause, but it’s not enough to edge out a win. Bell rings and Collins takes it wide, as expected.
ROUND 2:
Camille fights back, shooting practised jabs into Lily’s face to shock and awe her early. The French girl has got some range and bite to her punches, and doesn’t allow Collins to come close enough to wail upon her like last time. Razat shows off her speed as she crunches another right hand into the cheek, drawing a grunt from the Vixen’s lips. Lily growling, finally keeping away, rubbing her face with one hand and the other still pawing outwards. Camille smiles, getting the hang of this boxing thing. But Collins returns fire in the third minute with her own fast jabs to the head, then mixing a low, lunging uppercut or two right into the French actress’ body. Camille gets the air knocked out of her lungs as another glove packs into the centre of her stomach, with her right hand still reaching out at Lily’s face but never landing. She takes the second round by a close margin, but Lily makes her pay a price for it.
ROUND 3:
Lily back on the prowl, moving too fast for Camille to catch up to her and at the same time, shocking her to the head with plenty of jabs and sudden straight hands. Camille’s got the slight size and reach advantage though, responds blow-for-blow when Lily tries to stick yet another jab into her face only to get caught by a return jab to the cheek. Razat, looking like she’s got fighting spirit, tries to march right back into the fray in the second half to brawl with the veteran Vixen. Lily grunts as she takes another hit to the side stomach, yet another hook blasting her to the arms to send her back into a defensive pattern. All that lead evaporated by the time the bell rings, and Collins has to be content with a close edge.
ROUND 4:
Camille on the prowl, heartened by Nell Tiger Free’s almost-rout of the former Flyweight champion last year. She comes in with purpose, jabbing at Lily’s head and then lunging wild for her lean body, hoping to score early and lucky. Lily’s forced to scramble and adapt, keeping herself away and her arms locked over her head in case of a lucky hook screaming in at the last minute. Collins takes several shots to the body before scoring a left-right combo of her own straight into the French woman’s nostrils, deterring her from coming in all the way to brawl. Razat keeps up the winning pressure, however, keeps chasing Lily across the ring and towards the ropes with fast combos that end with hooks. Lily’s beating herself up at the bell, looking disappointed with that abysmal performance, whereas Camille is all-smiles and pumping one of her hands high into the air. This fight might be going the distance, with neither woman willing to give ground…
ROUND 5:
Lily soaks up more punishment in the fifth, lacking the power to keep Camille off her case. The French actress is perhaps taking out all her frustrations on Collins the actor when she sure as hell would have liked to punch the living daylights out of Lily’s on-screen persona. She surprises Lily again with fast overheads that bypass the arms and sink straight into her eye and nose, then sends her stumbling to the side with a follow-up hook to the arms, looking for that elusive chin. Lily’s counter strategy is to move faster and keep her face hidden behind closed arms, but that just leaves Razat open to plunging fists straight into her stomach and belly, further drawing the air and fight from her frame. Bell rings and well, Lily’s still standing, though she’s breathing hard and wondering how this fight has managed to run away from her in such a short expanse of time. We’re heading into the second half of this fight, and Collins needs to dig deep if she wants to maintain the Vixens’ thus far perfect score against the local populace.
ROUND 6:
Camille’s corner must be encouraging their girl to rush in and finish the job, as she CHARGES at the bell, with fire in her eyes and nostrils snorting like a bull on steroids. She makes a beeline for Lily, and begins swinging at her head once she gets in range. Lily, however, has been in tougher and more nail-biting scenarios, dodges to the side of a wild hook and then ducks under a follow-up swing, plugs Razat in her body several times before almost taking her head off with a return uppercut to the base of her jaw. Razat looks dazed but STILL trying to keep herself in the pocket to brawl, and the two girls end up clinching multiple times on the ropes, twisting and shouting in each other’s arms and their fists plugged into the body and sides. Razat tries to shove the leaner girl back for a knockout blow, but again the wiley Collins is just too fast at this stage, ducking under the hook before BLASTING her right back with a upwards angled hook to the chin, which DAZZLES the blonde! OH NO!! Razat’s looking shaky, eating more and more blasts across the cheek, until she gets TOSSED off to the side, and collapses near the ropes!! One hell of a brawl back there, with Lily coming out on top! The referee is hesitant to end this last match on the card by declaring yet another win for the Away team, but Camille looks utterly spent, barely pushing back up to all fours before the final count of 10 is reached! There’s the bell and that’s it! It’s OVER!!
Official Decision: Lily Collins defeats Camille Razat via KO6!
AFTER:
Lily stands tall and proud, in victory, a sly smile crossing her face before she leans back on the turnbuckle and raises her hands high. Yet another Brit beats the motherland’s finest, and Camille has to be saved moments later when Collins attempts to drag her up to her knees for some tummy-worship.
The Home crowd is of course not having it, with the French spectators famously highly sensitive to any and all bullshit. Even before Lily approaches the prone Razat, they’re up-in-arms and tossing beer cans and glass bottles into the ring, trying to fend off the British fighter and protect one of their own.
Lily has to be saved herself, almost, when a bottle cracks into the nearby turnbuckle, with several security staff already rushing into both the crowd and ring to restore order.
Later, after Razat is taken backstage and given some time to recuperate, she grins weakly at the camera, still flashing that gorgeous smile. “Lily’s overrated. Oui. That’s what they say, no? Both on-screen and in the ring. I almost took her down multiple times, and with a little more practice, who knows? I’ll defeat her next time.’
Lily, of course, acting all dismissive and haughty, already upbeat for the Emily in Paris Season 2 Premiere After Party due to take place in a couple of hours. “Camille can stuff it, that’s all I have to say, like she stuffed my gloves in her face for six rounds back there. We don’t have to like each other, but we’ll still do our best to make an entertaining show for our fans to enjoy. See you at the party later!’ Lily winks, before heading off to the showers.
