Intro:
Third fight of tonight in the sixth round of this years Diamond Boxing Tournament, Kate Bock (2-3) has slowly been building momentum after a terrible start to the tournament, can she play spoiler for Charlotte McKinney (5-0) dreams, with the American beauty in a great position to win this tournament, just don't lose her two remaining fights and she will hold the trophy above her head.
This time the fights are on Rio De Janeiro's Ipanema Beach, so the video camera has been moved to the beach with a red towel to mark the area, both women as always given a chance to give their thoughts before the bout, get a feel also for where they are going to battle in twenty four hours time.
First to speak was Kate wearing a white blouse and bikini bottoms, she sits on the towel with a smile, relaxing as she says "I definitely need to do more beach boxing, even just for moments like this before the bout, soak up some rays and maybe catch a few z's" laughing a little to herself.
"But guess down to business, I get to fight one of the two remaining undefeated fighters in the field, lucky me I guess, if you asked me two months ago how confident I am, I'd probably lie that I was going to break my slump, truth is now I am back on the winning path, I am not going to give that up so easily, Charlotte has shown she is a top fighter, beating Emma (Corrin) I know first hand is a hell of a feat, problem for you is I can beat you, deep down you know it and I bet that has you nervous, I'll be ready to knock you out Charlotte if you show even a hint of weakness" raising her right fist to the camera with a smile, happy she has made her point, Kate stands up and heads off.
Charlotte now heads onto the beach wearing a red one piece to channel her inner "Baywatch" babe, a big beaming smile as she stands facing the camera, Charlotte says "two fights to go, two wins is all I need, I know it isn't exactly the easiest pairing I could finish on, Kate you have really stepped up these past two months, found whatever was missing earlier in the tournament, I will happily bring you back to earth with a bump, you are not stopping my rise to the top" pointing with her right hand at the camera.
She then flexes her arms as she says "to you Robyn (Lawley), you might be like Godzilla but I hope you watch what I do to Kate, you are next and I can't wait to fight you, you ain't stopping me you big ass bytch" grinning as she lowers her arms, then heads off the beach.
Fighting time, the ring posts have been set into the sand, the sand itself raked flat though that will quickly change, two sets of bleachers have been set up, the judges table has the water behind them, with a DJ belting out music where the fighters are to come past to head to the ring.
Onto the beach comes Kate to the tune "Toxic" by Britney Spears, she walks to the ring with her coach following, a relaxed look to her even as she is faced with one of her toughest fights this year, she climbs into the ring wearing a red bikini with white trim, red gloves, her hair tied into a ponytail as she gives the crowd a few kisses blown their way, then gets serious as she bounces on her toes.
Here comes Charlotte with "Cherry Licorice" by the Felice Brothers playing, her old Asylum theme coming back for maybe one night only, she waves to the crowd on her way to the ring, getting inside the ropes soon wearing a navy blue bikini, matching gloves as her hair is tied into a ponytail, fist bumping her coach with a nod, Charlotte looks ready to get her sixth straight win tonight.
Referee waving both women together at the center, looking each other over with a smile, clearly confident they can overcome their "Sports Illustrated" rival, they fist bump with a nod to their opponent, showing respect before jogging to their corners, the bell rings to start 10 rounds of welterweight action.
Round 1:
Dancing around the center of the ring looking comfortable with the sand under their toes, Kate is looking to keep Charlotte at range, while already the American is trying to move in closer, banging in several good body shots before taking a right cross to her cheek.
A double jab smacks Charlotte to the top of her head, Kate moves back as Charlotte swings in an overhand right, landing a counter straight into the face of the smaller fighter as she starts to establish her reach, Charlotte tightening her guard up now, not wanting to ship too much punches this early in the fight, Kate looking relaxed as she dances side to side throwing out combos, not all her punches land but she is scoring with the judges.
Final minute of the round sees Charlotte come out her shell more, landing a nice straight punch into the body of her opponent, again as she moves in closer she is being clipped around her head by cross punches, the beautiful Canadian isn't going to give her a free pass to fight on the inside, both landing some meaty punches at midrange as they work, the round soon ends with Kate looking pleased how that went, Charlotte not looking too worried, simply sitting on her stool staring at Kate.
Round 2:
Trading more straight punches now, Kate is giving Charlotte an early headache with a mix of her reach and mobility, Charlotte taking punches to her face and chest as she looks to move in tighter to really unload on her lanky opponent, needing to move her head more to dodge.
After a bad opening minute for McKinney, she feints with a jab and crouches under one that comes her way, on the inside now she starts to whack away at her body, looking to cut down the taller woman, Kate needs to pull Charlotte into a front headlock, stopping her as the referee has to break them up.
As they resume fighting Charlotte isn't letting Kate off the hook so easily, getting inside again as she drives Bock into a corner, landing an uppercut to knock back the head of Kate, who again has to hold onto Charlotte, they are split up again with the bell soon bringing an end to the round, Charlotte taps her gloves together looking psyched up for this, Kate nodding as she sees that, knowing Charlotte is going to be coming hard at her through this fight.
Round 3:
Stepping back out, it's a scruffy start to the round as Charlotte nearly headbutts Kate trying to drive to the instead, Kate nudging back her opponent with her left, landing a straight into the face of Charlotte to force her back a step, Kate getting her rhythm going again as she to hammer in more clean shots to snap back the head of the smaller fighter.
Herding around Charlotte near the ropes, Kate is starting to lay in some more heavy leather after using her footwork in the opener to great effect, switching things up seems to have McKinney a little off base, with Charlotte covering up again, trying to find a way to land more then single punches out her guard.
The opportunity presents itself after Charlotte parries a straight aside, stepping in with a right cross to the boobs of Kate, now it's Bock's turn to be caught off guard, a left hook slams across her cheek as she drops her guard a little, Charlotte driving back Kate onto the ropes, head down as she goes back to the body, the round ends with both women locking eyes, referee needing to order them back to their corners again as things are getting tense between them, jogging back to their corners to get cleaned up.
Round 4:
Kate again starts off strong as she smacks Charlotte to the top of her head with more straight shots, looking like a matador fighting a raging bull, a feint throws her off as McKinney slips a straight to land a short right to the abs of the Canadian, a left cross then slamming across the cheek of Bock to turn her head.
Fighting around the ring with Charlotte pressing the action, Kate landing a few good cross punches, but an uppercut catches her on her chin, sending Kate reeling back towards the ropes, Charlotte starting to show off her power, pinning Kate into the ropes as she slugs away, Kate grabbing a hold of Charlotte, stopping her onslaught for now as blood runs from the bottom lip of Kate from a cut.
Resuming after being split up, Kate is boxing more defensively, trying to hold off Charlotte, she is pressed back into a corner, an uppercut knocks back the head of Kate again, she is looking worried as Charlotte is starting to catch her mor cleanly with power shots up till the bell, Kate shaking her head as she walks to her corner looking rattled, Charlotte tapping her toes in the sand as she sits on her stool, looking like she is trying to contain her excitement at hurting Kate.
Round 5:
Out they come with Kate not looking as sure as she did when she stepped into the ring, her movements and punches look more tense, Charlotte feints with a left to dip down under a jab, landing a sharp right into the breadbasket of Bock to make her groan, a left hook then lands flush on the chin of Kate, who stumbles back a step, ANOTHER UPPERCUT CATCHES KATE ON HER CHIN! THIS TIME SHE IS KNOCKED ONTO HER BACK!
Charlotte taps her gloves together saying "yes" to herself as she looks at Kate, jogging to the neutral corner all smiles, 1...2...3... Kate groans as she covers her face with her left glove, 4...5...6... Not much more movement from Kate, 7....8... She just lays on the sand, 9...10 getting counted out!
Winner Charlotte McKinney KO Round 5
After:
A stunning knockout victory keeps Charlotte right in the mix for the Diamond Boxing Tournament trophy, she mounts the bottom turnbuckle of the corner she is in, flexing her arms for her fans as ringside, who applaud and whistle her, jogging back to her corner afterwards to give her coach a kiss on their cheek.
Kate needs help to sit up, she holds her chin as she groans, the streak of wins ending with her staring at the sand, not much said between Kate and her coach, instead she is helped over to her stool so she can be cleaned up, tapping her gloves together annoyed at how she got buzzed around the forth round.
Over comes Charlotte to check on her, things are a little tense as Kate keeps her answers short, but they do bump fists to show respect, Charlotte returning to her corner as Kate asks for help out the ring, the beaten fighter stepping out the ring heading to the back, stewing with herself over this result.
The winner on the other hand gets her right hand raised, this win has taken Emma Corrin off the board for winning the tournament, now Charlotte only has Robyn Lawley to worry about whether Robyn wins or loses tonight, a straight shootout between the two hard hitters.
All Charlotte cares about right now is blowing a kiss for her supporters, thanking them through the nearest camera as she is all smiles, any doubts about her quality should be ended by now, as she leaves the ring to head off, Charlotte certainly is making a firm argument to be seen as the best free agent in celebrity boxing right now, if she can win this tournament then she surely wins that argument.
