TESS VALMORE
The May PPV resulted in a very rare occurrence. In fact, in the history of the FCBA, it may have never happened. All four linear titles changed hands. Dove Cameron is the new Unified Flyweight Champ. Lili Reinhart now sets at the top of the bantams. Nina Agdal reigns over the lightweights and Brooklyn Decker leads the Welterweights. Three of the four new champions have never held a title before. Only Brookly Decker has previously held a title. The champion’s losses ended winning streaks. Hudgens’ win streak ended at ten, Olsen at sixteen, Winstead at six and Righetti also at sixteen. I think it will be a long while before we see win streaks as long as sixteen. Right now, Lawley has won eleven straight, but If she steps up in competition, I don’t think she will reach sixteen. If she does I will have to eat a lot of crow but I have done that before.
In the welters, the main threats to Decker’s championship reign are Kate Upton and Tahnee Atkinson. Decker has split four fights with Atkinson and Upton holds a 2-1 lead over Decker. Upton pretty much eliminated Gillan with her win over Gillan in the PPV. Rhoda has had a rough time recently losing three of her last five, one of which was a title fight. Certainly we can’t overlook Godzilla. Lawley has won eleven straight including wins over
Atkinson and Kostek. The rest of her wins were over basically good opponents. She is going to have to be dealt with sooner or later and now is a good time. From now on, if a champion ignores her, she will be accused of ducking. Lawley is five inches bigger than Decker, but that could the case for of most of Lawley’s probable opponents. That might be a hard choice for Decker
Nina Agdal is the new champ. I think her choice for her first defense comes down to two. I have to admit the names I could go the rest of my life without hearing are Kardashian-Jenner. Well. now comes Kylie Jenner. She has won her last seven. She started the year with a win over her sister Kendall and in her fight in the last PPV she downed Taylor Swift. In between has beaten Jennifer Lawrence, Teles and Lima. I think her only rival for the next title fight is Taylor Hill. Hill has won eight of her last ten. In her last two fights, she has beaten DiDonato, and Huntington-Whiteley. In keeping with the Front Street strategy, the rest of her wins have been over average
and a couple over-the -hill fighters. Hill is a far better fighter than her competition shows. Frankly, while Jenner is a hot fighter now, I think Hill has the best chance of beating Agdal
Reinhart now holds the bantam belt. I think the Wiz likes to spread title matches around with no one getting more than one match a year. That eliminates Kosarin, Rose and Larson from title matches. Bennett won’t get a title match because The Wiz doesn’t do intra-stable matches. Naomi Scott just lost to Lind in an upset. That leaves Bella Thorne and Shay Mitchell. Bella Thorne who has won six of her last seven and is the new JMD champion. Unfortunately for Mitchell, she lost to Lili in April. Now the Wiz could well drop down out of the top ten, but I think the most obvious opponent and probably the most dangerous fighter left in the top ten is Bella Thorne
For some reason I can’t get my head around Dove Cameron being the new flyweight champ. Maybe it is that dull picture on her profile. Well anyway, she has eliminated Winter. Emma Roberts and Hale since she has beaten them already this year. Bassinger and Lowndes lost in the recent PPV. Some might mention a fighter whose initials are KS. I am barred anything bad about her, but I can’t say anything good. Michelle Williams and Camila Mendes could be choices as both have beaten Cameron this year. It looks to me like Megan Fox is the top choice. She did hold the title last year and has beaten Minka Kelly, Michelle Williams and Mendes in the last year plus a couple of days. Of course as with all the linear divisions, it’s the champs choice
