Before: "Obviously we want to set the tone on the 'Originals' girls," Shay explains in prefight. "They're a cheap knock off of Vampi D, but they're still a continuation of that worn-out brand: it's important to show that losing is their tradition - ESPECIALLY if they're in there with the mighty PLP!"
"Mighty!" Claire snorts, exasperated. "What the Pretty Little Quitters are now is SURROUNDED. The time of the Liars is over - we will crush their brand, and that's why I'm going right at Shay - their biggest and strongest. Break her, and the rest are just mop-up!"
Shay in royal blue lace bra; sporty bikini bottoms in wide horizontal bands of blue and grey; white gloves; long black hair in soft, glossy curls. Claire in white bikini top/bottoms in shades-of-blue ocean swirls; white gloves; hair in clean Dutch braid.
During r1: Romping trade in sweeping hooks drops Shay to her buns at the open: gloating Claire does a fun little marching-step around her fallen foe, hands on hips, head tossing proud. 8 count sets Shay on shaky pins at ropes: Claire with tons of time to step-to and work. Blonde girl batters her brunette via bashing, gleeful wide lefts and rights...Shay sputtering, hands outstretched, repeatedly knocked and clouted into ropes. Strong legs hold her up, but it's a dreadful, one-side pasting Claire to Shay - Mitchell woozy, shabby on her stool, oily curls in her eyes as trainer goes to work.
R2: Claire business-like: shoulders hunched, jabbing her way into Shay; hooking her chin in tight; pumping short right hands to golden-brown gut. Mitchell grunting, grimacing, but answering: she's in the trench with Holt, bumping shoulders, hooking tits, trying to short-chopping right hands to chin. Bruising slugfest competitive, but it's Claire gradually slugging Shay to ropes...brunette forced to cover up earmuff, suffering as blonde girl lays claim to those ribs via whirling, hamhanded lefts and rights out wide. Bell: Claire lost in a body-punching haze - ref has to pull her off stricken Shay.
R3: Shay trying to jab her way to distance, but compact Claire weave-steps close, hooks out of the crouch - sending Shay reeling to ropes early. Mitchell shocked, rocked again...she's forced into desperate earmuff while sturdy blonde-girl squares away, unleashes. Healthy beating administered - Claire unopposed, working thick in under either Shay elbow, then coming up top to clout her ears. Mitchell sputtering, whining, sliding along ropes...she's just sponging it up, counting on her legs to absorb Claire's methodical shellack. Bell: Claire BEAMING as the pushes off smouldering Shay...blonde girl romping out to a firm lead through 3.
R4: Shay grim off her stool, standing her ground, feeding Claire a heavy left jab as blonde girl wades in. Leads to trade in hooks and jabs as girls work from closed-stances - each showing the other her left flank. Range is a little farther out - Shay able to out-jab her quarry; drop the odd right hand over Claire's left shoulder, smiting blonde-girl behind left ear. Holt baby-stepping out of her stance at times, getting moved by Shay's weight of shot through 4.
R5: Shay continues to right her ship. Girls fight flat footed/left flanks presented - exploring each other with left jabs and trying for hooks. Shay comfy at the range, systematically punishing Claire in the exchanges: Holt's occasional right hand curling short as Shay weaves away; Shay's right hand generally pounding through to blonde head. Claire taking the blows well, but she's getting picked apart - trainer reminds her to fight off Shay's chest during break.
R6: Shay growing in confidence - jabbing Claire into a peek-a-boo front midring, letting blonde girl walk in, then pushing her off by her shoulders. Holt occasionally getting into her range, but not punching: Shay easy-breezy in her stance, feeding Claire hurt, pushing her to proper distance, then resetting on her. Bell: Shay offers her fans the first trace of a hopeful smile...she puffs hard-working dark curls out of her eyes, happy in her work.
R7: More of the same as Claire continues to cooperate, letting Shay extend on her punches. Holt stubborn, but breaking down under the consistent shelling...blonde girl tic-tock weaving side to side in earmuff, trying to encroach, but not working enough when she penetrates. Shay belting away to glory - ramming home the jab; crossing long, strong rights; pumping left hands to tummy when Claire's in close, then pushing her back outside where she belongs. First visible tremors of hurt quivering in Claire's thighs and backside this round...she's taking a hell of a punch, but they're adding up through 7.
Camera catches a vexed-looking Nina D and Candi A sitting with concerned frowns and crossed arms. Contrast that with the upbeat faces of PLL girls in the audience, clearly loving Shay's work on Claire.
R8: Claire with the same, sullen approach - weaving her way forward, but slowly - her head and shoulders easily tracked by Shay's thudding left. Mitchell pounding blonde-girl on the way in, then tightening up to feed her right uppercuts/left hooks at closer ranges...heavy shelling blasts punch Claire into a crossed-arm front, forcing her back outside where the jab can once again locate her. Midway through, it's all too much...groggy Claire pushing her way forward through Shay's organized punching patterns: crisp one-two bounces off Holt's guard on approach; thumping left beats blonde tummy; happy left hook curls to mouth as Claire's opening up to punch and BLONDE GIRL DOWN! Shay yelping with glee, jogging away with hands high, her heels kicking her own buttocks as Claire sits up on a puddle of shock...answer knockdown puts Mitchell firmly in front, as blonde girl rallies shabby off the deck!
R9: CLAIRE BATTERS SHAY! Holt a motivated beauty off the canvas...she storms Shay's gates midring, swinging rights and lefts over the top, sweeping brunette to ropes. Mitchell aghast - she thought she'd be cleaning up this round: Clairesquares away and hands Shay the beating Holt should have been executing all night. Rousing stuff - Claire pushing her head in between Shay's mitts; palming Shay's hips to keep her buns in ropes, then romping the punches to her. Nothing fancy - blonde girl putting her curves and beef to work, thumping away on things

Down the stretch...rambunctious Claire just wading in through the front door: Shay braced on right (back) leg, turns into a crashing left hook, catching blonde girl bingo on the chin...HOLT GOES DOWN! Stupendous punch picture-perfect...blonde out on her feet, crashing onto her face as her legs lock uptight...she's asleep at Shay's feet as the ten count passes Claire by. KO10 in final minute, Shay Mitchell!
After: Jumping, hugging celebration in the seats as PLL girls celebrate Shay's crushing victory. Mitchell slightly dazed from punishment, bewildered and relieved at the sudden reversal...she cruises past several times as Claire is rolled to her back and brought gently round - brunette staring in fascination at the damage done. "It's so great," Shay beams in postfight. "Taking their best girl out is the best result we could have hoped for. It's a huge blow to 'Originals' prestige and puts our foot on their throats where it belongs!"
