BEFORE: Pouts and frowns all around - Kelly not exactly the head of Nina's fan club. "Nina's got everything she ever wanted handed to her on a silver platter," Kelly scowls in prefight. "She's spoiled, she's pampered, and she's headed smack into a blonde brick wall called Kelly Carlson! Look at her; look at me...she's thin and sickly - I'm very sturdy and built strong. I'm gonna give this kid a dose of cold hard truth in that ring - something she should have had a long time ago!"
Nina brushing off Kelly's venom in rebuttal: "Whatever...I'm not the slender little thing you guys saw in Season 1 Vampire Diaries," Dobrev insists. "I've added sinewy muscle; my cardio's off the charts now...if anyone's headed for a dose of truth, I'd say it's the aging never-was Kelly Carlson!"

Kelly gritting her teeth, swinging the wide right sidearm across Nina's breasts; snap-hooking her tummy. Methodical, withering stuff for two minutes when Nina's rigid left digs at Kelly's liver, paralyzing blonde legs! Carlson crying out, cringing, turning away and taking a knee...Nina stoked - face brightening at the sight of hobbled blonde. Carlson up, taking a weepy 8: Nina loping back in clean up. Dobrev with that peculiar semi-straight-arm delivery, her hands at her sides as she whirls the punches to Kelly, hunting for liver, ribs, tummy. Carlson groaning, sliding to her right butt-on-ropes...she's trying to fit Nina for straight right hands to breasts or tummy, but there's too much Dobrev in the mix. BLONDE GIRL DOWN! Digging left uppercut finds Kelly's solar plexus as Nina dips left shoulder, arches back to get up in there snug...poor Carlson spilling off to her right, dropping down to all fours. Kelly beats the count shabby, whimpering and sniveling...huge 10-7 first has Dobrev high-fiving her corner during the break!
R2: Nina chasing; Kelly wilting. Kelly's face twisted in gut-pain, eyes angry/pleading as she retreats along ropes. Nina frisky, hopping to stay square with Kelly - whirling the palm-down mitts to tortured blonde ribs and tummy - Dobrev clearly unafraid of receipts as cringing Kelly's too hurt to punch. Bell to bell clean up for Nina - she's lashing Kelly's torso, but also by the end, she's straightening out that right hand, spearing it down into Kelly's midsection to sit blonde girl hurt in ropes.
R3: Plucky Kelly shakes off hurt, makes some veteran adjustments. She closes stance, points left shoulder at Nina: right hand at chin, left at hip. Kelly using the up-jab from this stance, fending Nina off, forcing Dobrev to lift her hands up. Kelly pivoting left around batting left hooks up top: Nina covering up to block, but blonde girl's turning brunette right flank, opening up dangerous angles. By the final minute, Kelly's putting spank-spank combos together, displaying nifty handspeed in compact patterns.
R4: Bitter two way fighting as frowning Nina tries to reclaim initiative. Kelly clever in the exchanges...sliding back in her stance, walking Nina into combinations to breasts and tummy, then hooking her chin off the back (right) foot. Dobrev walking through it - pawing her jab to Kelly's chest, then whirling the palm-down right to blonde-girl left-side lats - good stiff licks both way put pained looks of discomfort on both faces. Nina applying good rangy pressure, but not cutting off the ring...Kelly able to walk Nina into touches, turns her, then lure her forward again as stubborn young brunette plows forward.

Kelly punched to a halt, forced to trade: trade she does - with vigor - rolling punches with that lead left shoulder, then catching Nina hooks and stubby right hands in receipt. All even till late: STIFF Dobrev right hand kisses off Kelly's chin, sending blonde girl stumbling/blinking to her right. Kelly's hurt, wobbly butt: she covers up earmuff, grimacing as Nina steps-to, straightens out her arms, and whirls the mitts to blonde waist, beating poor Kelly into cringing paralysis at bell.
R6: KELLY POURS THE HURT TO NINA! Dobrev: grimacing, butt-in-ropes, eyes distressed. Kelly: snarling, dukes shoulder-high...she jab-jabs to knock at Nina's face, then stoops to POUND that straight right hand off Dobie's flat gut. NINA GOES DOWN! Groaning descent for Neens...she turns to her right, drops to knees-and-elbows in gutshot agony, cringing and whining as Kelly leaps away shouting "YAH-HOO! YAH-HOO!" Nina up rickety, crying...she slumps against ropes in tight earmuff, holding elbows tight to her ribs as ON COMES KELLY! Carlson viciously to the body right/left/right - beating Nina in behind her elbows. Short right uppercut skids off the top of Nina's bowed head; digging left hook fits in snug behind right elbow; extra left hook bites into trunks, taking Nina just inside right hip-bone. Dobrev moans in pain, reaching for Kelly with outstretched arms: neat, tight, clipping little right uppercut chips Nina's chin and DOWN SHE GOES! Dobrev stumbling forward, rolling onto her back, writhing in chin-punched devastation...Kelly jogs all jugs a-jumpin' to neutral corner, face bright with bully's glee. NINA D BEATS THE COUNT! Hurt-but-plucky brunette manages to refuse the KO, but OH she's a shabby wreck. After 8, Kelly wades back in all Ho-ho-ho and GOOD LORD, THE RACK ATTACK! Poor Nina helpless as blonde girl stacks her up and goes all-in to jug...compact Kelly practically frothing at the mouth, pumping and chugging away short lefts and rights in hup-hup combos, hammering the pride of the CW back to the stone age! Bell: Kelly still in there plundering - Nina drooping against ropes, head lolling back to bare her throat...ref has to pull little blonde savage off her victim as Carlson cackles in triumph! Anybody's fight as Kelly gets the knockdowns back!
R7: Hurtin' beauties slouch to midring - faces pained, lips curled off teeth. Nina dipping left shoulder/digging left uppercut to Kelly's midsection, then turning over a swinging right across proud blonde jug. Kelly with a swiping right to jug/straight left across Nina's mouth. Angry eyes dimming...fighters staggering on the spot, each just trying to dig in and slug. Girls lean forward, pushing and knuckling each other, then getting off - bodies and faces tanned in truding two-way. Down the stretch, Nina's will prevails...she's got Kelly open-mouthed, backing up in stupor - willowy brunette just steppin'-to and throwing mindless at bell.
R8: Same plodding aspect, same haggard, exhausted faces as girls step-to. Desperate two-way punching - Kelly keeping her elbows in, chopping short-n'-tidy across Nina's breasts and mouth; Nina a little rangier - slopping wide punches upside Kelly's head or flanks, often wrapping an arm around blonde skull to drag Kelly off balance. Kelly separates herself late - hunching her shoulders, lathering left/right shoe-shines hup-hup-hup to brunette breadbasket...Nina gasping, stooping forward all breathless and gutshot at bell.
R9: Grim, trudging stuff as girls stumble together all sleepy/cranky/angry - each just trying to fit the other for hurt. Right uppercut to midsection gets Kelly in trouble midway through...face pinched, she turns away to her right at ropes, walking away from snarling Nina. Dobrev staggering after Kelly - left hook taking blonde girl on her left hip from behind - then Nina's atop Carlson, pushing her into ropes. Kelly weepy, but punching criss-cross left/rights off the ropes...she pastes Nina's face, dims Nina's eyes, puts Nina wobbly-butt! DOBREV now reeling on the spot, blinking and stunned: right hand upside the head knocks Nina to her right, causing her to stumble into ropes as Kelly reverses position. Carlson pushing Nina ragdoll into ropes, then going at her hup-hup-hup...compact-punching blonde girl crouching in close, rolling her shoulders and beating the stuffing out of Nina's tummy to bell!
R10: Badly depleted girls walking to midring with hands on hips - only bringing dukes up when within range. Knocking left jabs from Kelly PIK-PAK off Nina's face, leaving her drowsy. Nina's hands at chest...she's stepping in, dropping the right all the way to hip-height, then scything the right uppercut diagonally across Kelly's torso left hip to right shoulder. Staggering clockwise rotation...girls mouthbreathing, crying from exhaustion. Midway through - Nina too tired to hold hands up - she's just carving for Kelly's body with either mitt off the thigh, slashing up and across...random chance sees her cut a left hand across Kelly's solar plexus and BLONDE GIRL HURT! Kelly sobbing aloud, hugging her body, turning her back to Nina and doubling over. Kelly's knees bennnnding as she fights to deny the knockdown...Nina moves in from behind - left hand flat on Kelly's shiny lower back, right hand POUNDING away at blonde right flank! Nina mindless - just belting Kelly palm-down rights as poor blonde girl's trying to creep away and BLONDE GIRL DOWN! Kelly dropping to knees-and-elbows, pretty face tilted up as she bursts into tears...Nina howling in exaltation, lifting exhausted arms high as ref pushes her away. Kelly beats the count blubbering - entire body trembling as she lolls against ropes...simple job of work for Nina to wade in close, left hand on Kelly's right shoulder while crowding blonde girl against ropes, right hands punch-punch-punching away at helpless Carlson tummy-meat. Flat PIK PAK PIK noise of Nina's small glove; Kelly's butt in ropes as she whines in protest, unable to get out from under. Bell: Nina still pounding gut - ref pulls her off and this one goes to the cards. Comes back one point duke, Nina Dobrev!
After: Kelly bleak, devastated as Nina's hand is raised...Dobrev symbolizing everything Carlson hates, and now she's lost a fight to the CW ingenue. Nina overjoyed, breaking down into shuddering tears at the announcement...it's easily the gutsiest, most determined effort of Nina's young career. "What a battle!" Dobrev exclaims in postfight, once she's regained composure. "Thought I'd blown her doors off with those first-round knockdowns, I mean - who comes back from that? Then she started working me, hurting me...I go down, and suddenly the pressure's on ME to come back! You don't know what you'll do - you don't know who you are - until you get into a fight like this. Obviously my new body-punching weakened Kelly terribly: thanks to Tricia Helfer for showing that slender girls can work the body too! The fight was on the table for either of us in the 10th round, and I just reached out and took it away from her! Yeah - I'm THAT girl now: hungry and greedy in the ring!"
