3. Emma Watson vs Lily Mo Sheen (FCBA Debut)
Emma:
(31, 5’5, 54:31 FCBA, VIXENs)
Lily:
(23, 5’5, FCBA Debut, Free Agent)
BEFORE:
“This is a tricky one, no?” Emma draws laughter from the crowd, referring to the fact she’s facing off against her boss’ daughter tonight. “I mean, how hard do I hit? What happens if I win? What happens if I LOSE?” Emma laughs. “These questions have been running through my mind in the lead up to this fight. But I resolved to myself: a match is a match. We’ll see if I’m still employed at the end of the night.”
If you hadn’t guessed, it’s dear old Kate Beckinsale sitting in the front row tonight, a big smile on her face as she applauds her daughter, Lily Mo Sheen, making her debut in the ring tonight.
“Terribly proud. She’s been wanting to get into the squared circle since she turned 18, but I advised her to train for a bit. And I haven’t exactly made things easy for her tonight - she’s facing off against one of my best and most prolific fighters on the roster!” Kate beams at reporters earlier on.
Lily Mo Sheen, similarly, is all-smiles and full of energy, bouncing on her toes as she speaks to the press by ring-side:
“Emma’s a great fighter. I hope to follow in her footsteps one day. Maybe, like Nell did, I’ll give the former champ a run for her money? Thank you all for the warm welcome!” Lily says.
Both fighters are geared up in their corners, banging mitts together and awaiting the opening bell. Lily’s wearing a modest navy sports bra, white boxing trunks and black gloves. In the other corner, Emma’s gone for a purple sports crop top, white short tights and red gloves.
Referee waves for the bell and HERE WE GO with ten rounds of Flyweight action!
ROUND 1:
Emma hesitates at the bell, holding her arms up in a defensive posture but still clearly afraid of punching the boss' daughter in the face. No such qualms for Lily Mo Sheen, however, as she rushes into the fray like the eager rookie she is! Emma's getting pelted by stiff lefts and rights as she experiences Lily's power first hand! Beckinsale’s daughter has some bite to her step as she lands another stiff one off the guard, which throws Watson to the side and makes her rethink her life choices. Watson gets serious in the third minute, firing back with jabs to the face to give the newcomer some pause. The Vixen has to prove she belongs on the roster, after all, and she does so with accurate shots to Lily’s face to redeem some of her own honour. Close round goes to Lily at the bell, which expectantly draws a big grin from Kate in the front row.
ROUND 2:
No more Miss Nice Girl, however, as Emma thwarts an early rush with a fast duck and roll, before paying Lily back with another shot across her face. Thereafter, Watson chases the newbie backwards with jab after jab, pestering her to no end. Mo Sheen faces first-hand what it’s like to be in the competitive ring, letting out grunts of desperation as she can’t quite handle all the punches, all at once! Emma shows no quarter as she blasts and fires away, huffing and puffing as she scores another one-two to the body before almost knocking Lily off her feet with an errant hook. At the bell, Lily’s barely gotten in one or two punches, looking a little shaken. But she has the best advantage out of all the Vixens: her own mother in her corner, offering advice to beat her own fighter. A little conflict of interest here, no, as Emma shakes her head at her own confusion.
ROUND 3:
Lily switches gears this time, staying at a comfortable distance and hoping to blunt Emma’s momentum and deny her opportunities to land punches. First minute and both girls dance back and forth, with Watson also cautious that this might be a trap from the unpredictable rookie. But second minute and it’s all a ruse, after she lands a few more combos clean into Lily’s face from afar. Mo Sheen can’t quite keep up either even at this distance, and the mixture of punches sent in high and low makes it even more difficult to intercept them all. Against such a practised hand like Watson’s, the rookie’s gonna need to do more if she wants to pull ahead. Last minute and Lily opts to stay even further away, her cheek and torso turning pink from all the abuse but having no other answer at this point other than running away to deny Emma the possible knockdown. Fine by Emma, who’s looking more and more confident in her ability to end this early and keep her job.
ROUND 4:
Lily fights back with some surprising aggression, shocking Emma and the rest of the arena when she charges out of her corner at the bell. If you can’t beat them, rush them is what the reckless rookie seems to be thinking, as she forces Emma to cover up before a wide overhand comes screaming into the middle of her arms. From there, Lily just throws her punches in left and right, hoping to score lucky and perhaps a critical hit on Emma’s being. Watson of course not just giving ground willy nilly, bobs and weaves as the youngster comes at her face-to-face, successfully planting a low hook to the body but then her chin swiveled to the side by another wild hook from Lily. Emma lets out a grunt as she can’t quite deal with her foe’s power, and another hook to the side of the head sends her reeling off to the side once more. Lily got lucky back there, now chasing Watson down with more jab combos. But maybe a healthy dose of luck is what you need when facing off against someone like Watson.
ROUND 5:
Emma’s grinding her teeth however as she struggles to put away the newcomer in four rounds, hoping to do it in five this time as the two Brits clash in the center. Emma this time attacking first, crisp lefts and rights ripping inwards and aimed at Lily’s head, trying to drive her back and retake the round for herself. Lily, however, shows surprising agility as she weaves her head backwards to avoid a combo, her arms taking another without much punishment before she rocks a hook in from the side, which catches Emma clean on the chin once more!! Ughh!! Things are NOT looking too good for the Harry Potter starlet, as she again has her face rotated to the left, then just in time raising her arm to absorb another and another hook crashing in! This time, however, Lily’s showing no remorse, practically barreling into the older actress and rocking her with a stiff shot to the pit of her stomach. Emma’s left paralysed, just trying to cover up her vulnerable chin from abuse, gets folded over on the spot, taking yet more leather across her lips as Mo Sheen shocks her one more time across the face with a deft hook! AND DOWN SHE GOES!! The former Flyweight champion gets her nose bloodied as she’s thrown down the canvas in shock!! It’s an unexpected KNOCKDOWN from Lily Mo Sheen in her debut!
Kate Beckinsale jumping to her feet and screaming “THAT’S MY GIRL!” from the front row, when technically she should be showing equal preference for either fighter in the ring. Lily beaming as she walks back to her corner, pumping a hand high in the air and soaking in the first knockdown attempt of her career! Will it also be the first ever win, though?! Emma denying her the chance, the sultry blonde already rising back up one foot at time, shaking the pain from her jawline before nodding to the referee to continue at the count of 7. Lily’s done the unthinkable so far, but she has to get through another five rounds if she hopes to win this!
ROUND 6:
Time for Lily to charge! The young Brit definitely wants to make an impression here (and do her mom proud) as she rushes Emma down, hoping to mop up! Emma grunts as she takes the first couple of strikes to her arms, still locked over her face and chin. At the same time, the Brit is moving fast, backwards and sideways, hoping to weather the storm. Not a good look for the veteran fighter as she struggles to get clear of a complete rookie here, but Lily’s punches are also sailing in fast but without precision or venom, and Emma easily avoids or absorbs most of the attacks without much damage. End of the first minute and Mo Sheen might have bitten off more than she can chew, having one of her hooks sail harmlessly in front of Emma’s face before another gets parried to the side. Look of shock from Lily’s wiped off her face as the counter-punching Emma takes back control, Watson swiveling her face to the side before burying another uppercut into her chin. AND JUST LIKE THAT, LILY GOES DOWN!! That one, superb number was all it took to stun Lily to the kisser and knock her lights out!! The youngster immediately CRUMPLES down to the canvas and onto her back, completely KO’ed!! OUCH indeed, and none more so than for her mother, with Kate wringing her hair from the side of the ring as the referee waves off her own blood and sweat’s chances for an upset tonight! It’s OVER!
Official Decision: Emma Watson defeats Lily Mo Sheen via KO6!
AFTER:
“She had me for a while back there, huh?” Emma says later to the assembled press by ringside. “These youngsters are all flash and no substance. Of course, I would love to have Lily on as a stablemate if Kate ever deems her worthy. She showed promise tonight, I’ll give her that.”
Lily definitely put on a display tonight, and securing a knockdown against a former champion is nothing to sneeze at. Still, she’s left to grapple with her first loss in the ring, and is gonna wake up tomorrow with one hell of a headache. She’s got big momma Beckinsale by her side every step of the way, however, and Kate is still beaming with pride in the post-fight press conference, telling her how proud she is of her performance.
“I don’t know if I’m gonna do this boxing thing long-term, but I want to thank Emma for saying yes in the first place. I hope to do this again some day. But for now, I just want to go home and have some of mom’s bangers and mash,” Lily says with a small smile.
