Intro:
Heading into the third fight of this years International Cup with both teams tied, will it be the Rest of the Worlds Stella Maxwell or Team USA's Scarlett Leithold who will break this deadlock? Both beautiful blondes need a win to fire their careers up, so what a more perfect time to do it.
Both got the chance to put their thoughts across on camera, Stella wore a pink sports bra, black yoga pants and black sandals as she sat in the hot seat after training judging by the sweat on her brow, she tells the camera "as you can see I am taking this whole thing serious, maybe more then I have any other fight I have been in" wiping her brow with the back of her left hand when she finishes, Stella has a piercing look aimed at the camera as if in a warning to her opponent.
Stella leans a little forwards as she says "look my career hasn't been what I hoped so far, go make it on this team is possibly career changing for me, getting to spar with Cara (Delevingne), getting to learn under Davina (McCall), all of it has been amazing, this isn't purely about me, I will whoop your ass Scarlett for my team" standing up with her fists clenched.
Scarlett meanwhile sat down wearing a black tank top and denim jeans, looking at her fists as she sits down, Scarlett says "I am so sick of being written off, I heard all those asking why I made the team, Lily told me she believes in me, that she sees talent in me to be a great fighter, that's why I am on the team and why I will beat Stella" standing up to leave, Leithold made her point concise, with both fighters similarly motivated.
Fight night in Nebraska's Pinnacle Bank Arena, out first through the curtain is Stella Maxwell, who struts down the aisle like she owns it, her coach Davina following as Stella bangs her blue gloves together when she is ringside, stepping through the ropes into the ring, Maxwell is also wearing a blue sports bra, New Zealand flag design trunks, blue shoes, while her hair is in a ponytail, she taps her top turnbuckle pad before she begins shadow boxing to be ready.
Scarlett now comes through the curtain with a smile, cherry red lipstick on as she marches down the aisle with her coach Claudia Schiffer behind her, Leithold is wearing a red sports bra, gloves and boots, American flag design trunks, her hair is braided, she climbs through the ropes into the ring, stretching as she paces side to side in her corner.
Once both are ready they step to the middle of the ring, referee finishing their instructions as both beautiful models stare hard at their opponent, told to touch gloves it's more a quick swipe then a solid touch, jogging back to their corners, the bell rings to start 10 rounds of lightweight action.
Round 1:
Both bounce on their toes as they seek openings in their opponent's defence, trading stiff jabs as they start to step in behind their punches, it's like a chess match to start, with neither really being able to enforce their will on the action, eyes locked behind their gloves.
Stella breaks the deadlock by feinting, she causes Scarlett to try to catch her but instead is baited into a counter straight on her nose, a double follows as Scarlett finds herself driven back towards the ropes, Stella now starting to outwork her opponent ad Scarlett tightens up her guard, a little nervousness shown by Scarlett by the looks of things.
Final minute of the opener sees Stella land a one-two combo straight into the chest of her opponent, knocking back Leithold to the ropes, where she follows with a left/right cross combo, Scarlett trying to keep off Stella as they both let their hands go, the bell rings with fans cheering even as it was Stella who most likely won the round, seeing Scarlett fighting hard out of trouble that she won't hide so easily from Stella.
Round 2:
After feeling each other out in the opening round, it's a more action packed start as both start to open up, trading stiff combos as they box around the middle of the ring, Stella maybe looks the sharper with her punches in the opening minute.
But as Stella tries to land a straight, Scarlett slips it to land a right of her own into the solar plexus of the older fighter, a left cross smacks Maxwell across her cheek to make her back off, several more punches fly in as Stella has to cover up, finding herself being herded around near the ropes as both fighters seem very similar.
More body shots starting to come from the American, getting cheers from the crowd though she is taking a few stiff shots back into her face, Stella though is being bossed around as she can't find her way off the ropes, the round comes to a close with Scarlett raising her right fist in the air to acknowledge the crowd
Round 3:
They nearly clash heads early on as they both try to walk through their opponent with a straight, pushing apart with a glare being exchanged, Stella catches Scarlett coming in as Scarlett looks to have let her temper get the better of her, a left cross slams on the jaw of Leithold after she misses with a straight, a straight follows onto the chin of the American.
Stella drilling in her punches more as she steps in, knocking back Scarlett's head, Leithold finding herself being driven back to the ropes by a one-two combo that slams into her face, Claudia waving her hands in the air not happy about the guard of her fighter, watching Maxwell landing the flusher of the fighters.
Again as they enter the final forty five seconds, Scarlett is showing her fight, trading back as she tries to fight her way back into this, she needs to clinch when a right causes her nose to start bleeding, the bell rings with a shove from Scarlett, who looks annoyed as she returns to her corner, not enjoying being knocked around, Stella doesn't let the shove get to her as she returns to her corner.
Round 4:
Scarlett is pushing out her corner looking keen to force the issue more, like the last round they nearly clash heads as they step in together, Stella lands a double jab into the nose of Scarlett to cause it to start dripping claret again, Scarlett landing a left cross as Stella has her near the ropes, moving away from the ropes into space.
As they enter the second minute of the round, Scarlett deflects a jab to land one of her own into the face of Stella, she follows up with an uppercut that knocks Maxwell to her heels, the crowd behind Scarlett as she presses her opponent back into a neutral corner, bashing away around her body, Stella needing to hang onto her, both landing rabbit punches behind the others head as the referee steps in to split them up, warning both to keep it clean.
Final moments of the round sees Stella catch Scarlett with a jab onto her nose, moving around the ring as she knocks back Scarlett, using Scarlett's aggression against her, the bell rings to end the round with Scarlett wiping some blood from her nose, Claudia patching her up as she tells Scarlett to keep her cool, Stella meanwhile is looking to the heavens as she takes in a breath, Davina telling her to ignore the crowd and focus on her opponent.
Round 5:
Out they come starting off going toe to toe before getting back on the move; while Scarlett is game, her nose is certainly bugging her as a right smacks right on it, causing more claret to flow, a missed right cross by Leithold leaves her open to another straight square onto her nose, tears welling up in her eyes, A LEFT HOOK SLAMS ACROSS THE TEMPLE OF SCARLETT, MAKING HER TAKE A KNEE AS SHE BLINKS TO CLEAR HER HEAD!
The crowd is urging Scarlett to get up as Stella heads to the neutral corner with blood staining her gloves, 1...2...3... It doesn't seem the fastest count as Scarlett wipes blood from her nose, 4...5...6.. Scarlett shakes her head to clear it as she is clearly buzzed, 7...8... Getting to her feet with a little wobble, Leithold raises her fists and is allowed to fight on, maybe a little home field bias for the referee.
Right away though Stella clocks Scarlett through her mitts with four straight unanswered punches, Scarlett stumbles back to a set of ropes, her guard simply isn't there as Maxwell pummels Leithold, THIS TIME THE REFEREE HAS TO STEP IN! WAVING THE FIGHT OFF AS LEITHOLD ISN'T DEFENDING HERSELF!
Winner Stella Maxwell TKO Round 5
After:
Stella puts her team ahead and doesn't care about the crowds boos as she struts back to her corner, Davina patting her on her back to show her how proud she is of her, Stella all smiles as she sits down getting washed down and getting a drink of water, looking at her blood stained gloves with a cruel grin.
Claudia meanwhile has to help Scarlett back to her stool so she can be worked on, the referee probably did more damage trying to not upset the crowd by giving Scarlett ample time to get up then counting her out, now she has blood from her nose on her tits and looks out of it.
Once Scarlett seems in better shape, Claudia helps her out the ring to the back so she can be checked over, Scarlett stares at the ground with a hollow look, understandably disappointed that she lost this fight, still some work for Leithold to do if she is to become a top fighter.
In the ring Stella heads to the center so she can get her left hand raised, she flexes her right arm with a cheeky wink to the camera, before posing for it with her fists raised, showing she is ready for her next challenge, once she is satisfied she has made her point, Stella steps out the ring to boos.
All that matters right now for Stella is she is back on the winners side of boxing, also that her team now only needs one win out of two fights to retain the International Cup, if they do achieve that feat Stella can proudly hold up the cup knowing she might have been the tipping point to have won it.
