Nell Tiger Free vs Rosie Mac
Nell:
(22, 5’5, 7:1 FCBA, VIXENs)
Rosie:
(25, 5’4, 0:1 FCBA, Free Agent)
BEFORE:
Rosie Mac’s prospects not looking too hot in recent times when she found herself a Free Agent after her stable went under. The British actress and model may have only one fight under her belt but it was an impressive showing against former JMD and Bantamweight champion, Demi Rose.
Much like her counterpart tonight, Nell Tiger Free broke into the industry with an impressive debut against Lily Collins, almost knocking her out at multiple points of their nine-round fight, only to come out just barely short of the upset.
The two newcomers to the FCBA square off on stage during the pre-fight press conference, both looking confident in their ability to come out on top in this latest engagement.
“I’m looking for a new home. I hope people are watching,” Rosie says with a smirk earlier during the press meet. “I know for a fact that I was on one of the VIX shortlists, and when I knock Nell on her ass tonight, I’ll show you all why I deserve her spot instead.”
“Mac’s had one fight, and she lost that one,” Tiger Free bites back moments later. “I’m just not sure she knows what she’s saying. I’m sure she’s just a little bitter after being let go. It’s understandable. But I don’t see how she’s going to walk away from this one as the victor.”
One inch height differential and Mac’s bulkier frame means Tiger Free will have to be careful if she doesn’t want to get caught in the curly-haired tigress’ jaws tonight. Both girls pose bravely in front of the cameras, Rosie Mac with long, dirty-blonde curls cascading over her shoulders and down to her waistline. By contrast, Tiger Free’s straight auburn hair is tied up into a neat ponytail.
Not just a contrast of styles for tonight, but also a matter of different personalities, with Mac still acting cocky as she smirks in Tiger Free’s face with her fists poised too close to the chin, whereas sure and steady Nell stares back with barely any reaction besides her own fists raised high and true.
Hours later, Mac is in one corner, stretching and prancing about in a classic black bikini and red gloves, earlier stripping down from her golden-scaled jacket and mini-skirt to reveal this revealing fight attire. In the other corner, Nell is doing last minute stretches, ready to rock in a white Calvin Klein sports bra and long grey tights. She’s wearing yellow gloves for tonight’s contest.
Sound of the bell and we get the brief touch of gloves to start! HERE WE GO with ten rounds of Flyweight action!
ROUND 1:
Early snap jabs landed to Rosie’s face as Nell initiated with speed and poise, capitalising on the relative newcomer’s lack of experience in the ring to rock leather into her pretty blonde face to kick things off. Rosie grunts, letting out loud squeals as she didn’t expect the pain to come so soon, dashing back at Nell’s head with hooks and swings that almost entirely miss their mark, as Tiger Free keeps a safe distance as she pounds away with determination. Tiger Free with eight fights under her belt, and counting, and with each victory (or loss), the British starlet is learning a bit more, settling into her style, which can be described thus far as a mixture of Emma Watson’s counter-punching and Lily Collins' aggressiveness. She hasn’t quite got everything figured out, however, allowing Mac to get in close late in the round to hammer several hard hooks to her arms, Mac then scoring with a hook or two across her torso to partially drive her backwards. The ex-Stacey’s Academy starlet also shows signs of promise, having been in the gym and training hard despite her stable going under in December of last year.
ROUND 2:
Rosie continues to employ power to dictate her terms, rushing at Nell when she leasts expects it and then trying to overwhelm her with hard punches to her body and guard. Nell keeps her guard low, trying to intercept them in turn, but is having trouble keeping Mac off for long before she takes another stiff blow to the sternum or ribs, the air slowly being driven out of her lungs. Before long, if she ain’t careful, she’s gonna get herself blown off her feet by Mac’s power. Though she manages to stave off disaster in the second half by moving fast and jabbing constantly at Rosie’s face to deter the little blonde spitfire from crowding in to brawl once again. Round ends and both girls look like they’ve each absorbed damage this time, though in different concentrations and locations. Rosie draws the scoreboards, however, looking cocky as she gives a shout of victory at her relatively small triumph.
ROUND 3:
More bad news for Nell as she can’t quite keep up with Rosie’s firepower. Mac shows off her own speed as she rushes in repeatedly to trap Nell against the ropes, shoving her gloves under the arms and into the Brit actress’ lean body. Nell left grunting at the end of the first minute as another left-right combo packs into her torso, making her lurch forward and almost falling into Rosie’s arms. But when Rosie tries to score the killing blow with another hook aimed high, Nell dodges at the last moment, before skirting off to the side to escape her tormentress. The taller Brit regroups and finds her footing, once more shooting crisp jabs into Rosie’s face to keep her distance. She may not have the flashy moves of some of her counterparts, but that’s how Tiger Free managed to go toe-to-toe with someone like Collins for a good nine rounds: through sheer dumb luck and a little patience. Rosie defends herself well, however, absorbing most of the punches to the center of her arms. So far, so good for the blonde, who’s taken very little damage so far and inflicted a whole lot more.
ROUND 4:
Rosie is acting a little cocky when the bell rings, goading Nell to bring the fight to her if she can. The little blonde spitfire is so sure of her punching power that she’s even lowered her guard, daring Nell to come get her. Nell obliges, wading in fast and then shocking the blonde with a crisp jab to her cheek, another right cross driven into her arms as Rosie regrets ever making that challenge in the first place! Mac suddenly is forced to cover up as more punches come streakin’ in, Nell slowly pushing ground as she scores another left-right combo off the forehead before pounding fists off her foe’s chest and body in some wicked payback action. Mac’s doing her best to stave off the assault, taking return swings back at Nell’s head, but the Vixen is avoiding those wild swings with practised grace, coming back almost immediately with a flash hook off the chin, another driven into the tummy to send Rosie reeling into the ropes with her eyes bulging and mouth open. All it takes is another hook across the face to send the poor girl spinning off to the side before collapsing face-down to the canvas!! It’s a KNOCKDOWN out of the blue by Nell Tiger Free!
Confident pump of the hand and we’d say it again: Nell’s patience and poise delivers the results! Rosie Mac left crawling and sputtering into the ropes, looking shocked as she shakes the pain from her head. Meanwhile, the referee’s already slowly counting her chances out by the second, as Nell breaks into a knowing smile when he finally hits the count of 10 and waves off the rest of this fight!! Just like that - it’s OVER!
Official Decision: Nell Tiger Free defeats Rosie Mac via KO4!
AFTER:
Nell celebrates modestly as the bell signals her victory: a confident hand raised high to acknowledge the fans, a big sigh to show she’s more relieved than anything at another fight under the belt.
“I’m starting to get a hang of this. For now, I’m more than happy to keep learning and fighting. Sooner or later, though, I want that rematch against Lily,” Nell says with a smile. “As for Rosie, I wish her nothing but the best going forward. I hope she lands on her feet.”
Rosie left to flounder a little longer in her own corner, still breathing hard as she lets the medics tend to her bruised face in the post-fight. Arguable, the British blonde was doing well in the fight, only to let her impatience get the better of her.
“If I had to do it all over again, I’d approach the fight differently,” Mac says solemnly to reporters later. “Nell’s got some fight to her. I’d love to face her again when I’m better.”
