BEFORE:
On this PPV alone, we have all four Dollhouse queens in action, with this next fight witnessing the Queen herself, Avril Lavigne, go up against up-and-newcomer, Isabella Gomez.

"I don't even know who this Gomez chick is or what she does...they told me she beat Dove Cameron on her debut and wanted a fight with me. I said bring it b*tch! She's a total newbie, but I was told to watch out for her punching power...Well, guess what Bella? You should watch out for mine!"

It’s true - Isabella shocked the world in January of last year when she KO’ed Dove Cameron in under six rounds, back then spoiling the Consortium’s run for the Flyweight title. Since then, of course, Cameron has been tearing up the Flyweight scene, whilst Gomez has been left in infamous obscurity after that one and only win under her belt.

"Hey, I might be new, but I can punch, just ask Dove. I know Avril has all those fights under her belt and she just beat Cree Cicchino, which was impressive...but you know what? She's pretty fragile, all I need is one or two good punches and I'll put her down and out...I think I can manage that. We'll see. I'm feeling good about tonight,” Gomez says earlier from the backstage press tour.

Both fighters are gearing up for an epic showdown of young versus veteran, punching power vs agility and skill! Not much difference in height between these two as they squared up earlier at the podium, but Gomez’ thick and curvy frame is surely packed with more power as compared to Avril’s lean form.

Fight night rolls round and Gomez is first to enter the sports arena: arms held high as she smiles and waves to her fans on her way to the ring. She’s wearing a dark blue sports bra tonight and long white tights with gold trimmings. On either of her hands, she’s chosen white gloves, with her dark brown hair tied back into a neat ponytail.

Avril’s up next, and it’s your usual spectacle of golden fireworks and pink sparkles as the Doll strides onto stage and strikes a pose: hands outstretched on either side, head bobbing to rock music. She’s dressed in her usual Dollhouse colours of black sports bra and short tights, complete with hot pink linings, her hair in a messy ponytail.

Referee calls this match to action once both ladies are set in their corners and ready to do battle! There’s the bell and HERE WE GO with ten rounds of Flyweight action!

ROUND 1:
Avril has definitely been warned about Isabella's punching power, immediately crouching low and trying to get into a defensive stance. She keeps her distance in the first minute, throwing jabs towards Gomez’ face to make her stay away. Isabella, on the other hand, is doing her best to get in close and personal, rock Avril with big swings to her arms and head. The newcomer doesn’t seem to know any fear, entirely emboldened by her one big win over Dove Cameron last year and now thinking she can take over the entire world on her own. She’s in for a rude awakening, however, as Avril’s jabs keep crunching into her nose and lips, with Lavigne working in overtime to make sure she avoids most of her foe’s return attacks. Isabella lets out another grunt as she takes a one-two combo straight to the kisser, which throws her head back towards the end of the round. Avril looks back at Gomez rubbing her nostrils, entirely smug, especially when the bell rings and she sticks out her tongue on her way back to the corner.

ROUND 2:
The young Colombian-American still gonna try her best to knock Avril’s marbles from their sockets, though. She charges the Doll at the bell, swinging more hooks at her head, and manages to get off a couple of stiff strikes to the arms before Avril outpaces her backwards once more. Isabella is chasing and chasing, however, with her fists lunging forwards to land on the tummy before Avril could get away completely clean. Some wind forced out of Lavigne’s lungs but she looks stable to boot, and fully reset across the ring. Here comes Isabella with another attack run, but this time, she gets her cheek cratered in by a quick jab forward, and another rapid flurry catches her all over the face, shoving her head back and stalling her advance. It’s still bad news for the newbie, who can’t quite score a round for herself despite all this wanton aggression. Bell rings and Avril’s taken it close this time, though Isabella looks more than furious and determined to correct that going forward.

ROUND 3:
The stamina on this rookie! The first minute looked like both women wanted to take a breather and catch their breaths, both circling each other like sharks ready to pounce but wary of the other taking a big bite out of their hides. Avril initiates with some long-ranged jabs to the head and body, showing off both speed and power as she draws a grunt after hitting Isabella on the stomach straight. But Isabella was just playing it safe this entire time! She lunges back immediately with an overhand punch to the Doll’s arms, which blows Lavigne back with a hard wince, then follows up with another one of her patented rushes into Avril’s space, looking for payback! Lavigne covers up as best she can, though she’s taking several shots to her tummy and getting her arms blown left and right by Gomez’ big hooks, till finally, the Doll manages to get clear of her and reset. Rest of the round sees Avril trying to catch up again, though with a little more caution in each of her steps. She fends Isabella off with more jab combos at the head, trying to blur her opponent’s vision and make her think twice about rushing in for the umpteenth time.

ROUND 4:
Still, Gomez can’t be denied forever. The rookie’s only had one fight under her belt but she’s already showing off how wily and cunning she can be, first hanging back to draw Lavigne closer and closer in before shocking the Doll on the guard with a well-placed hook, then continuing to target the Canadian singer’s tummy with low lunges under and around her arms. Avril getting shocked to the core of her system, mouth hanging open once or twice as the power of Isabella’s punches hit home to the breadbasket, but each time, she learns her lesson and scoots immediately out of the way of another incoming swing, and Isabella is forced to hit the airwaves - the newbie is left breathing hard after this hard-won round, though she’d like nothing better than to have knocked the older fighter down by this point. Wide round goes to Isabella, no less, and we’re effectively tied on the scoreboards!

ROUND 5:
Isabella tries another big rush in the opening minute, thinking this might be very much it, with all the hammering and abuse Avril’s already taken to her guard and body. Not quite yet, though! Gomez is trying to rush her head down with plenty of hooks swung left and right, but Lavigne has been in tougher spots than this, easily swerving this way and that to avoid them, then planting leather back on the Colombian-American’s face to slowly wither her foe down. Gomez gets rocked by those return right hooks across her chin and cheek, groaning as Avril even dips under another one and pounds away on her tummy and chest, before an uppercut to the chin appears to rattle the newcomer bad!! THIS MIGHT BE IT?! Avril finally WALKS Gomez backwards with snap punches to the center of her face, each time knocking her head back and further sending her into dreamland! Finally, a hook to the chin does the trick - DOWN GOES ISABELLA GOMEZ, absolutely FLOORED by that experience and skill!

It’s a KNOCKDOWN for Avril Lavigne in minute two of the fifth round! Can Gomez get up and continue her pounding?! Lavigne steps over the shaken rookie on her way back to the neutral corner, a smug expression on her face as she soaks in the cheers of her fans as well as those of her corner team. On the ground, Gomez’ face is scrunched up in pain, though the rest of her body is doing its best to push upwards, and the rookie does manage to crawl her way towards the ropes in an attempt to aid her recovery. Referee’s hovering nearby the entire time, but he’s already at the count of 8 and the poor girl is barely off her knees!

That’s it!! He hits the 10-count and WAVES his arms overhead! This fight is OVER!

Official Decision: Avril Lavigne defeats Isabelle Gomez via KO5!

AFTER:
Avril all smiles as she raises both arms and skips along to her corner, high fiving her team. It’s another win for the veteran who’s back in good form after beating title contender Cree Cicchino early this month and going on to win her next two fights against young rookies Lindermann and now Gomez.

In a rare display of sportsmanship (or is it?), Avril struts along towards the fallen brunette, towering above her patting her on her back before exclaiming “Good fight, Gomez! Better luck next time!”.
The Punk-Princess giggles as she walks away, blowing kisses to her fans before finally exiting the ring and making her way backstage accompanied by Carmen Electra and her team.

Isabella fought well tonight and showed some spark, but her lack of experience showed and she was unable to find those elusive hits that could have helped the fight go in a different direction. We see a lot of promise in this girl and if she gets signed by a proper team again we might just see her realizing this potential and maybe one day demanding a rematch.

Until then….the only question on our mind is what’s next for Avril Lavigne!
