Another melodious debut on the cards tonight as Avril Lavigne takes on newcomer Maggie Lindemann in what’s looking to be a most painful welcome party. Lindemann may be new to the ring but she’s been belting out pop songs since 2016, and now, she makes her debut with punches to the head instead of posies.
Avril enters the press hall first, looking smug and confident and fresh off her revenge defeat of Cree Cicchino, and despite the recent loss to Hudgens and unsuccessful run for the Flyweight title belt, she seems to be in good spirits.
"When my team first told me about Maggie as a potential opponent, I was like..."That Beer b*tch again?! haven't I beat her ass twice already?" Avril laughs from the table. “I mean, they totally look like the same person! Apparently they're friends?! Like, have some originality jeez. At least Maggie here makes slightly better music than her friend....but is she a better boxer? Who cares? I'm still gonna kick her ass tonight!” the Doll ends her tirade by throwing her head back with another hearty chuckle.
Maggie’s only 23 years old and has a sprite in her step when she entered the hall earlier, waving and smiling enthusiastically at the crowds. She has her own loyal fan base, that’s for sure, taking her seat at the long table amidst a chorus of cheers and shouts to “MARRY ME, MAGGIE!!”, which draws some chuckles from reporters.
“Avril’s has a bad habit of breaking young new artists into the FCBA. Each time, she disguises it as ‘doing us a favour’. I think it’s actually the only way she manages to stay relevant in the ring: by beating some nobodies. Well, guess what, I’m not a nobody - I know what I am and what I’m up against. My fans are here to see me kick some ass tonight and that’s what they’ll get. It’ll be fun to beat someone as old and washed up as Avril, you know? The risk might be high, but the rewards are MEGA high!” Lindemann says with a sly smile.
Ladies don’t like each other already, as evident by the tense staredown at the podium moments later. Avril’s still mouthing off disrespect, gesturing with a wild finger in the youngster’s face that Maggie has zero respect and is about to get her mouth sewn shut. Lindemann just playing along, smirking back, confident and calm for someone of her age and experience.
Hours later, Maggie is the first to enter the arena, and the slim black haired beauty is wearing a dark purple sports bra and black short tights, her hair tied in a neat bun. She’s holding up a pair of purple gloves as she struts out behind the curtains and raises her arms confidently, smiling to her many fans who showed up to support her on her ring debut. Maggie makes her way to the ring accompanied by her personal coach, in the hopes of making history tonight by defeating the veteran Doll. Next comes Avril Lavigne to loud cheers, dressed in her signature black sports bra and short tights lined with hot pink, her blonde hair in a ponytail as she smiles casually and confidently makes her way to the ring accompanied by Carmen Electra and the Dollhouse team following behind . There may only be one match on the card tonight but that still hasn’t stopped the crowds from showing up in droves to see these two singers go at it!
Referee kicks off the action with a wave of the hand and DING of the bell! HERE WE GO with ten rounds of Flyweight action!
ROUND 1:
Avril ain’t taking the newcomer too seriously, with the first minute spent toying with the younger fighter from a safe distance, jab after jab sent into Maggie’s face with barely any return fire. Second minute and all of a sudden, Maggie LEAPS IN with an overhand punt off the top of Avril’s forehead!! WHAT THE - Avril’s seeing STARS as she retreats backwards, suddenly having to fend off a barrage of lefts and rights sailing straight for her face! Maggie got lucky with that right hand, SURELY! But the rookie knows how to capitalise, rushing into Lavigne’s space and bashing her arms about with punch after punch after punch! Avril almost gets battered and pushed into the ropes, a look of abject horror on her face as she’s finally saved by the bell at the end of three horrid minutes! WIDE round to the new girl as she stakes the first boxing round win of her career!
ROUND 2:
Avril’s growing and snarling in between the rounds, and that animosity doesn’t seem to go away even after the bell rings! Both ladies come out of the gate looking to storm their way to victory. Maggie approaches with her guard held high, baits the older singer into aiming for her tummy, with Avril sending a combo down to the brunette’s exposed midsection! but Maggie absorbs the punishment easily, Lavigne’s punches bouncing off her taut abs before the raven haired songstress responds in kind with a STIFF hook to Avril’s now unprotected face that hits the blonde HARD! OUCH! ALL downhill for the Dollhouse Queen, who groans and wobbles for a second, has to retreat on her heels yet again as Maggie chases her down with more jabs and hooks! Lavigne this time has nowhere to run as she takes another one-two to the tummy before her head gets SWIPED to one side by a lasting hook - AND DOWN SHE GOES! Miss Lavigne’s utterly decimated in there as she gets sent off her feet and DOWN to the canvas! It’s an early KNOCKDOWN for Maggie Lindemann!! Good lord does this newcomer wants a piece of the blonde indeed! Maggie’s gone two-for-two in this first match of her career, now having scored the first knockdown as well, and on a legend like Avril, no less! Lindermann walking to a neutral corner all smiles, raising her right arm to acknowledge her fans who are going berserk here at her impressive performance thus far! And If the Doll was bitter before, she’s hella furious now as she pounds the canvas with her gloves and immediately begins the road to recovery, shaking her head and trying to shove the referee out of the way to continue this fight. For now, Lindemann leads by a large margin, though let’s not forget it’s still only the second round!
ROUND 3:
Lindemann at it again, trying to close the distance and finish her opponent off. She’s been warned by her trainers to play it safe in this fight, especially against an explosive operator like Lavigne. But it looks like the path of aggression seems to work for the newbie, who employs both her reach advantage and unpredictability to keep Avril guessing. At the same time, all those sudden rushes towards Lavigne are taking its toll on the rookie, and Maggie is less speedy and driven when she comes out of her corner at the bell. Lavigne takes advantage of her sluggishness, landing choice jabs to her head and body and then leaping back out of the way of any counterattacks or sudden movements forward to rush her down. The Doll ain’t playing games any more, and neither is she underestimating her opponent, as she picks Maggie apart from afar, drawing another gasp of pain when a right hand stings her straight to the eye. Lindemann’s return hooks aren’t hitting their mark - not this time - as Avril grows in focus and the need for vengeance. Bell rings and the Doll has secured the very first round for herself in this contest! Something tells us though that this fight ain’t gonna be over so soon!
ROUND 4:
Maggie’s still trying to rush her foe down and ignore the advice of her trainers. This is classic youngblood wanting a piece of the action, but you know what they say about youth and recklessness… Avril avoids and absorbs some jab combos in the first minute, weaving backwards as an uppercut stuns the space where her head once was, before she takes Lindemann apart with a hook sent across her face, another dinging the chin, and still another powered into her body to send her gasping and bent over in the middle of the ring. Lavigne not taking any chances, still slowly circling inwards, punting the youngster’s head back with harder and harder shots, till a final right cross is DRIVEN INTO her nose with a loud groan. And Maggie’s seeing stars!! The Doll decides now is the time to POUNCE on her like white on rice! Maggie’s pushed back and taking a pounding on the ropes, her arms up but quickly falling apart under the barrage of lefts and rights and uppercuts from the Dollhouse superstarlet! A final SMACK across the chin sends the rookie SPINNING off to the side before collapsing down to the ground, where she stays grounded, looking absolutely bewildered! It’s the first time Lindermann is experiencing the pain of being knocked down hard and it shows! The referee takes a look to make sure she’s responsive before starting his count, and a very groggy Maggie begins her valiant attempt at getting off the mat. She rolls to her side and tries to push herself up….3..4… this is not going well for the rookie….4-5…her head is clearly spinning as she’s having trouble making any progress…6-7…Maggie makes it to her hands and knees as her fans cheer her on with baited breath…8-9…she’s not going to make it! She’s too out of it! Maggie realizes its over - crashes down back to her side, chest heaving as she lays there and accepts her fate! 10! Referee waves for the bell! It’s OVER!
Official Decision: Avril Lavigne defeats Maggie Lindemann via KO4!
AFTER:
A foregone conclusion from the Queen of the Dollhouse (self-proclaimed), as Avril immediately grins for the cameras before striding to the center of the ring to strike a cocky pose: both hands on hips, chin held high, and a Canadian salute to the crowds, completely ignoring Lindemann, who’s still laid out on the mat, her hand on her forehead, trying to shake off the dizziness after taking some big shots to her head that ended the fight for her tonight.
Maggie being helped to her feet shortly after by her coach and doctor, getting a snarky “Nice try, kiddo!.” From the victorious Canadian right before she leaves the ring gloating.
Despite her loss, Maggie showed plenty of promise and tenacity in there tonight, shocking Avril with a wide win in the first round before scoring a knockdown on the veteran in less than 2 rounds, something very few girls have managed to do, and it remains to be seen if her performance tonight would garner some interest from any FCBA managers looking to sign a new flyweight prospect in the near future.
Later, Avril chooses to stop by ring-side to speak to reporters on her way out. “She came in all high and mighty thinking she could get me this quickly and early. She pissed me off. So… I fucked her UP. It’s THAT simple!” the blonde chuckles. “And guess what? I’m going to do the same to Isabella Gomez next weekend. I love it when they hate me!”
Avril laughs, quoting her new hit song before walking away, raising both arms as she struts victoriously out of the arena to the cheers of her fans.
