TESS VALMORE
The February PPV was a thirty-nine bout card. All four official titles were up for grabs along with the JMDD title. In each case, the champion successfully defended her title
Despite all the optimism in some circles, the welterweight division remains a closed club. Amanda Righetti, to no one’s surprise, knocked out Sabrina Lynn in five. Miss Lynn was awarded the title fight by losing three of her last four with that one win being over a 49 year old opponent. How’s that for an allegedly strong division. One time top welterweight, Jennifer Lawrence is fading badly. She has lost five straight and nine of her last ten. Now the talk is about Robyn Lawley and Iskra Lawrence. When you talk about top ten, I don’t want to hear about how many fights they have won. I want to hear who they have fought and who they have beat. In that regard, Lawley is ahead of Lawrence. She has fought Upton and beat Tahnee Atkinson
Mary Elizabeth Winstead retained her title with a ninth round KO of Yvonne Strahovski. In was the eighteenth fight between the two and Mary Elizabeth evened the score at 9-9. It going to be hard for Winstead to deny a title fight to DiDonato as she defeated Taylor Swift. In case Winstead doesn’t want any part of DiDonato, there is always Kendall Jenner, Alexis Ren and Taylor Hill. Hill’s problem is, she hasn’t fought in five months. Teles is out as she has already lost a title bout to Winstead.
Elizabeth Olsen retained the bantam title in a tough match against Kira Kosarin. The bantams are deep in talent, so Olsen’s choices are wide. Although she was a champion five months ago, Naomi Scott is right back in the title picture with her win over Minka Kelly. Scott had a little hard period after losing the title including a loss to Olsen in December. It’s revenge time. Bella Thorne seems to be coming around after a little hard time last year but’s it’s too early to award her a title shot. Brie Larson has been talked about. She has won eight of her last ten, but those two losses were to Olsen.
Vanessa Hudgens kept the flyweight title by hammering out Lavigne in nine. The flyweight, like the bantam, is a deep division. Bassinger looks like a good choice for the next defense with three straight wins over Michelle Williams, Cameron and Emma Roberts.. Cree Cicchino is eventually going to have to be dealt with so why not now, so I don’t have to listen to her too much longer
There is no question but that Kate Upton rules the JMDD. She is an amazing record of 30-4 in JMDD fights. Unfortunately that record comes with a price, dealt with below
Taylor Swift’s loss caused a delay into the Hall Of Fame. You can’t get in on the loss. She has all the requirements. She just needs to win a fight. Maybe next month. Minka Kelly’s loss didn’t hurt her chance of the Hall Of Fame. All she needs is three more fights win or lose. She has the win ratio requirement. Now we come to Kate Upton. She has had 128 fights and 100 wins. Unfortunately thirty-four of the fights have been at JMDD. JMDD fights are not considered for the Hall of Fame, because historically, JMDD has no rules. There after considering JMDD, she has 94 fights and 79 wins. All she needs is fights. Her next fight will be laugher against the well aged and outgunned Charlize Theron, who is not afraid of anyone. I project Swift in the Hall Of Fame next month, Minka Kelly in May or June and Kate Upton in August or September
