Cavanis grunting, bunching up: Tailor bopping in and out, continuing to assault the ribcage/waist. Nicola showing earmuff, swishing away the odd side-swiping left hook, but she can't make contact. Courtney snatching either hand against svelte blonde torso, really licks away for points, leaving Cavanis shaken at bell.
R2: Spirited trade at arm's length, favors the lankier Nicola and end of min.1 she catches ALL of Courtney's chin a crashing right cross. Tailor's knees give out, she sags, straightens, clatters to her right - Cavanis pursuing off the left shoulder, jabbing, jabbing and NAILING another right hand from the sheer angle, driving Queen to ropes. Nicola squaring away big girl - pushing her left hand in to brace Courtney, then drifting in the right hand, hammering a dazed, stunned patina onto Queen's face. All chin from Tailor - she's in stupor, taking blows with her back to the ropes, but refusing to go down - Cavanis sniffing in contempt as she looks over the wreckage at the bell.
R3: Nicola pinging out elastic rights from the shoulder, forcing Courtney to adjust her rushes. Cavanis well-positioned to lick snatching left hooks off her front leg - really ripping at Tailor's tummy early. Courtney grimacing, shying away from cranking blonde hooks: Nicola able to lean in, extending on a slinging right cross to turn Queen's head and DROP HER ON HER BUTT! Tailor up quick, but blinking back tears: she's well and truly smote! Courtney setting up shop in closed stance at apron - right hand at her left cheek as she ducks/rolls/slips and looks to slash back potshot counters. Nicola standing off Tailor’s bow, pumping jabs, trying to lean in long right crosses: both women taking punishment as Queen firms off the harrowing start. Bell: Nicola follows through on a hook she could have stopped - clubbing Courtney in her breasts.
R4: Rollicking two way slugfest - Nicola countering Courtney's physicality with ring smarts, hard right hands and accuracy. Cavanis keeping her back off the ropes, potshotting rights to the chin, clinching, then walking her girl around, making Tailor move her feet. Courtney also having her moments, bobbing and weaving a little better, slugging wide out of a crossed arm stance and stroking Nicola along the jawlines with looping blows. Cavanis nails Tailor a right hand on the face at the bell, reloads and pops her a duplicate right AFTER the bell before ref can enforce the break.
R5: Courtney can't afford to let Nicola beat her on the inside, she muscles up, stands her ground and gives the other girl hell to the ribcage. Both girls leaning forward behind high guards, using them to budge and bump, then snatching at the waist, behind either elbow. Cavanis with little swinging whip action as she swipes wide at her girl - Tailor more apt to bend her knees and dig straight into gut, or dip the shoulder to rip the uppercut. Courtney punching short, inside Cavanis rips, curling rising lefts and rights snug to jugs late to back the challenger up and take the round.
R6: Nicola not letting up, getting immediately on top with her jab as she works to break Courtney down. Right hands finding their way through Tailor's guard - Queen not answering back - just tilting forward, dukes up, taking punches. Second minute, Cavanis is yanking grunts of pain from Courtney with shivering hooks to the belly, stepping right after depositing, but staying close off left shoulder. Nicola able to get a quick-clipping right uppercut between the mitts, the digging hook to the body and as Tailor droops forward loops the left out and around to swing hard at the kidney. Courtney angered by the back-shots, fires back in the final minute as bitter trading heats up. They slug on after the bell, chests heaving, eyes blazing as Nicola takes another round from the Queen.
R7: Courtney ain't just handing the title over. She gets to jabbing with Nicola, closing the gap behind the stick and getting her short right hand over. Cavanis taking on the jaw, covering up, laying in with Tailor to crowd - Queen able to stuff Nicola's beltline with leather as the girls snuggle rugged. Cavanis banged to the ropes, tries to clinch, but Tailor doing a great job of fighting through it, heaping on the punishment to jugs, ribcage and waist. Final moments, Nicola bent forward nearly doubles - Courtney straightens to crank hooks against kidneys. Nicola's turn to arch her back painfully at the bell, giving Courtney a hurt look.
R8: Courtney clawing her way back. Guard up, she fronts on Nicola, stamping out straight rights and lefts with a hammer-drop delivery, steadily backing challenger to ropes. Tailor getting big - pressing Cavanis into the strands with the left shoulder, jostling her, then pumping to gut as Nicola tries to wrap up around Courtney's head. Bruising fare - Tailor taking it out of challenger’s bronzed midriff as Cavanis hangs on at the bell..
R9: All Courtney Tailor. First minute - Courtney bobs and weaves inside Nicola’s loopers, beats her girl to the body with counters up underneath. Second minute, Cavanis back to the ropes, hands up around her temples and Tailor breaks out the crow bar - really squaring away and punishing the beauty in front of her. Courtney jamming her head in between Nicola’s mitts, palming her guard out of the way, then sampling the wares: belly, ribs and tits are cudgeled, just pushing and romping, busy with her hands. Steady abuse builds on Cavanis until a series of bob-and-clout right hands on her breasts draws a woozy cry of protest from the blonde, Tailor just working out of her crouch, smiles grimly at the break-down. Beating has Nicola swooning - head’s jerking and lolling from Courtney’s uppercuts and hooks, hips are shunting back into the ropes as Queen beats her to the. Series of rising, lusty rights and lefts across the jugs have Cavanis spitting her mouthpiece out in pain - she tries to drape her arms around Tailor’s shoulders, but the Queen slugs through the clinch! Courtney stepping back in good order, letting Nicola slump forward into the punches - tight lefts and rights picking up jug, clipping chin as Tailor rotates her shoulders and CAVANIS GOES DOWN! Nicola on her stomach, body shuddering as she sobs, unable to command her legs - she can’t beat the count! KO9 for the winner and STILL Queen of the Ice Hotel, Courtney Tailor!
After: Devastating defeat—Nicola out to an early lead, ground down fighting her own fight, that’s gotta be disheartening. Courtney excited, giddy in her corner, four defenses puts her up there with Brook and Upton on the all-time greats. Tailor pulls a groggy Cavanis to her feet, right arm around her waist for a harrowing walk of shame. Nicola’s eyes brimming with tears--she’s shabby as Courtney waves to the onlookers, not even trying to hide the smile on her face.
Outside, Courtney pulls Nicola up next to the Snow Bank. Tailor turns Cavanis around to face her and gives a quick jerk forward - but both Contenders are wobbly-butt&unstable. Nicola's legs give way, spilling her backward, taking Courtney with her. Cavanis sits down in the snow, Tailor on her knees, pushing damp hair out of her eyes, bracing herself with hands on her prey's shoulders. Moment's fumbling as whining Nicola pushes against Tailor’s tummy - gets a forearm up into the jugs to keep her off: job of work for Courtney to pull and wrestle Nicola's feeble defences out of the way. Eventually, Tailor snuggles in: left arm strong behind Nicola's head; left hand cupping right bicep; right hand firm in defeated blonde hair. Nicola's hands push at Tailor's rounded thighs, then cup at her hips, far too weak to prevent this. After a time, Courtney just leaning forward on her knees; cinching her grip; licking puffy, lips, Cavanis goes out. Back of Nicola's hands drop into the snow as she sits in jug-shock, taking it big time from one of the best in the league.
