Rumors of roster changes swirl at new year as stables make cuts and additions like clockwork from performance and stables going extinct. When Fates called a press conference on New Years Day, the entire press assumed it would be a roster change. Various names circulated. Lindsay Ellingson somehow always made an appearance at Fates events despite a dismal record. Valerie van der Graaf and Taylor Swift formed a partnership at the end of the year. Sui He and Ming Xi made multiple appearances. The speculation continued, but models were always the focus.
Fates stands up to the podium and the press room quieted down.
“We are here to confirm that we have made an addition to our roster for 2022. We’ve been talking to Ana Beatriz Barros, and she wants to retire from competition when she turns 40 in May. While her final fight is planned, any fighters wishing to face her should make their challenges. We thank Ana for all that she has done for the stable as a fighter and as a coach.”
“For the signing you have been waiting for. We are pleased to announce we have signed the All American Dream Girl, Blake Lively as the newest member of Fates Boxing!”
Lively steps out from the back as cameras flash. The actress steps up to the podium and waves to the press before making some brief comments.
“My time at Chimera was good and I thank Ginny and all the girls there. I am excited to be joining Fates Boxing. Put the lightweights and the welterweights on notice because I am ready to take names.”
Blake hands the mic back to Fates.
“We have been thrilled to have Blake at some of our PPV events in the past, and we are thrilled to her future fights with us. Blake’s first fight with Fates will be later tonight against Lindsay Ellingson.”
With that, Fates and Lively exit, the stable adding another impressive lightweight and welterweight fighter.
