Nicola: 23 YO, 5’9 (1.73 m), 6-3-0, 6 KO since 2021, Revolution Boxing
Sophie: 25 YO, 5’9 (1.73 m), 20-13-0, 20 KO since 2015, Foxfire Boxing
Before: It has been a busy debut year for German model/celebrity boxer Nicola Cavanis. This will be her 10th fight. She has a record of 6-3 and now takes on Foxfire Boxing’s prize young lightweight Sophie Turner.
“I feel I am ready to take on Sophie Turner,” said Nicola in the pre-fight press meeting., “I am learning with every fight, even the ones I did not win. They have all made feel ready for me to move to the next level. That is why I am fighting Sophie. As I said, I feel ready for and will prove that in the ring.”
“I am always looking for new young lightweights on the rise. I want to prove that I am the best at our age level and do that I have to be able to defeat boxers like Nicola. I am eager to take this fight.”
Later, in the ring, the fighters remove their robes to reveal Nicola in a forest green bikini with black gloves and boots with green laces. Her dark hair in a battle braid.
Sophie Turner in blue bikini with black trim and straps. Blue gloves and boots with black laces. Auburn hair in ponytail.
Fighters look tense and anxious to get this started. Referee goes over the instructions. Very quick tap of the gloves and the ladies to their corners. The bell rings…
R1: Nicola and Sophie move out promptly from their corners. Nicola goes right at Sophie ringing her up with fast, hard blows to the jaw and chin. Sophie drops back, but Nicola in aggressive pursuit. Nicola working Sophie’s chin with repeated blows until Sophie gets her gloves up to block. Nicola then starts working Sophie to the body. Big, whumping hooks churn up Sophie’s belly, ribs and breasts. Sophie not get much going in the way of counters as she is just trying to keep Nicola from landing a KO blow to the head. Rounds ends in a wide and easy win for Nicola Cavanis.
R2: Nicola right back at Sophie and again she swamps the British lightweight with a barrage of punches. Again, early blows are to the head until Sophie can protect her head and then Nicola starts using Sophie’s body like the heavy bag in a gym. Whacking blows smite Sophie in the juggs, then the ribcage and finally deep into the belly. Sophie still having trouble getting consistent counters out. The ones she does manage to get out seem to brushed aside by the aggressive Nicola. Round ends in another wide and easy win for Niola.
R3: Nicola continues to come on strong, but as she presses forward, Sophie is fighting back with hard counters. Sophie finding the range to get at Nicola’s chin and jaw. Nicola feeling these impacts, but she doggedly goes for Sophie’s head again. Big whacks to the sides of the head and jaw from both fighters that these slow things up. Then Nicola goes back to Sophie’s belly with hooks that double Sophie forward. Sophie pulling back, but she is using a solid jab to disrupt Nicola’s pursuit. Nicola does manage to land a hard right just before the bell that staggers Sophie and it may have been enough to allow Nicola to win a narrow victory in this round.
R4: Sophie and Nicola come out once again and this time it is Sophie striking first: big right hand off Nicola’s jaw and follow-up left into the chin. Suddenly, Nicola is lurching back, her legs suddenly shaky and she is covering up to the head. Sophie going to the body. She seems to take special pleasure in working over Nicola’s breasts, knocking them from side to side, then uppercuts to the under sides and undersides., Finally straight right and left bra cup crushing blows. Nicola trying to jab into Sophie’s breasts, but they aren’t helping. Then Sophie moves to roasting Nicola to the rib cage and then her belly. Nicola keeps trying to countering, but they continue to be ineffective as Sophie Turner gathers steam. Bell sounds and Sophie Turner recors her first round won and by a wide margin.
R5: Nicola looks desperate to regain control of the bout. She comes rushing out of her corner, but she’s too hasty as she tries to blast Sophie with blockbuster right/left. Sophie can see this coming and easily ducks away. Then she strikes back with an explosive uppercut to the chin. Nicola staggers, eyes blinking in a what-just-happened? Blankness. Sophie’s attack builds as she adds blows to the jaw and side of the head. Nicola reeling, trying to protect her head, but now getting a thorough going body beat down (with special attention once again to Nicola’s breasts). Nicola staying up, but she is taking a lot of punishment. Sophie trying to trap Nicola on the ropes, but Nicola slides away along the ropes to make it the bell. However this was a shutout round for Sophie Turner as Nicola makes her unsteady way back to her corner.
R6: Nicola’s corner crew works hard to revive their fighter, but when the bell sounds, Nicola moves out slowly. Sophie moves in, but is initially cautious. Probing punches draw a sluggish response from Nicola and Sophie shifts to a bolder approach. Sophie goes first to the juggs for a furious burst punching power. Nicola reacts to the pain in her rack by lowering her guard to cover them. This is all Sophie needs, first a cracking right to the jaw spins Nicola’s head one way, then a left to spin it the other way. Then two big uppercuts into the chin. Nicola stumbkes lack, her legs locking up AND NICOLA COLLAPSES ONTO HER BACK! Sophie heads for the neutral corner as the referee moves in. Nicola trying to sit up, but can’t even manage this. She is on her back, chest heaving, but body just not cooperating as the referee calls out:
“…NINE!...TEN!...YOU’RE OUT!”
THE WINNER SOPHIE TURNER DEFEATS NICOLA CAVANIS KO6!
After: “It did take me time to adjust to her attack,” Sophie Turner acknowledges in the prefight. “I know it didn’t look good losing three rounds in a row, but I was not in real danger. Once I solved the problem of how to deal with her it was just a matter of time before I took her out. That’s just what happened and I am quite satisfied with the result.”
Nicola not at all satisfied with the result. She later tells reporters: “I cannot help feeling I let this one get away. I see now that when I could not finish her off early she was bound to come back and make me pay the price. That was one of the hard lessons I learned from this fight.”
No doubt a setback for young Nicola, but this is still her debut year in the FCBA. She lost to a more established young fighter, but she still finished the year 6-4. If she did learn lessons from this fight, they should serve her well in the year to come. Meanwhile, Sophie Turner to 4-3 and finishes her year above .500. Good win for her as she shows she can take an early beating but then fight her way back to ultimate victory. 2022 should be a promising year for her as well.
