The November PPV was a huge card. The 55 bouts extravaganza was the biggest card in FCBA history. Despite the size of the card, there were only two official titles up for grabs, with the bantam title on the line in the upcoming Ice Hotel PPV. Mary Elizabeth Winstead successfully defended the lightweight crown, while Amanda Righetti stripped the Welter crown from the head of Hannah Ferguson. It is Amanda’s sixth Unified Welter title. There were no minor titles up for grabs.
Despite the size of the PPV the welters were generally a no-show. Outside of the title fight there were only two welter fights. There were a number of catch-weight fights with welters being involved. No fighters threatened to expand our ranks at welter although Robyn Lawley made some progress. Right now Righetti will reign over a closed club of eight.
In the lightweights, Winstead made her second successful defense. In the lightweights the big progress was made by Anya Taylor-Joy and Tasya Teles. Taylor-Joy is on the verge of the top ten. She could be in line for a title fight, but she has to get in line for DiDonato, Swift, Kendall Jenner are all waiting. Teles
was rushed into a title fight in May, which of course she lost. Kendall Jenner won her sixtieth fight make her eligible for the Hall Of Fame from a win ratio standpoint, All she needs is fights. She is probably one to two years away. Taylor Swift won her ninety-fifth fight. At her current rate of fights she should
Make it into the Hall in the first quarter of next year. In terms of longevity, Charlize Theron’s win was in the 433rd bout.
The PPV was largely a card for “little girls. In the bantams, Elizabeth Olsen and Minka Kelly, both won giving the current champion or future champion an excuse to duck them. Olsen has won twenty-one of her last twenty-six with an impressive win record over top ten bantams. Minka Kelly has won nineteen of her last twenty-two without a smell of a title shot. She did lose to Olsen. Demi Rose has a title match with Kosarin coming up at the Ice hotel. Will the winner finally give one of those two a title match? Alyssa Lynch can’t be overlooked
In the flyweights, Vanessa Hudgens is the new champ. Dove Cameron was looking good until Brec Bassinger popper her bubble at the PPV. Bassinger I don’t think is ready, but has won her last four over good opponents. McNamara looked good, but she just lost to Hudgens earlier this month. The big news in the flyweights is Cree Cicchino who won her fourteenth out of sixteen bouts this year. She could well break into Boxing World’s top ten flyweight rankings and a title fight is not out of the question
