Our reporter and his blonde companion enter Front Street to find the rings empty and all the ladies, save one, conditioning. Absent is the unplugged Brooklyn Decker. The reporters make their way through the gym, waiving greetings to various ladies, then enter the hallway leading to the offices, turn right, and find the door at the end open.
Man In The Hat: "Tess! Come on IN! Get IN here, Rany!"
The reporters enter and take seats in front of the desk.
Reporter: "I see Decker's not here..."
Man In The Hat (nodding): "Like I said, unplugged. We're going to give her some time away to recharge the batteries. She reports in every morning, does roadwork and basic conditioning, then takes off. No boxing-related activities for a month. When September comes, we'll get her back into training. Ease her back into the normal workload."
Tess: "Is the plan still to get her one more fight this year?"
Man In The Hat (nodding): "If circumstances allow. Right now, we're likely to have a few extra fights at the end of the year, and, if that's the case, we'll try to get Brookie some work before 2016 ends. Before we do that, though, we've got to make sure everyone else gets their five."
Reporter: "It's a juggling act, isn't it?"
Man In The Hat: "Well, Asylum makes it pretty easy. We can book anyone we want on there, which means, if a girl needs extra fights, we'll get them for her."
Tess (smiling): "I heard that Front Street is ready for the winner of Biel/Lively if the winner is interested..."
Man In The Hat: "We are. Of course, there are plenty of other contenders at light, so we likely won't get the call. But, if we do, we're willing."
Tess: "I'm going to throw this out there...but, light might be the only place you have a shot, at least in the near future..."
Man In The Hat: "Right, you are. Again, we're only dabbling at welter and we don't have a Top Ten fighter up there. There are lots of good fighters in line at bantam. And, obviously, we are NOT going to be fighting for the flyweight crown as long as Cassandra Lynn holds it. So, yes, lightweight is it for the immediate future and, quite possibly, for the rest of 2016."
Reporter: "You don't seem overly concerned about that..."
Man In The Hat: "I'm not. The stable's had a good year. We've had fighters take steps forward. Brooke won a belt. 2016 has been a success. And, we're not finished yet. I think we can get more done in the last five months."
Reporter (smiling): "Like getting involved in JMD?"
Man In The Hat: "The request from Stephanie McMahon remains under consideration. Oh, and, Tess?"
Tess (smiling): "Yes, Wiz?"
Man In The Hat: "If Front Street ever DOES do JMD fights...they'll be fights you won't mind covering. And, you know what else you won't mind? Chef's poulet de provencal..."
Tess: "That might be the best chicken dish I've ever tasted!"
Reporter: "I've already got the car keys in my hand..."
