Intro:
China's bad ass model Mia Kang takes on Singapore's undefeated fitness model Georgina Poh, both want a win to boost their rankings, stepping into the Sajik Arena in South Korea, who leaves with their hand raised tonight?
On paper Georgina is the favourite since she is unbeaten with as many wins as Mia has had in eleven fights, though Mia with her muay Thai experience is dangerous in every fight she enters, can Georgina navigate past the taller fighter?
In the build up Mia showed she wasn't lacking confident on her social media, telling the world "So Georgina wants to fight me? She does know I actually can beat people? I'm not a soft cow like those she has fought so far, I know what I am doing in the ring" posting a photo in her Thai boxing gear.
Georgina posts on her own social media "so Mia thinks that because she has beaten two terrible fighters that she is a legend? Last I checked I have as many wins and didn't need as many fights to do it, you are a mouthy bytch I will enjoy wiping the floor with" no hint of worry from Poh as she fires right back and shows off her own impressive physique.
Fight night, out first comes Mia with Kelly Hu working her corner, she gives a quick wave to the fans before showing off some of her punching skills, then begins her walk to the ring wearing a black sports bra, red Thai boxing style trunks, red gloves and she has black sandals on that are kicked next to the ring steps as evidentially both women have agreed to fight this one barefoot, into the ring goes Mia, fist bumping Kelly as she gets told this is her chance to show the world what she is made of.
Now here comes Georgina all smiles from her and her coach as she walks down the aisle, she is wearing a turquoise sports bra, matching Thai boxing trunks and gloves, she kicks off some black heels as she gets into the ring, arms in the air as she takes in the cheers from her supporters.
Coming to the center of the ring, both fighters shake their arms to keep them loose, eyes locked as the tension is clear between these two beautiful women, when told to touch gloves there's a crack of leather as they bang them into their opponent's, jogging back to their corners, the bell rings to start 10 rounds of lightweight action.
Round 1:
Kicking off the fight moving around on their toes as they flick out jabs, it isn't long before Georgina ducks under a straight to work the body of Mia with a quick left/right straight into her abs, Mia landing a right cross to the top of the younger fighters head to make her back off.
As they exchange during the opening minute, it is Poh moving in with some nice head movement to dodge then strike, testing the waters with body shots; getting grunts from Mia, who keeps landing straight punches into the top of her opponent's head to back her off, Georgina retreating back to space looking the more relaxed fighter.
Mia begins to put her punches together better after landing a one-two combo square into the face of Georgina, taking the center of the ring as she shows what power she has, barking out with effort each time she plants her feet to throw, Georgina needing to move more side to side to create openings for her own punches.
Final minute with Georgina ducking under a straight to hammer in a short left hook to the body, then lands an uppercut to knock back Mia a step, turning on the jets now, Poh drives back Kang to the ropes with a five punch flurry of straight punches, Mia covering up as her punch touches the ropes, Georgina swinging in short hooks around the guard of her opponent, taking a few short straight punches into her face in reply as the bell rings, solid start from Georgina as she jogs back to her stool to a nod of approval from her coach.
Round 2:
Mia realising early on she can't let Georgina get her punches off on her as easily, starting to throw in more combinations herself, leading to some tense exchanges out the gate, Mia looks to have a little more power behind her punches, knocking back the head of her opponent when she lands flush.
Again though smartly Poh is crouching under shots or moving her upper body to counter punch, switching up her shots nicely as Mia snarls when caught with a right hook to the jaw, followed by a short left to the body, another hard opening minute for Mia as Georgina has certainly come to beat her down.
But a missed right cross by Georgina gives Mia an opening to strike with a one-two square into her face, followed by an uppercut that sends the Singaporean back a step, soon finding herself bullied into a corner by the bigger woman, Mia leaning into Georgina, roughing her up on the inside, Poh clinching up with her, ending up headlocking each other as the referee breaks them up with a warning to both.
As they resume Mia makes sure to keep her opponent near the ropes, showing off her precision to keep drilling Georgina to the face, with Georgina fighting back, showing she won't be bullied so easily as the crowd cheers the fireworks, watching both slug it out more as the seconds tick away to the end of the round with sweat starting to show on both fighters magnificent bodies.
At the bell both give the other a hard look before turning on their heels back to their corners, Georgina nodding to her coach when she is told that she let Mia drag her into a firefight, Mia meanwhile has Kelly telling her to keep the pressure on, use her power to bully the smaller fighter around.
Round 3:
Both women thud their gloves together as if in a warning to their opponent, coming out their corners trading hard straight shots as Georgina looks like she wants to earn Mia's respect, cheeks are getting marked up from clean cross punches, eyes narrowing as they look to be getting more intense with each exchange of punches.
Missing with a jab leaves Mia open to a short uppercut to the body, then an overhand left smacks onto her jaw to turn her head, Georgina happy to take the opening as she powers forwards with three punches into the face of her opponent, backing Mia into a neutral corner, where smartly the Chinese fighter pulls her into a clinch, referee splitting them up a little easier then the last time.
It looks like Poh has stepped up a gear as she is landing more punches, moving her upper body more as she is causing Kang to miss more, with only a few punches landing on her head, she is landing crisply to the face and body of her opponent, backing up Mia to the outside of the ring.
Less then a minute to go Georgina goes to land a big right hook that sails past the chin of Mia, that looked to have some real power behind it, instead Mia pulls her around so she is on the ropes, landing short lefts to the body as she sticks in close, Mia using her right to hold Georgina, who grabs onto Mia, another heated clinch as toes are stepped on, foreheads grinning as the referee again breaks them up.
When the bell rings Georgina tells the referee to warn that bytch as she puts it to stop holding, Mia in reply saying she is lucky she can't use her knees, referee needing to order both back to their corners as this is getting heated between them, sitting on their stools getting water and fanned off with a towel, their eyes are locked across the ring.
Round 4:
Back out they come trading again as Georgina is definitely planting her feet more to generate more power, Mia though looks more comfortable in these type of exchanges, moving back out the way of big hooks then pounding in counter strikes to the face of Poh.
Leaning out the way of an overhand left, Mia lands a right onto the temple area of her opponent, who stumbles a step to the left side, a left hook then cracks Georgina on the chin, she is being rocked now as punches are hitting her more flush, less head movement from the Singaporean.
Trying to clinch up with Mia, Georgina gets a shove with the left glove of Kang to her face, a straight right ploughs into her face, rocking her back towards the ropes with blood now running from her nostrils, Mia pounding away, TILL A RIGHT HOOK TO THE JAW SENDS GEORGINA SPRAWLING TO THE CANVAS!
Mia raises her arms in the air as she heads to the neutral corner, 1...2...3.. Maybe with good reason as Georgina lays in a heap on her right side, blood trickling from her nose to the canvas, 4...5...6.. Georgina is groaning as she has barely moved, her left glove touching her nose as she blinks, 7...8...9...10 it's over! Mia has won!
Winner Mia Kang KO Round 4
After:
The undefeated run of Georgina has ended in shocking fashion, Mia marches over to her, pressing her right foots sole onto the cheek of Georgina, telling her "I'm better then those little girls you played with, don't ever show me disrespect again" then turns to go to her corner, happy her point has been made.
The coach of Poh rushes into the ring, checking on their fighter as slowly they are helped to sit up, Georgina holding her forehead as she admits she is buzzed badly, that temple shot took her out of the fight, a few tears running down her face as it dawns on her that the undefeated streak she was building has ended, made worse as she clearly didn't think much of her opponent heading into this fight.
The winner on the other hand is all smiles as she gets her gloves taken off by Kelly, who tells her "don't smile too much, you are back in the gym come Monday" then winks to show she is joking, Mia hugs her mentor as both look so happy that Mia got back on the winning side of things.
After both fighters are cleaned up the head to the middle of the ring, Georgina can only nod as Mia gets her hand raised, the winner bowing to each side of the ring as Georgina steps out of it, still plenty of work for the young woman to do, though she shouldn't be too disheartened as she shows promise, she just learned the hard way what not to do.
Mia on the other hand poses with her coach with both having an arm around the back of the other, beaming as they know this win keeps Mia from dropping all the way down the rankings, though as they step out the ring the question that has dogged Mia's career comes up again, why keep burning down to bantamweight when she shows some promise at a more natural lightweight? We'll see soon enough if she can build off this win or slump again.
