Jack Gordon: Hello everyone and welcome to Free Punchers Roundup, the only program that brings you exclusive Free Punchers content. With me today are a couple Free Punchers themselves, Laura Harrier and Iskra Lawrence as well as Free Punchers Communications Director, Cara Buono. Cara let's start with the October PPV. Three fights and three wins for the Free Punchers, that's a good look for a debuting stable.
Cara Buono: Well we're very glad with how our fighters handled themselves. Iskra, Abigail, and Elyse all had very tricky fights that presented different problems. For Iskra she was fighting a pretty under the radar boxer in Antje Utgaard who is one of the few fighters who actually has the size to go toe-to-toe with her.
Jack: Iskra, how did it feel to get your first FCBA win against someone like Antje?
Iskra Lawrence: Honestly, it made little difference to me who was in the ring. I was going to win. Yeah, she's got the size to matchup with me but I think I showed I had more power than her. And I honestly believe I have more power than any welterweight in the FCBA. So Antje was just a preview of what I plan to do to this division moving forward.
Cara: Iskra is probably our most confident fighter at Free Punchers, but she carries that confidence for good reason. She's going to make waves in the FCBA here. That we're very confident in.
Jack: You mentioned Elyse and Abigail, how did they feel after their bouts?
Cara: Well Elyse was relieved to finally have broken her losing streak. She was coming off of, let's be honest, an embarrassing loss to Miranda Cosgrove. And she knew that McCurdy and Cosgrove were close. So she had to anticipate a very confident Jennette. But she went out and handled her business. You're always afraid of losing a rematch because that fighter might have you figured out. But that wasn't the case here and Elyse was very impressive. As far as Abigail is concerned, she had a really tough matchup with a very athletic fighter in Madison Beer.
Jack: Beer is pretty well-known for her athleticism.
Cara: Correct, which if we're being honest isn't something Abigail is quite as lauded for. However, you have to love that moment when Claire Danes took the young fighter in her corner and adjusted to find a path to victory. We think that's a trainer-fighter combination that is going to find a lot of success moving forward.
Jack: Laura, unfortunately your bout was scratched at the last moment. Would you like to discuss that?
Laura Harrier: Yes well, I was really looking forward to fighting Sophie Turner but there was a bit of a scheduling mixup. All logistical. At first I was going to fight Alyson Michalka, then Sophie Turner, and then when it came down to it nobody could agree to anything. So the plan is in November to have two fights. One in the 2nd week against Aly and then at the end of the month take on Turner in the November PPV.
Jack: There were also rumors about you dealing with a lingering injury...
Laura: Oh?
Jack: Yes, courtesy of your two run-ins with Jenny McCarthy...
Laura: Well...
Cara: There's no validity to those rumors, Jack. Laura put Jenny McCarthy in her place in the ring and wanted to fight again at the end of the month. Just didn't happen.
Jack: Right, but I'm just saying there are rumors that Jenny did more damage to you than you care to admit. And she went on to do eleven rounds with Charlize Theron. Some people are saying if you two fought again she might do some permanent damage.
Laura: There is no permanent damage. I beat Jenny and she turned around to lose in a big fight... like she always does. She wants to fight again then Sceej can reach out to our offices.
Cara: That's right.
Jack: Well looking onto November, what does it have in store for the Free Punchers?
Cara: Well, as far as official bouts go you already know about Laura's intentions to fight twice this month. Elyse is going to participate in the PPV, where she's undefeated in her career by the way. Abigail is going to take the month off. And Iskra honey, do you want to announce your upcoming bout?
Iskra: Yes, I'll be taking on Ashley Graham twice this month. Once in the ring in the 2nd week of November... and again in a special type of fight.
Jack: Oh?
Cara: Yes, Iskra will be participating in our very first Free Punchers Bearhug Battle event. In fact, all four of our fighters will be participating. It's something we've wanted to organize since the stable's inception and we hope to be able to do it every single month. How it works is each fighter will be engaged in a mutual bearhug and they simply squeeze until one of them submits or passes out. They have to keep the hugs the entire time, so no breaking and trying to take them out by the legs or striking. It's just two women trying to squeeze the hell out of each other!!!
Jack: Well that sounds exciting. What are the matchups?
Cara: Well Iskra and Ashley Graham, of course. Elyse will be going against Milana Vayntrub. Abigail has Jessica Nigri. And Laura here will be taking on Alanah Pearce.
Jack: Elyse and Milana, huh? They can't stand each other!
Laura: Elyse hates her.
Jack: And Laura, you're taking on an ex-stable mate and friend of Elyse's in Alanah. Any conflicting feelings there?
Laura: None. I'm gonna squeeze her so hard she'll be seeing kangaroos!
Jack: And Cara, any chance any of the Front Office staff will be participating in these bearhug events moving forward?
Cara: Never say never...
Jack: Well, we look forward to that and all of the exciting action coming our way from the Free Punchers stable. For Iskra Lawrence, Laura Harrier, and Cara Buono, this is Jack Gordon signing off!
