Cheryl Cole vs Emma Stone
(Lioness Club vs Empire Boxing)
(39-13, 39 KO vs 7-20, 5 KO)
Results: Lookout!; Story: Vassago
BEFORE: Emma Stone's movie career has hit pay dirt in recents years but she remains an underwhelming figure in celebrity boxing having lost 11 fights in a row. Meanwhile Cheryl Cole dropped a prestigious British duel to Emma Watson last month and wants to bounce back against a top name - that boxing record not withstanding:
"I'm surprised Emma struggles so badly. I mean these redheads kinda do well in boxing. Maybe it's because she's a natural blonde and those blondes are truly pitiful." (giggles).
Cheryl Cole wears a leopard print bkini top, black panties & red gloves. Long dark brown hair tied in a half-up ponytail. Emma Stone wears a red crop top with black trim, matching hip-huggers & white gloves. She ditches the redhead look for a blonde custom ponytail. The fight is scheduled for ten rounds in the flyweight division.
Round 1:
Emma's brash approach allows her to catch the Geordie singer with the initial jabbing burst and she piles immediate leather into the brunette's face before looping a nasty right hand on the temple. Cheryl wobbles to her heels and has to soak up additional hits as Stone follows through with authority. She whacks the older girl from both flanks and finds more success in the head-hunting pounce while Cole is forced to bail out of the slugging exchange which is a very rare sight indeed. However she's unable to match the blonde's intensity during this period and gets smacked across the face which only fuels the American's utmost desire to score an upset victory. Emma barges Chezza onto the ropes where she adds more body shots for a good measure and it's been a long time since the Geordie singer was made to look this ineffective!
Rounds 2 & 3:
Cheryl blows right back into the blonde's face and begins to showcase that elite flyweight pedigree by roughing up the Hollywood A-lister from point-blank range. Emma tries to stay in the tussle but eats too many clean hits on the mouth and drops to her heels while Chezza spikes her on the exposed ribcage which seems to punish the actress even more. Emma bounces around on her toes but struggles to apply the counter-punching response and gets backed onto the ropes where Cheryl simply outboxes her in the phone booth. More of the same in the third when Stone eats the big punches early on and fails to slug herself back into contention while the British tourist gallops with more leather to the body which allows her to soften the American through shear work load alone. Emma reverts into some desperate swings from the back foot but still gets caught from the inside on the turn. Another left/right combo on the mouth bursts the lips into a swollen mess come the bell and Cole forges ahead 29-28 on the cards while not even finding sixth gear in the process.
Round 4:
Emma hangs on in the back & forth exchange despite soaking up more hits over the top before blasting the singer to the body with a better power supply. She wobbles Chezza to the side and whacks her on the nose as well. Both women engage in another phone booth tussle where an accidental clash of heads gives Stone the edge; she shoves the older opponent onto the ropes and catches her on the nose with a scything cross. Cheryl weaves around on her feet but remains glued to the ropes and eats more shots up the middle with Emma getting vocal as she delivers the jabbing pounce. She tries to work to the brunette's body late but gets clinched into safety as Cole limits the damage even though she probably loses the round on points anyway.
Round 5:
More high-tempo action in the fifth where both women gash each other each flank however Cheryl lands the better punches and snaps the blonde's head back before tearing a small wound under her left eye. Emma ignores the experience at first but struggles to embrace another Chezza attack on the rebound and starts to really feel the heat when she gets clocked by a nasty uppercut double on the jaw. She stumbles to the side and gets duly battered onto the ropes as Cole unloads the slugging mayhem and gets vocal behind her efforts. Emma gets wrapped in a jabbing vacuum while hugging the ropes and stands little chance to match the singer's delivery with a half-hearted single punch reply from behind the guard. Ugh! Cheryl slams a double-decker cross on the gash under the left eye and Emma suddenly looks much worse to wear at the bell.
Round 6:
Emma hauls in the quick jabs up the middle but struggles to embrace the response over the top which leads into another dominant spell for the Geordie tourist. Cole's attacks are maybe predictable but they cash in on target and leave Stone dancing around in avoidance down the stretch. No more slugging response from the American which only widens the gap before a somewhat lucky punch on eye wobbles the brunette off her charging stance. Emma follows through to tear a small gash under her eye and drops a rare gut-checking bomb to stuff Cole into spasms deep on the clock. Another quick uppercut finds the jaw and sends the singer spinning onto the ropes which might just allow Stone to steal the round outright. Huh! Chezza is furious and has to be pushed back by the referee however...
Round 7:
...she quickly regains her slugging mojo in the seventh when she booms a right hand on the wounded area below the eye that starts leaking red fluid upon impact. Ugh! Emma tries to adjust her footing but trips forward to meet a brutal uppercut double on the chin and fails to apply the clinching breaks as Cheryl bumps her off and rifles another wild hook on the eye THAT SENDS THE BLONDE CRASHING FLAT ON HER BACK moments later!!! Uh-oh!!! Emma gets ragdolled for the count in emphatic fashion and while she makes a brave recovery at eight, her left eye is completely swollen shut now so the referee orders a medical break! And it's looking worse by the second... Emma admits she can't see anything through that left eye so the fight is stopped much to the crowd's anguish!!! TKO7 Cheryl Cole!!!
AFTER: Chezza nurses a swollen eye herself but it's nowhere near as bad as it is for the Academy Award winner. Emma really gave it her best shot tonight and matched the higher-ranked opponent stride for stride until she succumbed to a physical injury. BLONDE! Magazine claims Emma should ditch the redhead look going forward and tonight's performance alone might open some match-making doors for her again. Unlike Lady Gaga, she appears to have enough left in the tank to salvage an otherwise mediocre boxing career to date.
Official Result: Cheryl Cole def. Emma Stone TKO7.
