TESS VALMORE
The August PP, which was another forty plus card featured three title bouts and an unusual number of upsets. Kendall Jenner defended her lightweight title against her sister. Actually Kylie gave her a much harder bout than I expected. Megan Fox had a great night taking the flyweight title from Camila Mendes and becoming eligible for the Hall Of Fame at the same time. Demi Rose is the new bantam champ taking the title from Naomi Scott. That’s okay, the sun will continue to rise in the morning.
In the upset category, Dove Cameron knocked out Olivia Holt. Maybe Holt was still not over losing the title in the July PPV. She was the hands on favorite. Olivia Munn shocked the Boxing World with her KO of Selena Gomez. The dark cloud of Gena Lee Nolin is now hovering over the association as Munn used some of Nolin’s classic fouls to beat Selena. If you really want to know why Nolin isn’t in the Hall of Fame, just watch this bout and she was only in the corner. Megan-Thee-Stallion pulled a big upset by Knocking out Hilary Rhoda. It was only Megan’s third fight. While she has won all three of her bouts convincingly, I’m not sure she is ready for the top ten . The jury is still out.
Megan Fox has no problem with finding a deserving opponent. You might say they are the “usual suspects, Emma Roberts, Lily Collins, Ariel Winter. McNamara and Avril Lavigne who probably has the inside chance after stomping Vanessa Hudgens.
Demi Rose also has no problem with deserving future opponents headed by Elizabeth Olsen who held the title a couple months ago, Kosarin, Minka Kelly and Lil Reinhart.
Mary Elizabeth Winstead definitely put herself at the top of the contenders list with her win over Taylor Swift. I really feel sorry for Winstead as she has fought nothing but the top fighters her whole career. She has the number of fights to to enter the Hall Of Fame, but only a 56% win ratio. She’s a three time lightweight champ and has had six fights with Kendall. They stand 3-3. Other top contenders are Courtney Tailor, Dua Lipa and the two Taylors, Hill and Swift
In the Welters, Ferguson has limited choice for deserving opponents. Upton says she wants a rematch in a ring and not a stupid sauna. Righetti is flexing her muscles and Brooklyn Decker is chomping at the bit. Stallion eliminated Rhoda from contention, but like I said above winning first three fights means little. That has been done numerous times. I’m not saying Megan won’t be great. Maybe she will. Time will tell
