TESS VALMORE
Once again I present this month’s edition of my much ridiculed predictions. As usual. It is littered with unflattering comments, Cheap shots and unjustified criticism. In April I went 50-11 running my total to 2632-815 or 76% correct
HURLEY/THERON. I’m not allowed to predict Theron fights
SAGRA/HOOPES. First time meeting. Sagra has a 21-10 record and has won her last five with wins over Sophie Turner and Lima. Hoopes is basically a JMDD fighter. She has a sterling 4-10 record and beat Yustman in her last outing. That win was a one timer. Fate will not be as kind in this fight. Sagra wins
CHOPRA/GOMEZ. Chopra has a 20-16 record. but has won six of her last seven. Gomez has a career record of 36-22. She has won four of her last five. Not much difference In size with Gomez being ten years younger. I will go with Gomez to win
M. FOM/MICHELLE WILLIAMS. This will be Fox’s 97th fight on the way to the Hall Of Fame. As for as the Hall is concerned the result of this fight is not important. She already has the required win ratio. Fox has won four of five this year, but her opponents were not exactly top talent. Williams is already in the Hall Of Fame. Williams, who is now forty, has won four of her last five. Her loss was a big upset to Ramirez. The two have met twice before with Williams winning both. I see no reason why Williams will not win again
L.COLLINS/CHARLOTA. Charlota broke in last year with a 5-2 record. This will be her first bout for 2021. One of her victims last year was Lily Collins who she knocked out in four. Collins was recently ranked at 2 in the P4P Lily has won eight of her last ten including the fight which cost her the the Unified Flyweight title. Collins will get revenge.
SANTORO/EVIGAN. Santoro is on a roll. She has won nine of her last ten with her only loss being to Nigri in a JMD bout. Evigan has a 18-14 record, being 5-5 in her last ten. In her last fight she lost to McCarthy. If she can’t beat McCarthy, she can’t beat Santoro. Santoro in a five round KO.
FERGUSON/CUOCO. Ferguson is top eight welter. Cuoco is a Hall Of Fame lightweight who is now fading badly. Ferguson has won seven of her last ten. Cuoco has lost ten of her last thirteen. This should be a laugher for Ferguson, who will win in round five if not before
D.LOVATO/JOHANSSON. Lovato has been around the FCBA for ten years and has a 44-24 record. She has lost five of her last nine which has caused her to fall out of the top twenty. Johansson has been around the FCBA for seventeen years. This will be her ninety-eighth fight. She has a 42-52-3. record. She is 6-5 since the beginning of last year. The two have only fought once with Lovato winning. Lovato will repeat.
V. HUDGENS/DYER. Hudgens is a Hall Of Fame flyweight with 78-41record. She in a little slump right now losing four of her last five. Her last two losses were to Lily Collins and Michelle Williams. Dyer is from my home town. She has a 7-7 record. I hate to say this, but a Hudgens in a slump should have little trouble beating Dyer, which she will
KYLIE JENNER/VANDERVOORT. Last year Jenner came out of nowhere to upset Upton and take the JMDD title. She now has won seven of her last eight.
Vandervoort has a 36-40 record and has lost eight of her last eleven. The chances of Vandervoort winning this fight are slim. I won’t say never, but she is going to be taken to the cleaners.
WINNICK/PORTMAN. Winnick has a solid 30-14 record. She is in a slight slump losing three of her last five. Two of her losses were to Michelle Williams and Naomi Scott. Winnick is a bantam. Portman is a Hall Of Fame flyweight who has held the Unified Flyweight Title eleven times. She has won seven of her last ten. This could well be one of he best fights on the PPV. I think Winnick will win. Nothing but gut instinct, which has betrayed me more than twice.
E.ROBERTS.McNAMARA. Roberts has a 28-15 record and is 6-5 since the beginning of last year that included three title shots. She lost all three. McNamara has a 13-6 record. In her last fight, she lost a title match to Holt in March. I’m gong with McNamara to win.
LAVIGNE/J..KING. Lavigne is a Dollhouse favorite. She has a 45-20 record but has gone 5-5 in her last ten and is 3-2 for the year. King has a 7-4 record and has fought so-so schedule. She hasn’t faced anyone like Lavigne who will win
LAWLEY/M.MOORE. Yes Lawley at 6’2” is known as the Godzilla of the FCBA. That size has not translated into success. She has lost her last nine. Her last win was over Ashley Graham in May of 2018. Mandy Moore is a veteran welter with a 31-41 record. She has held the welter title three times. She has lost six of her last seven all to top ranked welters. She is giving up four inches in height, but Lawley’ size hasn’t stopped many. It won’t stop Mandy. Moore will win
McCARTHY/BECKINSALE (CORONATION SERIES IV. You can call this recent rivalry a coronation series. but if Beckinsale wins, she still will be short of winning percentage. This will be Beckinsale’s 104th fight. She is showing desperation in getting into the Hall. Her recent “easy fight” against Carpenter who hadn’t fought in ten years, went terribly wrong and was a big setback. Her fights this year with the exception of McCarthy were supposed to be gimmies. Mac could well win this fight. If she does, Beckinsale might as well admit she wants easy fights and dip down into the sub 100 category. I hate to predict a McCarthy loss. I have to sit next to her in the Asylum telecasts, but Beckinsale desperation is so great I think that will spur her to win
SCODELARIO/LIND. Scodelario is ranked in the top ten bantams. She has won seven of her last nine. Her losses were to Ratajkowski in a JMD fight and to Kosarin. Lind has a 17-11 record but has lost five of her last six. I don’t think she is ready to fight someone like Scodelario. She may never be. Scodelario will win.
LIPA/LIVELY Lipa has a 14-9 record in the FCBA. She currently hold down the number seventeen slot in World Boxings lightweight rankings. She’s won six of her last ten fighting good opponents. Lively has a 29-35 record and is a former lightweight champion. She has lost seven of her last ten and four of her last five. Not a good time to fight Lipa who will win.
RHODA/FLAIR. Rhoda is a top eight welter She has a 38-13 record , has won eight of her last twelve and is a one time welter champ. Flair is a wrestler. I hate wrestlers being in the FCBA. She has a 14-7 record and beat Hannah Ferguson in March. Boxing World has Flair ranked at eleven. Smackey thinks a lot more or her than I do. The two have fought once before with Rhoda winning. She will repeat
MORETZ/MAISIE WILLIAMS. Moretz comes into the fight with a15-15 record, however she has won seven of her last ten. Her competition, however, has been on the light side. Williams has a 9-7 record. She has lost six of her last ten, however her competition has been better. I would like to predict that Moretz will win, but I can’t. Williams will win
LOWNDES/WINTER. Lowndes is a veteran with a 48-27 record and is a one time flyweight champ. She is 5-5 in her last ten. Winter has a very admirable record of 29-8. Very impressive until you look at the competition. She, however, has fought Lowndes once before back in 2018. She lost then and she will lose this one also
DOBREV/ROBBIE. Dobrev is another with Hall Of Fame potential She has a record of 51-29. She needs nine wins in her next nineteen fights for the required winning percentage. I think there is a good chance she will get it. She has won six of her last ten. Robbie is one of my favorites. She has 27-22 record, but has lost six of her last ten. She fights a tough schedule. No matter. Dobrev will pick up another win on her way to the Hall.
M.KELLY/BENOIST. Minka Kelly is another on her way to the Hall Of Fame. In her case she doesn’t need wins. Her record is 60-26-1. All she needs is thirteen fights regardless of outcome. Historically, she fights between five and seven fights a year, so it may be late next year or early 2023 before she makes it. She on an eleven fight win streak against decent opposition. Benoist has a 14-14 record and has lost six of her last ten. Kelly will win her twelfth in a row
ALDRIDGE/CAVANIS. Aldridge has a career record of 15-8 and has won five of her last six. She has wins over Ambrosio, Agdal and Peregrym. Cavanis broke into the FCBA in April and has already had three fights. I don’t know what management’s big hurry is. She is a lightweight, but her first bout was against Tahnee Atkinson who is a welter Her second opponent was Matsumoto who. Has an FCBA record of 0-2 and then she beat Atwell. I don’t know what to think about Cavanis. She could win this bout, but I have to go with Aldridge.
KUBICKA/HOSK. Kubicka has an 11-3 record against decent, but not top fight competition which is OK considering her experience. She has won eight of her last ten. This will be Hosk’s first fight of the year. She has a 5-7 record against decent competition. Not much difference is size. I have to go with Kubicka
DECKER/H.DAVIS. Decker is a two time lightweight champion with a 55-20 record. She has won seven of her last ten, her losses being to Lawrence, Ferguson and Upton. Davis has a 7-9 record, but has won six of her last ten. Nine of her fights have been at JMDD. I have to go with Decker
D.R.RUSSELL/MONREAL. JMDD
WINSTEAD/GERBER. Winstead is a 36 year old veteran of 112 fights with a 61-51 record and is a two time Unified champion. In her career, she has fought
nothing but the best. Gerber is a twenty year old lightweight who is promising to say the least. She has an 11-4 record. An interesting matchup. The promising young fighter against the aging veteran. I have to go with the aging veteran, Winstead.
FISHEL/RICCI Fishel is a 40 year old veteran who is a member of the Hall Of Fame. She has fought 231 times and has a record of 127-92. She retired in 2007. Unfortunately she didn’t stay retired. She came back in 2009 and that proved to be a big mistake. Since then her Hall Of Fame record has gone to hell. She has had only two winning years and has lost her last nine with her last win being in 2015. It’s a sad story. Her opponent, Ricci has a 20-38 record. She actually retired in 2016 and hasn’t fought since. This should give Fishel some solace as she will win. Both should retire and not fight again.
KLOSS/LEOTTA Leotta is another fighter who made her debut in April and has already had three fights. IBB is another new stable who are in some kind of big rush. Leotta has a 2-3 record, one win being at JMDD against Khloe Kardashian. When Kloss entered the FCBA it seemed she was destined for greatness. She won her first six including a win over Righetti. The record quickly deteriorated. She stayed in the top ten for awhile and then dropped out never to return. Now she is just a decent welter outside of the top rank. She has now lost eleven of her last thirteen. Leotta could beat Kloss. I will, however, go with Kloss
VIKANDER/NASTI. Vikander is an average bantam with a 11-13 record. She has lost four of her last five. Nasti is another IBB fighter. She made her debut on
April 30th and this will be her fourth fight. I still wonder what the hurry is. Is the World ending or something? I don’t have a feeling for this fight. I will go with Vikander due to her experience
R.B.SMITH/LILY JAMES. Smith enters this fight with a 2-10 record. Obviously she is not going to set the lightweights on fire. How bad is she. She has chosen to fight at the Asylum twice this year. James is another who made her debut this year. She won her first two. I have to go with James.
PATRIZI/BENSON. JMD
FRADEGRADA/HEARD The beat goes on. IBB signed Fradegrada in late March and this will already be her fourth fight under IBB management, Is there a zombie Apocalypse coming? Do I need to drink my collection of rum? Fradegrada looks like a comer. She has already beaten Daddario and Paula Patton. Heard has an 11-15 record but has won six of her last ten including a win over Yustman. I’m going to take a chance on Fradegrada to win
SWIFT/AGDAL. No need to talk about Swift other than to say she has won three of her last five with wins over Lipa, Upton and Ren. Agdal has also won three of her last five and has a career 33-16 record. I have to think that Swift will take care of Agdal, although it may take eight to do it
OLSEN/REINHART Olsen is having a great run recently. She has won thirteen of her last sixteen. Kosarin, Ratajkowski and Lilly are among her victims. Reinhart has a 22-1 record fighting mostly at the Asylum. I like Reinhart a lot but she simply hasn’t faced the type of competition that Olsen has. I think that will be the difference. Olsen will win.
TAYLOR-JOY/RICKARDS. Taylor-Joy has been in the FCA for four years but has only has nine fights of which she has won eight. Her lone loss was to Bella Thorne and she had a big win over Naomi Scott in 2017. Richards has a 13-9 record, but her competition hasn’t been the best. I go with Taylor-Joy
BASSINGER/IRIE. Bassinger has a 7-6 record. This will be Irie’s Debut. I rarely pick a newbie to win. I don’t here. Bassinger
LAMBORGHINI/PAUSINI. A Slam dunk for Lamborghini
MERRITT/Z.COLEMAN Merritt is another who made her debut this year. She has had two fights winning one. Coleman has been around for seven years and has compiled a six-eight record. I think the winner will be Coleman
LIMA/CLAUSON. Lima has a career record of 43-33. She will turn 40 in June. Age maybe taking effect as she has lost her last three (all to top lightweights) and is 5-5 in her last ten. Clauson fights in the BBU, The FCBA, JMDD, JMD. She has a combined record of 28-9 but is 4-5 in the FCBA. I’m not terribly impressed. I have to go with Lima to be victorious
RATAJKOWSKI/SWEENY JMD Title
DiDONATO/TAILOR JMDD TItle Body Paint bout on the beach
HOLT/DANIELLE CAMPBELL Unified Flyweight title This will be Holt’s third defense of her second unified title. She is on a six fight win streak. Campbell enters having won six of her last ten. This is the second time the two have fought for the title. They fought when Holt had the title last year. Campbell;; lost then. She will lose now
SCOTT/KOSARIN. This will be Scott’s third defense of her title. She has won nine of her last ten. Kosarin has won seven of her last ten and her last six. The two have fought once before with Kosarin winning. Kosarin will repeat and take the title from Scott
KENDALL JENNER/TELES. Back to the old rule. I don’t bet against Righetti or Jenner. Kendall retains the title
Once again I present this month’s edition of my much ridiculed predictions. As usual. It is littered with unflattering comments, Cheap shots and unjustified criticism. In April I went 50-11 running my total to 2632-815 or 76% correct
