Intro:
Now we have Bayley going head to head with one of the executives of All Elite Wrestling, Brandi Rhodes makes her debut her in the Raymond James Stadium wanting to prove she isn't just a pretty face and brains, that she is tough enough to compete with the best.
At these Boxermania events Bayley has had an interesting time, beating Nikki Bella on the first event, after that she lost to her fellow four horsewomen members Becky Lynch and Sasha Banks, her change in attitude led to her changing her form by defeating Naomi at last years event.
Going into this year she spoke to Alicia in her locker room, getting her hands wrapped by her coach as Alicia is allowed to talk to Bayley, who is asked how she feels going into this years event after some tricky times in a WWE ring.
Bayley rolls her eyes before replying "Ding dong! Hello Alicia! This is a boxing ring and I will have you know I have been dominating in the WWE, so don't come that crap in here with the role model, (pointing at Alicia as she looks at her coach) can you believe her?" Her coach grinning as Alicia looks uncomfortable.
Changing the subject to Brandi, Bayley cuts off Alicia as she says "Brandi is someone desperate to be a star but hasn't the skills, she was a ring announcer who had to sleep with a wrestler to get any notice, she tried to wrestle and sucked, she tries to be a role model like me and failed, she is now running a company, let's see how that goes" laughing as she gets on her black boxing gloves.
"As a role model I will show Brandi why boxing isn't her thing, then I expect the organisers in this place to get me the real fights again, I should be main eventing this card, instead of babysitting their projects in the ring to a good fight, I might let Brandi take a free shot so the crowd gets a show" finishes the longest reigning women's champion in WWE history, Alicia nods as she looks happy to get out of there.
Brandi meanwhile is more then happy to see Alicia, giving her a big hug as she thanks her for coming to give her time to talk in her locker room, Brandi wearing a red leather jacket as she bounces on her toes to keep warmed up.
"Alicia I have been fighting all the time I have been in the fight industry, when I was a ring announcer people disrespected me, when I married Cody (Rhodes) it was supposedly because I saw him as a way to further my career, as a Chief Branding Officer I have had people attack me, I am a fighter" says Brandi with a stern tone to show she means business.
"Bayley is just the latest hater, I have seen her silly posts, her getting an inflatable clown with a picture of me on to hit on her social media, claiming I am not a role model, let's see how much she laughs when I kick her f***ing ass" the Georgia native says as she bashes her red gloves together, heading past Alicia with her coach.
Fighting time out comes Bayley with her coach behind her, arms up in the air at her sides, Bayley struts down the aisle as she takes in the boos, telling the camera "hear all those sheep, they'll cheer me after all this" a cocky grin on her face.
Stepping through the ropes into the ring, Bayley wears a black sports bra, black trunks with "role model" in white on her waistband, black gloves and trunks, her hair is tied into a small ponytail, she heads to her corner with no hint of worry about this fight, an aura of arrogance around her.
The lights then go out as the Nightmare Family music hits, red fireworks fly into the air around the stadium as the spotlight goes onto the top of the aisle to find Brandi with hands on her hips, a look of determination on her face as she looks to prove all who doubt her wrong.
Marching down to the ring as she gets mostly cheers, Brandi a controversial character in wrestler, maybe mixing over to boxing as she heads into the ring, her red jacket taken off to reveal a red sports bra, red trunks with "Rhodes" in gold on her waistband, a silver nightmare family crest on the left leg, red gloves and shoes, her hair is braided as she bangs her gloves together, Bayley just relaxes against the turnbuckles laughing at all the show for Brandi.
The fighters then come together at the center of the ring, Brandi with hands on her hips as Bayley looks her over with a smirk, asking Rhodes "is this it?" With Brandi glaring right back, not biting as she knows Bayley wants to get under her skin.
As they move to touch gloves, Bayley bangs hers on top of Brandi's with a crackle of a laugh, Brandi slaps the back of Bayley's head when the cocky woman turns her back, Bayley telling the referee that Brandi should be disqualified, the referee telling her to focus on fighting as Brandi waves Bayley to bring it, in their corners the bell rings to start 10 rounds of bantamweight action.
Round 1:
Out come the fighters with Brandi with both her fists up tight already for her guard, Bayley more loose with hers as she doesn't seem to have much respect for her opponent, throwing jabs then moving back out to range as Brandi looks apprehensive.
After a quiet opening few moments, Brandi tries to land a left cross that Bayley sees coming easily, the WWE grand slam women's champion moves out the way, then strikes a one-two combo through the mitts of Rhodes to her beautiful face, laughing as she does so.
Scowling as she knows that she is being treated like a joke, Brandi is starting to come out her shell more and more as the round progresses, landing a few more jabs as Bayley was starting to have a free reign through the opening two minutes.
In the final thirty seconds Bayley gets clocked with a right hook to her jaw when she nonchalantly throws a jab, Brandi comes to life now as she bashes back Bayley onto the ropes with three punches square into her face, Bayley covering up now as Brandi keeps swinging even after the bell.
Referee pulling Brandi back, who apologizes for not stopping, Bayley shouting "woah!" as she signals with her hands for Brandi to back off, returning to their corners Brandi is told to relax, she is so tense right now she could pass for a statue.
Round 2:
Stepping out their corners, Bayley looks to be coming out with an extra gear right now, bashing a double jab through the mitts of her opponent to her face, looking her skillful best as Brandi is keeping after her, showing her toughness to take these punches flush.
Parrying one of those jabs, Brandi slams in a left hook to the jaw of Bayley, she then backs the wrestler onto the ropes with piston like body shots, making Bayley hiss out as the crowd cheer her on.
Grabbing Brandi in a clinch, Bayley shows her strength advantage to turn then around so now it is the CBO on the ropes, Bayley pushing her to open them up so she can fire in her own body shots, boos now raining in as Brandi covers up while Bayley swings in hooks.
Pulled into a clinch by Rhodes now, Bayley tells her "you don't belong in here with me" which makes Brandi start firing punches into her kidneys, when the referee splits them up Bayley comes to them that Brandi is a cheat.
Back they go with Bayley catching Brandi with a one-two combo again, she has the AEW executive on the ropes now as Bayley starts to really open up now in the final minute, landing some flush punches around the guard of Rhodes to turn her head.
At the bell Bayley cups her right ear with her glove as she enjoys the boos, telling the crowd "you should be learning how it is done you sheep!" Brandi meanwhile shakes her head, her coach while cleaning her up tells her she is in this, Bayley isn't unbeatable for her.
Round 3:
Bayley steps out her corner with her arms behind her back to mock Brandi, moving side to side as Brandi stares hatefully at her, then surprises Bayley by rushing her back into her corner, with fists flying from Rhodes, not all landing as Bayley is shelling up not expecting this.
Giving Brandi a shove to get her off, Bayley comes firing out the corner with cross punches, a cut opens below Brandi's right eye as she is backed into her own corner, where she clinches at the urging of her coach.
Things are heating up between the women as they spit insults in the clinch, broken apart by the referee, Brandi to her credit is standing her ground as they slug it out, hair flies around as their heads are turned when they are eating leather to their faces.
Soon enough Bayley has her opponent on the ropes, Brandi covering up as the crowd yell for the underdog, Bayley yelling "shut up!" To them, in her moment of distraction she eats an uppercut flush that rocks her back a step.
Brandi comes firing back with a flurry of punches till Bayley holds her, their legs get tangled as they turn and fall to the canvas, the referee needing to physically pull them apart as they fight on the ground, warning Bayley as Brandi gets a point taken off to some boos.
At the bell the referee holds both back as they want to keep on going, calming down enough to sit on their stools, Brandi winces as her cut is being worked on, Bayley stares daggers at her as she seems to be done toying with her opponent.
Round 4:
Coming out looking to hurt Brandi early on, Bayley is missing with some of her cross punches as Brandi ducks them, rifling in some of her own punches just above Bayley's waistband to make her groan out.
A left smacks Brandi across her cheek, reopening that cut as she finds herself knocked back onto the ropes, crowd fully behind Rhodes as she tries to fight her way off the ropes, fists going in both directions to beautiful faces as they exchange stiff punches till Brandi clinches up.
Once broken up Bayley goes swinging in with a wide left hook that Brandi leans out the way of, instead a right smacks into her liver, Bayley is hurting judging by her expression, Brandi not needing to be told twice to strike as she smacks Bayley across her face till a cut opens above the left eye of the WWE star!
The crowd on their feet going wild as Rhodes is turning on the heat, Bayley on the ropes trying to fight back but being beaten to the punch as blood and sweat flies off her, holding onto Brandi, who looks to be finally out her shell fully now.
Final moments of the round sees Bayley covering up and actually retreating as Brandi looks like she might be tiring herself out for nothing with all the punches she is throwing, at the bell Brandi raises her arms in the air with a swagger to her step as she returns to her corner, to most that is her first round on the board in this fight.
Round 5:
Both have been cut but it's Brandi looking the better fighter now, Bayley trying to catch her out but getting smacked when she misses flush into her face, a left/right cross combo knocks Bayley to the outside part of the ring.
Everyone is looking shocked as Brandi is taking it to Bayley, another two uppercuts land, this time to the body of the WWE wrestler, who looks tender there from the liver shot, she needs to hold on and hope she can recover.
Brandi isn't giving her anytime to recover, forcing the action as Bayley is almost stumbling over her own feet with the pressure being put on her, barely able to throw a punch out her guard as Brandi even taunts her to bring it, showing how much confidence is flowing through her.
Heading into the final minute, Brandi ducks under a right hook as Bayley tries to turn the tables, instead another punch into her liver has Bayley crying out as she is being pressed into a corner, sitting on the middle turnbuckle as hooks hammer into her body to the delight of the crowd.
At the bell Brandi shouts "this is my house!" as she turns to her corner, Bayley holds her stomach as she returns to her crowd, looking bewildered by what is happening, she is the actual star, the boxer of the two, how is Brandi doing this? Is all Bayley can think as her coach gets to patch her up.
Round 6:
It is clear Bayley is a shell of herself as she comes out her corner, Brandi is straight onto her as they box and grapple a little as Bayley tries to hold off the fury coming her way, glisten bodies bumping together.
Pulled apart by the referee, Brandi surprises Bayley by feinting with a jab them dipping under her attempted left hook, hammering in a straight to that liver, BAYLEY IS BENT OVER COUGHING AS ANOTHER FLUSH PUNCH TO THE LIVER HAS BAYLEY FALLING TO ALL FOURS!
Brandi heads to the neutral corner in shock herself as people chant "holy sh*t!" At what they are witnessing, 1...2...3...4.. Bayley spits out her gumshield as she is trying to suck in air, 5...6...7.. Shaking her head as she kicks the canvas, 8... Holding her stomach as she is really hurting, 9..10 that's it!
Winner Brandi Rhodes KO Round 6
After:
Wow! That very well could be the biggest upset in Boxermania history, Brandi was well and truly down on the scorecards against someone viewed as more athletic, a better boxer, but it is her standing tall as Bayley is left sobbing as she is in agony.
The winner falls to her knees covering her face as she is crying, her coach rushing to check she is OK, smiling when they see her big smile, telling her that she was amazing, the crowd cheering loudly as even those who hated her have to give her props for this win.
As all that is going on, Bayley's coach looks stunned as they slowly enter the ring with an ice pack, helping their fighter to get onto their knees, Bayley tells them "that... Lucky... F***ing bytch" tears running down her face from the pain and the humiliation of losing to someone she has so little respect for.
Her mood isn't helped as she watches Brandi go on a lap of honour, shaking her head as she looks at the canvas, looking ready to explode as her face turns a shade of red from pure rage, this was supposed to be an easy night for her, she took Rhodes too lightly though.
As Bayley is able to be helped up and out the ring with the ice pack still on her stomach, Brandi waves her goodbye as the crowd chants "hey! Hey! Goodbye" to Bayley, who is mumbling how much she hates this place.
Back in the ring Brandi gets her hand raised, she doesn't look much a winner in some ways with some swelling around her left eye, a cut under her right eye, but she proved her toughness to all those who doubted her along with her heart.
She bows to each side of the crowd, yelling "I love you all" to loud cheers, then steps out the ring, once all the joy is over for her she will be feeling this fight, it could be awhile before that happens as she looks firmly on cloud nine.
