Intro:
It is main event time on night two of Boxermania V, maybe the two most popular female wrestlers in the world in the Raymond James Stadium, Sasha Banks and Becky Lynch take the spotlight now.
The past twelve months for both women has been something special for different reasons, for Sasha she has thrived professionally with two women's title reigns and having an acting role on Disney's Star Wars hit TV show "The Mandalorian" for Becky is has been more personal, having a daughter only a few months ago after having given up her Raw women's championship.
At the press event both women got a loud cheer as they came on stage, Becky looking in great shape judging by her figure in a black T-shirt under a leather jacket, black denim jeans, with black trainers with yellow trim, Sasha off course looking hot in a blue dress that matches her current hair colour, she has her rings that say "boss" on them.
Two of the Four Horsewomen here going nose to nose, not looking so friendly as they look each other over, more so Sasha to see what sort of shape Becky is actually in as duelling chants ring out.
Separating as the stage hands give them a microphone each, Sasha is quick to start as she says "it is nice to see you Becky honestly, over the years me and you haven't really fought that much, not when you compare what we have done with Bayley and Charlotte (Flair)" with Becky shrugging her shoulders with a look that says she doesn't really care.
"I guess the simple reason is I was the leader of our group, the stand out talent while you used to be the steam punk chick that was in my shadow, then you became (does quotation marks with her fingers) the man, then suddenly you are headlining Wrestlemania's, see Becky while you were gone I was reminding the world that I am the frickin Boss! I run the women's division, I am the face" yells Sasha as she points at Becky.
Who interrupts "Sasha you know for nearly a year I've had to basically get ready to be a mother, I am not here for your rants, I'm here to fight" dropping the microphone as she goes for Sasha, who retreats back as security holds Becky back.
"Whoa Becky! Save it for the ring bytch, I don't deal out beatings for free, I'll see you on Saturday" Sasha says with a cocky grin as she sees Becky desperately trying to fight her way through to her, leaving the stage with Lynch telling her she can't hide on Saturday.
Fighting time, somewhere Michael Cole is shouting "it's Boss Time" as first out through the curtain as her cousin Snoop Dogg sings her song live is Sasha, she is wearing her gold "Boss" sunglasses and jewelry as she shows them off, strutting down to the ring as if she owns it all.
Climbing into the ring after handing her stuff to her coach to keep safe, Sasha slides into the ring wearing a black sports bra with gold trim, black trunks with gold flames up the sides, "Boss" written on the back on gold, black shoes with gold flames on, black gloves with gold thumbs as her hair is tied into a ponytail.
Sasha mounts each corner as she pounds her chest with her right glove, the Banks fans are chanting "Boss!" At her, she finishes in her corner as she looks focused, using her coaches hands as punch pads to warm up.
The familiar sound of Becky's theme song starts up as out comes Becky to a loud roar, fireworks go off around the arena as she stands with her arms in the air, smirking as she enjoys the love the fans are giving her.
Jogging to the ring as thousands of "The Man" signs are shown around the stadium, Becky is wearing her "Kill Bill" inspired gear of a black sports bra with yellow stripes on either side, matching trunks and shoes, yellow gloves with black thumbs, while her flame red hair is tied into a braid as she slides into the ring.
Standing up doing a lap inside the ring pumping her right fist as she looks in amazing shape, Sasha staring daggers at her for stealing her spotlight, Becky not caring as she settles into her corner wiping a tear away as this moment means so much to her, to be back in a ring fighting.
Once things settle down the fighters step to the center of the ring, verbally jousting as the stadium is electric, both women's nicknames being chanted with it hard to tell who is getting more love right now.
When they are told to touch gloves, there is a tense stand off as for the first time since they come together they go quiet, seeing what the other will do, quickly they swipe their gloves together to show some respect, though both seem more keen on proving they are the better woman to the world, back in their corners ready, the bell rings to start 10 rounds of bantamweight action.
Round 1:
"Ding!" The crowd roar already as both women circle on their toes, well drilled jabs being exchanged as they stare hard through the gloves to their opponent, eyeing up for any tells that they can use later.
The action is then pushed by Sasha, who tests the reflexes of Becky with a one-two combo that Becky steps out the way of, before it is Lynch throwing the same combo back that just misses to cheers as both women have to nod to the other in respect that the speed they got out of danger there.
As they resume trading shots with more force as the first minute passes by, Sasha is the one forcing the issue as Becky looks a little tentative, "The Boss" steps in with a jab that Becky blocks, two right hooks come around to test the body of Lynch, who takes them comfortable enough, Banks though smirks.
Next time Sasha tries to step in, Becky pops her in the mouth with a straight, then a left cross that makes Banks retreat back, both are timing the other well already as they stare harder now, knowing they need to be at their best tonight.
Final minute of the round sees both women let their hands go, wanting to emerge on top, they plant their feet as duelling chants ring out, not every shot lands, neither fighters will to win can be questioned this early on as they fight to the bell, Becky pounding her chest with her left glove as she tells Sasha to "f***ing fight me!" Sasha getting into her face as the referee nudges them apart, ordering them to their corners.
Round 2:
Maybe it was the need to shake off some ring rust or some confidence issue, Becky is on the attack from the off as she stuns Sasha a little with her frontal assault, Sasha knocked back to the outside of the ring by a one-two combo into her face.
Keeping the center of the ring behind her, Becky is walking down her opponent, Sasha firing back as the crowd is loving this, punches landing through mitts into stunning faces, Becky looks on a mission right now as she is outworking her opponent.
Sasha finds herself shoved onto the ropes, with Becky the one working her body, throwing in hooks as she has her head dipped down, Lynch is pressuring her American foe, Sasha needing to give her a shove so she can get off the ropes.
While Becky kicked off the round like a freight train, Sasha in the final minute starts to catch her out with her footwork, sidestepping the aggressive redhead before pounding in straights to the cheeks of Lynch to knock her head back.
At the rounds conclusion Sasha curses herself as she goes to sit on her stool, Becky smiling as she leans against the turnbuckles, looking like she missed a good fight as much as some enjoy a good drink.
Round 3:
Knowing that the charge is coming from her opponent, Sasha makes sure to get out her corner quickly, she looks the lighter on her feet as she moves around the ring, slamming in single punches to the beautiful face of Becky.
Who is a little too open, trying to land a big hook to stop Sasha being as mobile, even taunting her rival to stand and trade with a smile, knowing that Sasha won't do it but using anything she can to try it seems.
Like how in the last round Becky was dominant, Sasha is living up to her moniker of "The Boss" as she bosses Becky around the ring, stepping in with a one-two combo that knocks back Becky a step, the Irish lass forced to cover up as Banks has a cocky smirk.
Also like Becky when Sasha is looking comfortable, she walks into a straight off her left cheek, Becky now knocking back her opponent across the ring with three piston like punches into her face, just missing with a right hook though as she takes too long to set it up.
Final moments of the round sees Becky and Sasha landing some stiff punches through guards into bodies or cheeks, Sasha planting her feet a little more up till the bell rings, with Sasha telling Becky "you ain't beating me bytch" making "The Man" grin at her before they step to their corners to get their marked up faces cleaned up.
Round 4:
Sasha continues to be a pain in the backside of Becky at the start of this round, jabbing squarely into the face of Lynch before she moves out of danger, the Banks fans are getting louder as they feel their girl is starting to get the better of things.
After the opening thirty seconds Becky gets her fans roaring when she sets a trap for her opponent, pretending she is going to throw a left hook, she actually throws a right as Sasha moves to her left, it turns Banks head around to the delight of the Irish fighters fans.
Crowding Sasha into a corner, Becky is beating her around her abs, some punches maybe by accident land across the chest of Banks, who is trying to fight her out, has to settle for clinching Lynch to force the referee to break them apart.
Now back into space Becky is forcing the issue, stepping after Sasha as they are trading jabs, both trying to enforce their will on this fight with their cheeks getting red marks on them now, Becky not wanting to give her opponent room to breath.
A right smacks Sasha on her mouth to force her back to the ropes, Becky in tight again as she works the abs of Banks, bodies grinding in close as the bell soon rings with Becky moving back hands in the air, Sasha in frustration shoves Becky to her face, nearly causing a brawl as the referee risks their health to get between the warring women, insults flying as coaches need to help settle things down enough to get them back to their stools.
Round 5:
Becky comes out looking to take the fight to Sasha again, missing though with a straight punch as the American slips it then strikes with a right into the stomach of Lynch, who grits her gumshield before two left punches land at the side of her head.
Still looking upset about Sasha's disrespect shove might explain why Becky isn't using her jab as much, that is helping Sasha move more freely as she hasn't that measuring stick being fired at her as often.
A one-two combo lands smack on Becky's lips, a right cross follows as blood now runs from the bottom lip of Lynch, Sasha targeting it cruelly as she doubles up her jab, making Becky grimace as now the redhead has to tighten her guard up.
With time ticking away this round, Becky surprises the cocky Sasha by parrying her jab so she can land a left across the cheek of the Mandalorian actress, pressing her back towards the ropes with two more punches into her beautiful face, till Sasha can push back Becky to open up the gap between them.
Sasha then surprises Becky by dipping under a straight so she can go to work on the body, Becky grunting out as she is forced onto the ropes, crowd split as they are cheering both women on so loud that the bell is nearly missed by everyone in the ring, referee realising that it has rung by the third bell to step in to break the fighters apart.
Sitting on their stools with sweat dripping off their brows, Becky seems to be starting to breath a little harder, even with all her hard training to get into this shape, can she really have the stamina to go long, especially if Sasha keeps working her toned body?
Round 6:
Circling at the center as Sasha is looking to attack the body more, Becky showing her resolve as she takes a few hits there to land some cross punches up top, when Becky goes for a right uppercut, Sasha retreats back quickly into space to dodge.
Sasha looks to be upping the tempo now, doubling up her jab and switching her targets more as Becky has to try to protect herself better, guard tightening up as she gives up some ground to Banks in these exchanges.
In the second minute Becky steps in as Sasha goes for a right cross, landing a straight to her nose that has Sasha trickling blood from it, now both are even on the blood front as Sasha retreats back mouthing "bytch" at Becky.
The redhead comes in closer now as she uses little nudges to make sure Sasha can't settle her feet as well, driving back the younger woman towards the ropes as her supporters are cheering her on, Becky throwing to the body as she wants to wear down her opponent.
Who comes firing back as they grind foreheads, toe to toe they go to the body in the closing moments of the round, crowd on it's feet as even after the bell they trade a few more shots before being pushed apart, a few taunts being exchanged before they turn on their heels to their corners to be cleaned up.
Round 7:
This has been a back and forth battle from the off, it continues in that same vein as Becky tries to force her way through Sasha right away, landing three punches with a jab/straight up top before a right hook to the body finishes the combo.
Getting Banks near the ropes, Sasha turns Becky by using her momentum against her, then the body of Lynch is being targeted, Becky shutting her left eye as those punches are starting to get to her it seems clearly, that ring rust might finally be coming through.
Becky now the one to clinch Sasha, who mocks her "that baby fat still there I see" Becky's eyes narrow at that, trying to grapple each other on the ropes as the referee struggles to break them up.
When they are Sasha is quick to strike with a double jab into the busted lips of Becky, who finds herself backpedaling behind her gloves as Sasha seems to be taking firm control of things, especially with her repeated attacks on those abs of Lynch.
As the bell rings Becky can't hide that she is breathing harder as she returns to her corner, Sasha with a rye smile on her face even if she has to be feeling the pace somewhat herself, still she is thinking that Becky is running on fumes right now.
Round 8:
There does seem to be less of a spring to Becky's step as they kick off the round, Sasha able to move more on her toes as she continues to cruelly bash Becky on those bloody lips, blood running onto Becky's chest as she winces out.
When Sasha goes for a hard looking straight, Becky slips it enough to step in with an uppercut into the body of Sasha, Banks groaning out before a left hook smacks into her ear to make her stumble a step to her left side, the crowd on their feet again, somehow they are still finding their voice in this electric atmosphere.
Becky now pushing the action as she slams in digs to the body of Sasha, powering her into a corner where the blue haired fighter pulls her into a clinch, both breathing hard into the others ear, Becky says "not so tough are ya?" Which makes Sasha look furious now.
Split apart so they can fight on, cruelly both women target the others wounds, blood with sweat goes flying as while the amount of punches might be going down in volume, neither is holding back as they slug the other into their marked up face, with puffiness now starting to form on cheeks.
Clinching up again in the final moments, both is slamming short digs into bodies as they shut their eyes, at the bell the referee breaks them up as they keep going, locked in a nasty dance, returning to their corners where they both get washed down, chests are rising faster as they take in as much air as they can, desperate to emerge on top of this almost primal clash between two so evenly matched warriors.
Round 9:
Coming together at the center of the ring, heads down slightly as they slug it out in tight, crowd going as back and forth as the fighters are in this exchange, TILL BECKY SURPRISES EVERYONE WITH HER LEFT FOREARM BUMPING BACK SASHA, A RIGHT HOOK COMES FLYING IN THAT CRACKS SASHA ON THE JAW! TURNED AROUND SASHA STUMBLES DOWN TO ALL FOURS!
The stadium is deafening with different camps yelling, Becky goes to the neutral corner to lean on the turnbuckles as she watches close to what happens, 1...2...3...4.. Sasha shakes her head as she tries to clear out the cobwebs, 5...6.. Crawling to the ropes, 7...8.. She grabs the middle rope, 9.. Trying to pull herself up, 10 Sasha falls down as she hasn't the strength to do so!
Winner Becky Lynch KO Round 9
After:
What a comeback story! To go away from the ring to have a child and then to come back to fight such a tough opponent, winning this fight has the Becky supporters jumping for joy as the stadium chants her name.
Over to Sasha goes the winner, slipping her gloves off as she kneels down to help Sasha with her gloves, Sasha looks at Becky wondering what she is doing with some distrust, but Becky helps up Sasha as the two rivals hug it out.
Becky sheds a few tears as she thanks Sasha for one hell of a fight, Sasha can't help but smile as there are probably a few teary eyes in the stadium right now, both putting their rivalry aside for a moment for a heartfelt moment.
Lifting up Sasha's right hand to the crowd, Becky smiles warmly as Sasha nods her thanks to her fellow four horsewomen, maybe tonight bonding them more then anytime they've been in a wrestling ring together.
Separating as Sasha is helped to her corner, Becky also happy to see her stool as she admits to her coach "God! How did I do that?" The coach jokes "because you are the Man of course" both laughing as Becky grabs the cool towel to cover her face with.
After several minutes for the women to recover from this war, they come to the center of the ring for the final result, Sasha fist bumps Becky in a sign of respect before the winner gets her right arm lifted to make the result official.
Leaving the ring after telling Becky "we are going to fight again" Sasha gets told off Becky "anytime Boss" which makes Sasha wink at her, she lost but Sasha showed she could go to war in the boxing ring, high fives for her supporters as they haven't lost any love for her, maybe gaining more respect for her after tonight.
In the ring the fireworks go off as Becky looks to the heavens, hands on her hips as she smiles, tonight ends with Becky standing tall and maybe looking to the future as this seems only to be the beginning of a new chapter for her.
