VIX: Heartstoppers @ the St. John Arena (Feb 14)

(Results: Lookout! Words: Caspian)
1. Alyssa Lynch vs Nicola Peltz
Alyssa:
(24, 5’7, 120, 30:12 FCBA, VIXENs)

Nicola:
(26, 5’5, 0:4 FCBA, Free Agent)

BEFORE:
Alyssa looking cocky at the press conference as she flexes both arms with a grin, posing on stage in a dark olive bikini before taking questions from reporters:
“Look, Peltz has lost all her fights. Do I need to say more?”
When a reporter points out that she did indeed say the same thing when she faced off against Hunter King just two weeks ago, Alyssa almost goes red in the face. “That was different. Hunter had more fights under her belt. Peltz has nothing by comparison.”
Nicola Peltz of course feels different, the blonde posing in a pink and black bikini top, and white boxing trunks before responding from her seat at the press table. “Alyssa’s definitely shown some weakness and holes in her armour - holes I plan to exploit tonight. I’m happy to hand her her second consecutive loss of 2021.”
Ladies square up and it’s a tense staredown between blonde and brunette, with Alyssa having a two-inch height advantage but her confidence wavering these past couple of weeks after that disappointing loss. Nicola has had a poor record, yes, but that nothing-to-lose attitude might see her score the very first win of her career.
Hours later, we’re back in the St. John’s Arena and ready to kick off this VIX event. The entire place has been decorated with the theme of the day, with red streamers hanging from the ceiling and even a kiss-cam for the audience to feel the Valentine Day spirit.
No love between the two fighters, however, as they bang their fists together a little too hard before the referee orders them back to their corners. With the DING! of the bell, HERE WE GO with ten rounds of Bantamweight action!
ROUND 1:
Nicola pelting that jab forward like a fast-action machine gun, harassing Alyssa’s head as the blonde flies into action early at the bell. Alyssa’s used to dealing with blonde aggression but still surprised by the newcomer’s grit and spirit, having trouble intercepting all of Nicola’s attacks as she gets her face poked repeatedly by jabs. Nicola pushes forward confidently, stacking up the brunette with some nice shots to her nose, drawing further grunts from Alyssa, who only until the final minute begins to take her opponent seriously and circle out, controlling Peltz’s advance with jabs of her own. The two women exchange more pleasantries in the middle of the ring, socking each other to the face with mutual but determined grunts, though Alyssa perhaps regrets getting entangled in this last minute melee after the bell rings too early, meaning she didn’t get a chance to redeem her opening performance. Nicola takes it close.
ROUND 2:
The Vixen’s learnt her lesson, staying far away this time, socking Nicola across the lips or sending a straight hand into the body as she pays the blonde back in spades. Peltz works to get in close and brawl once more but gets interrupted by her taller foe’s attacks, with Alyssa’s jabbing hands striking her face with precision and speed, each time rocking Nicola on the spot and forcing an abrupt brake to her ambitions. Minute three and Nicola’s been forced to pay more attention to defending her head, catches Alyssa back with a cross hand to the mouth, which stuns her briefly before the blonde bashes her on the tummy with a fast one-two combo. It’s clear neither girl is about to give this fight up just yet, but the round ends with Lynch securing a comeback wide for now.
ROUND 3:
Peltz’s still relentless, apparently driven forward by the prospect of the first-ever win of her career as she slams punches into Alyssa’s arms good and early, and maintains her aggressive pace from there on out. Alyssa doesn’t know what hit her as the first cross hits her guard and another right hand’s sunk into the body, the brunette pushed backwards by the shorter but stockier girl. Nicola huffing and puffing and looking to blow the leaner girl off her feet, but Lynch no slouch either as she does her best to maintain a good distance, countering wayward hooks with either a hard parry to the side before she ROCKS a hook of her own into Peltz face for payback. End of the round and both girls are undeniably breathing hard as they pass each other back to corners.
ROUND 4:
Back and forth we go as Peltz tries to keep her momentum going, but fails, an early blitz rush towards Alyssa stopped abruptly when the Vixen managed to stand her ground, absorb a glancing strike across her arms before barreling a right hook clean across Nicola’s face. POW!! Nicola stumbling right, eyes wide and not knowing what the hell hit her. Lynch, following the wayward girl, continues to bash insults into her side and across the arms, this time looking to score big with a possible knockdown. But Nicola clinches up with her on the ropes, repeatedly forcing the referee to intervene over and over again, and more importantly, buy the blonde some time to catch her breath. Last few seconds and Alyssa finds herself losing patience, her body sagging into her opponent’s at the bell as she roughly shoves a shoulder into Peltz, barking on her way back to corner, “Fight me properly, b*tch!”
ROUND 5:
She gets her wish in the fifth, however, when Peltz tries to hold her ground at the sound of the bell, but Alyssa’s sudden and aggressive advance almost blows her over on the spot: a one-two jab combo tests the blonde’s defences with a grunt, followed by an overhand ROCKER that slams hard into the blonde’s face! AND THAT SEEMS TO HAVE DONE IT! Peltz reeling backwards in shock, just about ready to go down! Lynch on her case every step of the way, another uppercut chopping her body in half followed by a swift hook sent across the chin, and DOWN PELTZ GOES, floored onto her back as she lies splayed out like a department store mannequin! Referee takes one look and waves the rest of the fight off! IT’S OVER!
Official Decision: Alyssa Lynch defeats Nicola Peltz via KO5!
AFTER:
Arms up in the air as Lynch secures a much-needed comeback win tonight. She was on track for another top-ten evaluation by the end of the year, only to get halted by a disappointing loss against Hunter King in January’s PPV. Now, she paces around the ring, acknowledging the fans with a wide grin and blown kisses, totally ignoring Peltz who’s receiving medical attention in the corner.
“I took her down easy. Yet another cocky blonde who thinks she’s all that but unable to back it up,” Alyssa says to reporters later. “We’ll see what happens in 2021, but I can tell you one thing: I’m ready to crack the ceiling this year.”
