TESS VALMORE
As usual Asylum fans paid their money hoping to see 60 rounds of boxing. They got 38. While that might not seem like a lot, it was ten more rounds than they got in the December Asylum. Since all the visitors were making their FCBA debut. We will concentrate our comments on the Front Street members
The first fight of the night was a wake up call for Meg Donnelly. While her opponent Haley Lu Richardson’s credentials are still unknown it was not a good performance from Donnelly, She was decked in the second and was behind on the cards the whole fight until she pulled it out with a eighth round KO. Of course, any time you win it’s a good night, but it signals Donnelly needs more attention from the trainers.
Merrrit fought Del Toro to a standstill in the first four before being caught with a blistering right that dropped her for the count
Once again, in the Camacho/Mudd fight, the visitor was winning on the cards going into the sixth. Her dreams of winning ended then when Mudd landed a right hook
The Radio/Dennings were even at the end of four. Dennings ended in the fight. Even though Dennings won, the number eleven ranked bantam looked flat
Ellish/Chamberlain followed the script of the fights all night. Going into the seventh, the two were even on the cards when Ellish pulled it out with a KO
In the final fight, Sharbino was ahead on the cards at the end of six. That was the trend all night. McMann won the bout with a sixth round KO. McMann and Hill are making the move to push Arterton and that singer who is definitely not my friend to the back of the lightweight bench where they belong
I have it on good authority that one of the six visitors is last stages of serious talks to join a prominent stable by mid-year at the latest. I can’t release the name to protect the negotiations and keep other stables from horning in
