Our reporter and his blonde companion enter the office at The Manor to find, as usual on Asylum Sunday, Beth Harnois and Avril Lavigne sipping designer coffees on the huge, overstuffed couch, their bare feet on the huge, overstuffed Ottoman. The blonde grabs a coffee with her name on it and takes a sip.
Tess: "Ahhh. That's good stuff. Great way to start a busy day."
The Man In The Hat smiles behind his huge desk and takes a sip of something colder and stronger. "So is this."
Avril: "I've been here six years and still don't know how you do that..."
Beth: "Oh, Wizziepooh loves his PBR."
Reporter: "Can we talk about the pay-per-view? Since Cassie took over the press conference, we didn't get to ask you about Front Street's fights. What was your feeling on Graham? Another big opportunity lost?"
Man In The Hat: "The question isn't whether or not she took advantage of the opportunity. We know that she didn't. The question is, did she earn more opportunities. It says here that she did. Obviously, we'd have loved to see Kat break through with a huge win, and, any win against Portman would be huge. But. As I've said many times and as our former commissioner always pointed out, sometimes it's not the results of the fight or a particular round, but what HAPPENS in the rounds. What happened on Friday night was a lot of good stuff from Kat. I liked what I saw. I want to see more of it."
Tess: "How about Decker? Two losses in a row now..."
Man In The Hat: "True, but to some great competition."
Tess: "What happens with her now? Is she still in The Big Four?"
Man In The Hat: "I'll take those as separate questions. First, Brooke's already fought five times this year. That's what most of our girls get in an entire year, and she's had that in seven months. We'd planned to rest her until fall, but we couldn't pass up the fight. HOWever. We are now unplugging Brooke completely, just as we did Chloe earlier this year. She will do nothing but conditioning in August and will return to actual training in September. She will not fight again before October. We're going to try to get her one more fight this year, as I wouldn't like to see her go five months without a fight. Right now, we're on a pace to have a couple of extra fight slots by the end of the year, and, if that's the case, Brooke will get one."
Tess: "What about The Big Four?"
Man In The Hat: "That's all changing now. The lights are being shaken up. Everybody's getting big fights. Anna won hers. Gems, Katy, and Dani still have theirs to come. Serinda's gotten back in the picture and don't forget Kesha, who's probably fighting light the rest of the year. When all the dust settles, it probably won't BE a Big Four. And, if it is, membership will be different. We'll just have to wait and see."
Reporter: "OK. Elephant in the room. Decker, Ruah, and Dennings are hosting the Queendom event in October. Front Street doesn't do JMD. These things would seem to be at odds..."
Man In The Hat: "First. We have not changed our minds about doing JMD. That being said, we have a good relationship with Stephanie McMahon..."
Avril: "Who saw THAT coming..."
Man In The Hat: "She's requested that we participate in this October card, and we've agreed to do that. She's also requested that we consider participating in future Queendom events in an in-ring capacity. Again, we've made no changes in our JMD stance. We are, however, considering her request. And, that's all the news I have for you. Now, get to church. We've got a big day today."
