TESS VALMORE
The Vix birthday Bash featured eight bouts. One flyweight fight, three bantam bouts, three lightweight bouts and one welter
The first two bantam fights were rematches, Korkunova/A.Lynch and Kawalec/Ratajkowski. Lynch and Ratajkowski won the first bouts and to no one’s surprise Lynch and Ratajkowski won the rematch. The most important of the bantam fights, was Beckinsale/McCarthy in the first of five in Beckinsale’s drive to get into the Hall Of Fame. Beckinsale notched her 57th win in her 98 fight. Should she win the next two, she would still be short by one on the win side to be admitted into the Hall Of Fame. She will need five straight wins to qualify. Should Mac win two of these fights, it will be difficult for Beckinsale to qualify unless she goes for obvious mismatches
A year or so Gibbs breached into the top ten. Those days are over. She was ranked at 24 and lost to the 56th ranked Hailey Clauson. I suspect she may drop a position or two, but I question if she will ever make it back into the top ten. Ren’s is ranked at three in both Boxing World and Tractorpull. Her win over Harrison will gain her nothing as it was a gimme. It will probably hurt her. I expect her to drop in the ranks as DiDonato, Swift and even Strahovski may forge ahead of her, The big win of the night among the lightweights was Rohrbach’s win over Agdal. That should cause her to jump into the teens in the lightweights ranking and Agdal to drop out of the top twenty. It was Rohrbach’s fifth straight win, although two of those wins were at JMD
In the main event bout between two “Alpha” blondes, Ferguson took care to Decker in eight. The win could well get Ferguson a title shot between the winner of the Lawrence/Palicki fight in the December PPV. There is just one problem. There is another “Alpha” blonde standing the way. Her name in Kate Upton. It will be interesting to see who the new or current champion will choose
