We kick off tonights FNL card in Mexico City Arena with two young guns wanting to show they are the better prospect, Natalia Dyer and Becky G both are seen as being a big future part of the flyweight division, tonight will both showcase their talents.
Over the past year it is Natalia whose found more success, winning three of her six fights compared to two wins in five fights for Becky, who has the added pressure of fighting in front of her family.
A lot of pundits also want to see how both women will be around each other, Natalia has a cold serious demeanor compared to the firecracker like personality of Becky, fire and ice normally don't mix and many don't believe it will here.
Before the contest Alicia Atout got word from both women in their locker rooms, Natalia was up first as she was getting her green robe on with gold trim, nodding to Alicia as the interviewer come in the room.
Asked for a few words about the fight, Natalia tells Alicia "I am simply here to beat Becky and go home, I know the crowd will be rallying against me, normally I hate not giving a crowd what they want but tonight will be an exception" stretching as her coach smiles watching how confident they are.
"Natalia has this in the bag, Becky will expose herself to punishment once she realises she can't outbox her, then we want bigger fights for Natalia" says her coach as Natalia remains stone faced.
Alicia then heads into the Latina Knockouts locker room, finding Becky hitting punch pads on the hands of the coach Roselyn Sanchez, who can be heard saying "that's great Becky, come on another crisp one-two" before Becky lands a quick jab/straight to the gloves.
When Becky sees Roselyn, she gets a nod that she can have a quick moment to speak her mind, Becky grinning as she yells "come over Alicia, I'm in a hell of a mood" with Alicia moving closer at a safe distance still.
"Finally I am back where I belong it seems, my family are here to cheer me on, I have had so many fans seen me messages telling me to kick Natalia's ass back to Hollywood" says an excited sounding Becky as she bounces on her toes.
Then she adds "god I want to fight right now, bare knuckle, with the gloves on, I don't really care other then wanting to show my fans I'm the best damn fighter around here, f**k those fakes that think they are tough!" Roselyn yelling for her to come over and keep on warming up, she nods to Alicia to leave as clearly she can see Gomez losing her focus as she looks ready to run out the door to the ring already.
Fighting time; Natalia heads out to mostly boos, she doesn't look too bothered as she marches down the aisle, her coach telling her to show the fans why she is the best in the world.
Getting help with her green robe, Natalia steps into the ring wearing a green bikini with gold trim, green gloves, while her hair is tied back into a ponytail, she bounces on her toes in her corner banging her gloves together.
Out comes Becky now with Roselyn to a heroes welcome, the crowd clearly hoping she starts their night off with a win as they chant her name, Becky jogging down the aisle with a smirk on her face.
Climbing into the ring, Gomez is wearing a white bikini with green trim, red gloves to show off her Mexican pride, her hair tied into a braid, jogging to her corner she mounts the bottom ropes, flexing her arms as she tells the crowd in Mexican that she is going to f*** up Dyer to a loud roar, for her part Natalia rolls her eyes.
After the fighters seem warmed up, the referee waves the two to the center of the ring, where they stare hard into each others eyes, the tension clear to see as both know the important statement they'll make with a win tonight.
They swipe they gloves into their opponent's set before turning back to their corners, the crowd cheering loudly as the fighters bounce on their toes, the bell rings to start 10 rounds of flyweight action.
Round 1:
The crowd roars as the bell rings, Becky as usual is looking to keep moving forwards to attack, though she is meeting a good jab that is landing more often then not right away.
Natalia for being young doesn't seem fazed by the crowd, sticking to straight shots to the top of Becky's head, landing some to her chest as the opening minute is nearly all the actress with her footwork and reach proving an early issue.
On comes Becky though as she dips under a straight to bury in a right to the body of Natalia, then lands an overhand left to the jaw of the taller fighter, pressing forwards as the crowd cheer for every punch she throws, whether they land or don't.
Shoving back Becky to create some distance, Natalia catches the overly keen Becky with a jab/straight square into her face to knock back the Latin blooded fighter, taking the ring center for herself.
For all the support from the crowd, Becky is struggling to make much headway, she is landing some body shots but is mainly getting pushed back by the straight punches into her face.
The round comes to an end with Natalia not showing much pleasure at winning the round, mostly staying stone faced as she goes back to her corner, clearly only interested in winning this then making a point for the crowd.
Round 2:
Showing a bit more upper body movement to stop being such an easy target, Becky looks to be giving Natalia more a headache now, both landing hard shots on the inside as the crowd favourite forces the issue more.
A nudge back from Dyer, allows her to bang in three punches to the face of Gomez, forcing back the smaller woman to the outside of the ring, herding her near the ropes with Becky needing to tighten up her guard.
Slipping a straight, Becky is able to get herself off the ropes, landing an overhand right to the cheek of Dyer, a left hook to the ribs as now she is on the inside, focusing on the body of her fellow American to drive her back towards the center of the ring.
Becky forcing the issue now, Natalia struggling the match the intensity of Gomez, who lands an uppercut to knock back Dyer to her heels, sending her into a corner as Natalia is covering up as the final thirty seconds she finds herself under fire.
The round comes to an end with Natalia looking like she stops herself swearing as she turns to head to her corner, Becky playing up to the crowd cupping her ears as the crowd cheers her.
Round 3:
Both firing more punches now as they are fully warmed up to the task, Becky dips down to try to come in closer, is met with a double jab to the top of her head to force her back to range as Natalia has already shown she can't match the firecracker Gomez on the inside.
Starting to press back Becky near the ropes, Natalia looks comfortable as she keeps Becky at range, the opening minute seeing her land some hard shots to the face of the singer to snap her back her head.
A missed right though leaves Natalia open to two hooks to the body as Becky shows her turn of speed, an uppercut catches Natalia on her chin again as Becky is forcing the issue again.
Back across the ring goes Dyer as she finds herself now pressed onto the ropes, working the body of the actress now, Becky is barking in effort as she hammers her fellow youngster to roars from the crowd.
Even after nudging back Becky, Natalia is finding herself being drawn into a slugfest, Becky channeling her Latina blood, not backing up as she forces the tempo, heads getting turned from cross shots.
But as the bell dings to end the round, Becky is the one enjoying what is happening, Natalia stares with the first real hint of emotion as she thuds her gloves together in a sign if frustration not being able to keep the excitable Gomez back.
Round 4:
Trying to change things up now, Natalia let's Becky come at her before countering her, slamming in some hard shots across the stunning face of her smaller opponent, who keeps trying to come forwards.
Soon enough Becky has to give up pressing forwards as keenly, blood starts running from her nose as Natalia is landing too cleanly for her and her corners enjoyment, leading to Becky being shoved back to the outside.
Natalia looking more relaxed again, with punches drilling into gaps in the guard of Gomez, especially targeting the chest of the pint sized warrior to make her hiss out as Natalia looks to open her fully up for the bigger punches.
The never say die attitude of Becky though is firmly on show after the halfway point of the round, she parries a right cross so she can counter strike with a right onto the mouth of Dyer.
Who suddenly finds herself being hit more by a resurgent Becky, who is like the Duracell Bunny it seems, both cracking the other with hooks to cheeks, blood flies in the air when Becky is getting clocked.
That pressure from Becky leads to a mistake from her opponent, missing with a wild right over the head of Becky, Natalia eats an uppercut to her jaw that rocks her backwards, the bell rings to possibly save her from more punishing punches.
Round 5:
Looking a little unsure of herself, Natalia starts to show some cracks as Becky even with her cheeks showing some swelling, is able to press onwards with her punches landing more often now.
Ducking under a right cross from Natalia, Becky lands an uppercut again to snap back the head of the actress, AN OVERHAND LEFT LANDS PERFECTLY ON THE CHIN OF NATALIA TO SEND HER DOWN TO HER BACK!
Pounding her chest as she stares down at Natalia, Becky looks hyped up as the referee needs to order her to the neutral corner, 1...2...3.. Natalia spits her gumshield out as her eyes are shut, 4...5...6.. Natalia holds her jaw but isn't moving much more, 7...8...9...10 Natalia is counted out!
Winner Becky G KO Round 5
After:
A stunning knockout has the crowd on its feet, Becky raises her arms in the air as she looks out to the fans, looking a proud warrior with blood running from her nose to make her look even more impressive.
She heads over to Natalia to pose with her foot on her chest, flexing her arms as the crowd chant her name, Natalia looking up at Becky with tears in her eyes as she looks furious at being treated this way.
The Empresses coach gets Becky off their fighter, with Becky mockingly blowing them a kiss before telling them "tell Natalia to call me if she wants to be made my bytch again" giggling as she jogs back to her corner.
Natalia helped to sit up, pulling her gloves off and tossing them to the canvas in a rage, the coach wipes her down before they help her out the ring, knowing she won't get any sympathy from this crowd.
In the ring Becky has her gloves taken off, she looks proud of herself as Roselyn pats her on her back for a great finish, Becky already asking if she can get Victoria Justice there to fight.
After she is cleaned up, Becky heads to the ring center so she can get her hand raised, the crowd chanting her name as she blows kisses to them, telling them she loves them before posing for the cameras.
Heading out the ring to head to the back, this was a gutsy win for Becky, question now of course is can she begin to charge up the rankings again? Her management team certainly hope so as Roselyn is beaming.
