Elyse wanted nothing more than to get in her car and speed home. Unfortunately, after every fight, even CBAD ones, the press finds a way to stick a microphone in your face. She gave the answers as best she could. After all it was a slaughter. No two ways about it. Short and quick answers. That was her solution. And one shot at Kristen for good measure. Elyse couldn’t help herself. She was pissed.
The interviews finally ceased and Elyse found her way to the parking lot. It was still full of cars of her own trainers, media personnel, and Kristen’s crew. Elyse had made a point to be the first one out of the building.
Or so she thought.
“That was absolutely pathetic,” giggled a voice behind her.
Elyse’s eyes widened. She snapped around to see her standing in the light: Milana Vayntrub.
Milana had handed Elyse her second loss of her FCBA career. A shocking upset sandwiched between a predictable Billie Eilish loss and a humiliating Kristen Bell one. What was worse was how he beat Elyse. Pulverizing her into a pulp until the ref had to step in to protect her wellbeing.
Elyse tightly gripped her keys.
“What do you want?” Elyse asked, her voice quivering slightly.
Milana took a few steps forward and brushed Elyse’s hair out of her eye, “My my, she really did a number on you.” Her fingers traced the purple bruise that had started to form on the side of Elyse’s eye. A mark of her defeat and Kristen’s dominance. “I’m a little jealous, I thought only I could embarrass you like that.”
“I’m not embarrassed,” Elyse lied.
“Well then you’re an idiot,” quipped Milana. “But that’s not why I’m here. To be honest I wanted to see you here regardless of your outcome.”
“Why is that?” asked Elyse.
“I have a… proposition for you,” said Milana. “I want you. And I want you tonight.”
“Sorry, I’ve already got a husband,” said Elyse. “I’m flattered though, really.” Her voice dripped with sarcasm.
“Not in that way,” said Milana. “I… heard through the grapevine something about you… Meg Donnelly… and a club.”
“That was just-”
Milana placed a finger on Elyse’s lips.
“Shh,” she said. “I don’t want to know the details. All I want to know is if you’re game to take me on.”
Elyse blinked at her. She looked Milana up and down. Her finger still pressed against her lips. Milana pulled it back after a few more seconds of silence. Elyse had no idea what to think. On one hand she knew physically she was worn. Battered. Beaten. And while she got the OK from the medical staff, she probably shouldn’t be jumping into any more fights tonight. But as she remembered that night where Milana worked her over. Pinning her in the corner and brutalizing her body until she was defenseless. Blood ran into Elyse’s cheeks and forehead. Her keys received a firmer grip.
“I am,” said Elyse. “Any time, any place…”
“It’s no bar… but I think it’ll do,” said Milana.
The flood lights stayed on all night at the gym, but still it was covered in shadow. Milana led Elyse towards the back of the room. Their shoes clacked on the hardwood floor. Elyse had put on her sweats and a tank top. Milana still wore her tight white top that pressed her cleavage up along with svelte black pants. It seemed she had no issue ruining her outfit.
At the back of the yoga room was a row of smaller rooms, barely 10x10 feet apiece. Milana walked over to one and flipped on the lights. There was a blue mat sprawled out across the floor. Elyse poked her head in and noticed no padding along the wall. Getting slammed into that would hurt. She looked back at Milana, who sensed Elyse’s hesitation.
“Don’t tell me we came all the way out here just for you to chicken out,” Milana said.
Elyse didn’t answer. She simply stared Milana straight in the eye and began to remove her shoes. Milana answered with a smile and walked across the bigger room. She returned with a digital clock set to 00:00.
“I want to see how long it takes me to kick your ass…” she said.
The girls did their stretching, neither one willing to break eye contact with the other. When they had finished loosening up, Milana walked over to the door and shut it. Almost immediately Elyse realized how stagnant the air was going to become, with only the smallest crack under the door serving as a crosswind. Milana walked over to the clock and tapped the top of it. The numbers started going up… 00:01… 00:02… 00:003.
Elyse and Milana rushed toward each other and collided in the middle of the room.
Predictably, Milana’s strength won out at first as she took a handful of Elyse’s blonde locks and guided he backwards against the wall. She slammed her smaller opponent’s shoulders into the unpadded corner in the room and then followed with a chest-to-chest thumping that made Elyse’s knees buckle. Elyse however took hold of Milana’s hair and with whatever strength she could muster, managed to bang her shoulder into the wall.
That made Milana’s grip loosen a little bit. Elyse got herself out of the corner and started to press forward. She shot a knee to Milana’s midsection and then fired another one. The combo was enough to get the brunette to double over a bit. Elyse took advantage. As Milana bent over Elyse took her hand out of her hair and threw an uppercut to the bigger girl’s jaw. Milana’s head snapped backwards as her hands flew from Elyse’s hair. Her arms splayed against the wall. Jaw wide open. Elyse had complete control.
She pulled Milana off of the wall and drug her to the center of the room. Elyse checked the clock, they were already 3 minutes in. She lowered herself onto Milana, straddling her as she pinned the brunette locks to the mat. Elyse lifted up her right hand, ready to strike again, but Milana had other plans.
The bigger girl rammed two knees into Elyse’s back, which knocked her off balance. As Elyse’s butt scooted up onto Milana’s chest, the brunette teetered her shoulders to the side and pushed up on Elyse’s thighs. The blonde soon found herself toppled over onto her side, losing hold of Milana’s hair.
Elyse found her base, but unfortunately for her Milana hopped on top of her. She took Elyse’s left hand by the wrist and pulled it behind her back, jacking it up towards her neck. With her other hand, Milana grabbed hold of Elyse’s hair and slammed her head-first into the wall. The impact left an indentation as bits of drywall crumbled to the floor. Elyse’s body gave out from under her. Milana was more than happy to pick her head back up.
Milana worked her way to her feet, bringing Elyse along with her. She flung Elyse across the room and just as the blonde was sliding down the wall, Milana sprinted at her and made full impact chest-to face.
Elyse groaned in pain as she felt Milana’s squishy orbs bang against her nose. Milana took hold of Elyse’s hands and pinned them to the wall. The blonde was stuck.
The clock ticked away… 07:34.
Every passing second was another breath of air Elyse was losing. She had to do something. She had to think quick or else she risked being smothered out early in this fight. She did the only thing she could think. With her arms pinned, the legs were the only option. Elyse brought her right leg up and stuck her shin right between Milana’s legs. The brunette howled in pain as she released Elyse’s hair from her clutches. The bigger girl dropped to her knees, her hands clutching her crotch, as she fell over onto her side.
Elyse staggered away from her, panting and coughing to try to regain any semblance of air she could. Both ladies needed a few moments to recover. They both found themselves on their hands and knees at around the 8-minute mark. They faced each other and it was back on.
They straightened their bodies up as each girl clasped onto the other’s shoulders. Their chests banged together, Milana’s clearly getting the edge as she started bouncing Elyse back. Elyse knew she had to switch tactics so she tried to get onto her feet and charge forward. It worked, for a second. But Milana reacted quickly, tucking her knees up into her stomach and then snapping them forward. Her shins sunk into Elyse’s stomach and the blonde went up and over. Elyse slammed upside-down and back first into the wall.
Elyse had to scramble to get back to her stomach, but Milana was on her quick. The two rolled around on the floor, struggling for position over the other one. They left strands of hair and tattered pieces of their tops in their wake. Eventually Milana’s power won out as she straddled Elyse and handed her two punches to the ribcage plus a backhanded slap for good measure. Elyse flopped down onto the mat, panting heavily. Milana glanced over at the clock which read: 10:13.
Milana took Elyse by the base of the hair again and threw her against the wall, only this time it was face-first. Elyse began to fall to her knees, but Milana snatched her back up again before she could do that.
“Dirty little b*tch, how do you like it?” Milana whispered in Elyse’s ear.
With her legs spread out wide, Elyse knew what was coming. That didn’t make it hurt any less. Milana’s knee rammed up there… it sent shockwaves quivering throughout her entire body. But Milana didn’t stop at one. Or two. Or three. Or four.
Five. Five times Milana rammed her knee between Elyse’s legs. The brunette let her blonde rival slide down the wall and collapse into a sobbing heap.
“Come on, we’re not done yet…” said Milana.
She scooped Elyse up in her arms and turned her around so they faced each other. Milana’s chest pressed against Elyse’s. The blonde could feel the hot breath of her rival on her neck. She could feel the softness of her moon-pale skin. She could feel the muscles in her arms wrapping around her own torso. Elyse struggled, or at least attempted to, but the hold was in. A bearhug, and a damn tight one at that.
Milana giggled as she watched Elyse’s face contort in pain. She smiled sadistically, nodding along as Elyse let out wails of pain. The Comedienne felt her feet leave the floor, but not for too long. As much power as Milana had, she couldn’t keep Elyse there all day. She needed to take a break before lifting her back up, but Milana did it about five times.
“Why don’t you say it…” Milana said. “Just say those three petty little words and it’s all over. No more bearhug. No more fight. You get to go home to that husband of yours. And only you and I will ever know you said it.”
The clock ticked past 15 minutes as Milana held Elyse in her inescapable bearhug. Elsye shook her head, refusing to give Milana the satisfaction.
“No…? FINE!” Milana shouted as she somehow cranked up the pressure even more.
For two more minutes Milana’s grip constricted tighter and tighter around Elyse. The blonde thought for sure she was going to pop. She had the words on the tip of her lips…”I give up.” But they never came out. Elyse held strong until finally a numbness came over here. A sense of calm stemmed from one of dread. She titled her head back as her arms went limp by her sides. Her eyes began to close and the last thing she saw was the clock read: 17:21.
Elyse awoke in the driver’s side seat of her car. She was back at the arena, but every other car had left. She looked down into her cup holder to see her keys there. As she moved to pick them up an overwhelming rush of pain took over. She groaned out loud as she leaned her head forward against the steering wheel.
It was then that she started to cry. Sob even. Her hands shook as she covered her face. The tattered remains of her tank top did little to soak up her tears. She had just had two fights in one night, and both of them ended with a knockout. Elyse couldn’t even begin to think what she should do next.
