TROIAN BELLISARIO VS TASYA TELES
Results: Lookout Writing: Archer
Troian: 34 YO, 5’7 (1.70 m), 33-24-0, 29 KO since 2010, Pretty Little Punchers
Tasya: 35 YO, 5’9 (1.75 m), 4-1-0, 4 KO since 2020, Bonzo’s Gym
Before: Exotic Canadian beauty (Ukranian/Brazilian heritage) Tasya Teles from the CW series THE 100 has been making a splash in her debut year with KO wins over Erica Durance, Paula Patton, Kaley Cuoco and Missy Peregrym before having her win streak snapped in KO6 loss to Emily DiDonato. Now she tries to rebound against PLP veteran Troian Bellisario, a smaller lightweight but one with a solid winning record.
“I have no problem fighting a bigger opponent,” says Troian ahead of the fight, “I like the challenge and I think my experience factor will make up for the size difference.”
“Troian is clearly no one to underestimate, but my management and I have been training hard for this fight. I know you can’t really win all your fights, but that loss to DiDonato bothers me because I just plain don’t like to lose. I want to be a winner again, but I admit, this is not going to be easy trying to get it from Troian.”
Fight Night finds Tasya entering the ring and doffing her robe to reveal black string bikini bottom with a royal blue top. Black gloves and boots with blue laces. Dark hair pulled back in a battle braid. Troian enters the ring and removes robe to reveal light purple one piece swimsuit with dark purple gloves and boots (light purple laces). Hair in a double pigtail.
Ring instructions proceed briskly with no displays of temper. Both fighters look cool, but determined. Tap o’ the gloves and they are swiftly back in their corners. The bell sounds!
R1: Taysa and Troian both out quickly at the bell. Tasya looking to land hard on Troian, but the veteran proves able to duck and block these shots. Tasya keeps pushing forward, but then runs HARD into a smashing Troian right to the chin and then a left slams home to the chin as well. Tasya looking wobbly as she tries to back away. Troian advancing firing shots at head and body with enough variety that the woozy Tasya to slow to react. Troian scoring points by working Tasya midsection and snapping quick ones off Tasya’s head. Tasya trying to jab Troi back but not landing well enough to slow her up. Tasya under pressure to the bell. Round goes easily to Troian Bellisario.
R2: Out they come back, but this time Tasya seems to have Troian’s range. She stuffs a quick series of hooks into Troan’s abs. Troian doubles up and Tasya then brings rising punches into Troian’s upper body and face. Troian backpedaling away and trying to reset up behind her jab. Tasya now back to the body with her punches. Troian struggling to remain upright while trying stall Tasya with her jab, but she’s obliged to keep retreating (though she manages to stay clear of the ropes). Rounds ends and Tasya Teles wins this one wide.
R3: Tasya comes right back at Troian as the new round begins, but runs to Troian’s lightning right and left into her face. Tasya put on her heels and blood is dripping from her nose. Troian slams more leather into Tasya’s jaw and chin as Tasya struggles to get her counters going. Tasya finally gets her mitts up to protect her face, so Troian goes to the body with rib roasting rights and lefts and hard hooks to the belly. Tasya doubled up and in retreat as Troian now bounces shots off Tasya head and goes after flanks with repeated punching to Tasya’s side ribs. Tasya finally gets her jab going late and these do cause Troi to start circling as she looks for openings. Tasya staying with her and Troian not finding much as the round winds down. Troian wins the round by a wide margin.
R4: Tasya and Troian again head for mid ring and the punches start flying. Good smacks to the jaw and side of the head get things started. Then Tasya presses in close with pounding rights and lefts into Troi’s torso. Troian stands her ground and hammers Tasya right back to the body. The two are toe to toe, elbows moving in and out like pistons on a steam engine. The crowd watches in suspense as they watch to see who gives way. Then, Troian starts to shudder as Tasya’s gloved fists pound her rib cage over and over and then Tasya sees the chance and slips a right uppercut to the chin. Troian knocked back. She recovers and comes back at Tasya, but falters as Tasya puts more pressure on her ribs. Troian dropping back a step or two but still punching as the bell sounds to end the round. Tasya Teles able to pull ahead late and win a close round.
R5: PLP corner looking worried about Troian’s ribs during the break, but Troian making it clear she’s not about to quit on her stool. Tasya looking eager to get back in action as she sits on her stool. Bell rings and out they come. No surprise to see Tasya going after Troian’s tenderized ribs with a fresh barrage of punches. Troian trying to counter but she can’t seem to land with enough power to discourage the bigger woman. Then Tasya sees Troian’s high guard start to drop to protect those agonized ribs and instantly Tasya’s right hand cracks home under Troian’s chin. Troian’s head snaps back and Troian puts left and right hands into Troian’s exposed jaw. TIMBER! Troian’s arms drop to her sides and she just CRASHES down on her back, Tasya hurries to the neutral corner and then looks back with interest as the referee counts. Troian trying to get up, but she can’t seem to get her body to cooperate. She is still gamely struggling when referee’s count reaches:
“EIGHT!....NINE!...TEN!..YOU ARE OUT!”
THE WINNER: TASYA TELES DEFEATS TROIAN BELLISARIO KO5!
After: “I knew she couldn’t take my punching,” Tasya tells the press later. “I did have some trouble getting my punches in with power, but once I did, I knew I could wear her down. She was tough, though, and I feel really good at beating someone of her caliber.”
“She hits like a wrecking ball,” a rueful Troian Bellisario admits later “my ribs will be taped up for a week or more, but it was getting to my chin that finished me off. She is dangerous fighter. I am just sorry I couldn’t find a way to beat her.”
Hard punching bout that gave lightweight fans fresh evidence that Bonzo has signed a true contender at lightweight. Tasya battled toe to toe with the veteran Troian and finally got the better of her. Add this one to the win over Missy Peregrym to show Troian’s a star on the rise in the Lightweight Division and fans will no doubt be looking forward to see who she takes on next. Painful loss for veteran Troian, but she’s generally had more success at bantam than lightweight so we expect her next outing will be in the Bantam Division.
