The JMD and Bantamweight champions are going head-to-head at the next Doll Ball; two champions enter, one champion leaves, which is fine. But since this fight won't be happening until the weekend of the Boiling Point PPV challenge thread. Which begs the question:
Whoever the last one standing is, who are they facing on the Beach PPV?
Don't either of you DARE say they're sitting this one out, Bella and Kira are CRIMINALLY underrepresented when in comes to Beach bouts. With 81 fights between them, there is no reason they should only have 4 beach bouts between them. These are not fighters afraid of getting sand in their shorts:
None of the contenders know who to challenge, how do we avoid hurt feelings to whoever inevitably picks the wrong champion? Do we throw up our hands and declare the winner will fight the new #1 ranked bantam Chloe Bennet, who hasn't fought since April and also has exactly ZER0 beach bouts to her credit? Of course not!
Let us examine the bantamweight fights this month. Unlike the flyweights, where the title contenders have been colliding all year long, and showing WHY they're title contenders by not letting anyone string a significant number of wins together, the bantamweight elites have been content to farm the easy wins. Hawkeye's prospects are munching on Lookout Atlantic, also O&E's favorite place to go when we need a quick win. Meanwhile on the Doll Ball itself, Lind and Johansson are batting around a couple of flyweights!
This looks like a fair fight!
But there is an exception. The two Demis are fighting on the PPV, they happen to be the only top 25 bantams facing each other outside of the title superfight. Each of them individually has at least as many beach bouts as the two would-be mega-champions have combined, with Rose at least being undefeated on the sand. Lovato has fought both of them; and while Rose and Kosarin have never fought, she and Thorne each stripped the other of their first JMD title. It would make the most sense for the winner of this latest battle of the Demis to be declared the challenger for whichever title the newly crowned mega-champion wishes to hazard at her first defense.
And remember, Rose breaks out her gold micros for her title fights....
