TESS VALMORE
This series of bouts doesn’t go until June 21
KUBICKA/SHAYK Kubicka has a 6-2 record in the FCBA. She had a five fight win streak broken in March when she lost to Kaia Gerber. Her other loss was to Courtney Tailor in her debut fight in 2017. Shayk hasn’t done as well. She has lost nine of eleven and is on a five fight losing streak. She has a two inch height advantage over Kubicka. It won’t help her. Kubicka will win and chalk one up for Poland
RAE/KURYLENKO Rae has a 3-3 record in the BBU and a 1-1 record in the FCBA. Her one win was over Devon Windsor and her loss was to Kubicka in June of last year. Kurylenko has vastly more experience, but not necessarily good. She has only won 16 of 42. She is presently on a six fight losing streak with her last win being in June 2016. Kurylenko is also forty years old. Rae is fifteen years younger and an inch taller. I have to go with youth. Rae wins
MENARD/KROES Menard has been quite successful in the BBU, where is has an excellent 24-6 record. Her career in the FCBA is a little less spectacular. She has had four fights and lost them all, however to pretty good opponents. Kroes doesn’t have as good a record in the BBU as Menard, but she is 17-6. She has actually won a fight in the FCBA. I fact, she had won three, but lost six. She has lost four of her last five. The two have fought once before in the BBU with Kroes winning. Truthfully, I am not a big fan of the French. Kroes is Dutch. I will go with her to win
ADGAL/MAXWELL Adgal is a top ten lightweight in the FCBA. She has a 26-12 record, but had a seven fight win streak broken when she got upset by Huntington-Whitly is the May PPV. Maxwell has a 4-3 record in the BBU, but a 1-4 record in the FCBA The two fought once before back in 2017 with Adgal winning. I have little doubt that Adgal will repeat
KURKOVA/SAIPA Kurkova has fought in boxing organizations on three continents. She has a 9-5 record on US soil. She has beaten Ambrosio and Kroes, but overall her record of wins is not particularly impressive. This is Salpa’s US Debut. She has a 8-8 record in the BBU, but her opponents for the most part are unknown to me. The rule says always to go with the known. Kurkova will win.
VACARIU/CANALIS Vacariu is another making her first appearance in the US. While she has been in the BBU for three years, she has only had four fights and won three of them. I have no idea who her opponents were. Canalis has a poor BBU record of 7-11 and a poorer FCBA of 1-6. She is Italian. I just love the Italians. Nothing like sitting outside of a small cafe in the shadows of the Victor Emmanuel Monument around midnight, drinking a bottle of Barolo and have good looking Italian guys eyeing you. Especially when your father is with you to keep them from becoming too romantic. But, I digress. As much as I love the Italians, I have to go with Vacariu
ALONSO/HOSK Alonso has a winning 4-2 record in the BBU, but has had four FCBA fights and has lost them all. Hosk has done better in the FCBA. Hosk has only fought in the FCBA winning three of eight. I have to go with Hosk
SAMPAIO/DELEVINGNE Sampaio is another who has a 5-2 winning record in the BBU, but whose FCBA career has been a disaster. She has won a single bout out of eight. She has lost her last five and her only win was over Leone who is Italian. Delevingne has a 9-11 record in the which certainly “ain’t” great and she has lost six of her last seven, but at least she has won one. Delevingne will win
In doing this series of predictions two things are apparent.
1, While there are some good European fighters in the FCBA, the BBU is, as Miss Ginny recently commented, is a minor league for the FCBA.
2. There is something seriously wrong with the European gene pool. There is a shortage of blondes
