Fates enters a press room of reporters and walks to the podium.
“Good evening. The beginning of a new year is always a time of change, including changes of fighters at various stables. After internal discussions and observing free agents, we have decided to take on another fighter. Specifically, we signed someone who we believe could make her primary division that of JMDD, as we don’t have a dedicated JMDD fighter and would prefer to not distract our other fighters from their primary goals. That being said, she is more than willing to fight at lightweight, and could be convinced to fight at welterweight. Our newest signee was in Sports Illustrated Swimsuit from 2013 to 2017 and was featured on the magazine’s cover one year. We think she hasn’t tapped into her full potential yet, and looking forward to working with her in. Without any further ado, the newest member of Fates Boxing, hailing from the Virgin Islands, she is known as the ‘Caribbean Queen,’ Hannah Davis!”
Hannah walks out of the door in the back of the room in a tight cut gold dress that seemingly was designed purely for the model to show off her body, revealing a bit of her cleavage and much of her legs. Davis shakes Fates’ hand and steps up to the podium.
“Well, thank you, Fates. I’m really thrilled to be joining the stable and making a name for myself, and am looking forward to the many fights to come.” Hannah pauses before continuing, “My goal is to go out there and remind people that while I am an SI cover-girl, I can also put up a fight in the ring.” Davis smiles before Fates comes back to the microphone.
“We’ll open this up to some questions,” Fates says. A flurry of hands go up. Fates points at a reporter on the right side of the room. “To both Hannah and Fates, on August 18, 2018, Hannah fought and got knocked out by Emily DiDonato in what would be the fight that got her signed by Fates. How do we know if there is any residual animosity from that meeting?”
Fates defers to Davis, who concisely answers, “We were both fighting for a contract then. We aren’t any more.”
The hands go up again and Fates selects a reporter on the left side of the room. “While Hannah may be a top tier model, her record in the ring is 2-7, and both of her wins came against fighters without any wins in the FCBA. What grounds do you have for saying that she has potential or isn’t a bottom-feeding jobber to make Kate Upton look better by getting first round knockouts?”
Hannah and Fates stare straight at the reporter, boring a hole through the reporter’s skull before Fates answers with a hint of anger in his voice. “Hannah has not had much time in the ring on a regular basis to improve upon. We’ve looked back at her fights and think that she has the ability to get better.”
The reporters hands come up again and Fates motions for Hannah to pick the next question. Davis nods and points to a reporter towards the back of the room. “Hannah, do you have a list of girls you want to fight?”
Davis cracks a smile, “You’ll see soon enough.”
The hands come up again and Fates tells everyone who doesn’t have a good question to put their hands down because this will be the last one. All but one hand go down and Fates points to the person with the lone raised hand. “To Fates, your stable has only ever added fighters, but never dropped any. This can’t continue forever, so can you talk about whether or not the roster will look the same in say, six months or twelve months? And are girls who have been underperforming and may even just be washed up like Elizabeth Olsen and Behati Prinsloo have their positions in danger, even if they constitute two of the three original members of the stable?”
Fates exhales, “Really? All of the nasty questions today? The second half of this one is straight up classless. All we are going to say is that we are pleased with the work all of our girls have put in, even if some of the results have not gone the way that we wanted them to. We will not be commenting on individual fighter’s situations. As for your first half, yes, we are fortunate to have been growing and not cutting, but that can’t last forever. We will make decisions as we see fit.” Fates pauses, “One more question, we can’t end on that one. And address it to Hannah.”
Davis picks the first hand to go up. “Hannah, as you are a Caribbean girl, will we be seeing more beach fights?”
Hannah smiles, “I’m working on Fates to arrange those. Probably not all in the Caribbean, but I’m going to do my best to get some beach action in, especially once we get to summer. There will be plenty of sand and plenty of smothering if those events come – that is a promise.” Davis makes a devilish face before handing the podium back to Fates
“Once again, a warm welcome to Hannah Davis, our newest member, and we are excited to see her future in the ring as a part of Fates."
