6. Alexis Ren vs Gal Gadot (Queen of the Ice Hotel)
Alexis:
(22, 5’8, 25:6 FCBA, VIXENs)
Gal:
(34, 5’9, 2:6 FCBA, Lookout Atlantic Boxing)
BEFORE:
“HA! Wonder woman my ass! Didn’t she just go down to Dua Lipa?? Gal may look like a badass in Hollywood, but that’s just smoke and mirrors. I’d bet she’s just a pansy in the ring, and a double-pansy once you enter the Ice Ring with the true Queen! Let’s see how long you last in there with me, b*tch!”
Gal Gadot appears next on the camera, smirking as the pre-recorded segment rolls.
“What Ren lacks is discipline. It’s something she doesn’t seem to understand with her carefree and utterly useless lifestyle. Me on the other hand? I’m in the studio by 6 in the morning and work hard till the sun sets. Sorry Ren, but you don’t get to call me weak, not after I’m through with you.”
This match is for the Queen of the Ice Hotel, and as such, the bout is held in a special off-site boxing ring. A live feed goes up on the giant LCD screens inside the arena, showing a contained auditorium, darkened on purpose, with shifting lights of blue and white crystal drifting across the canvas. At the base of the ring rests a level of thick, evaporated mist, blowing and billowing in different directions, meant to simulate the chill of winter.
Girls approach the ring from opposite sides, flanked by their respective cornermen and trainers. Ren doing stationary stretches as the mist parts at her feet, trying to shake off the cold in nothing but a white bikini top and bottom, pink gloves matching her pink-stained fur coat draped over her shoulders, and kind of the only article of clothing that’s keeping her warm.
Gal on the other side barely breaking a shiver, hair single-braided, Amazon-style, and wearing a gold bikini ensemble together with white gloves on both hands. Her outfit is inspired by the movies as well, reminiscent of those armour-plated chest pieces that Greek generals wore into battle.
Ladies make ready in their corners, finally dressed down and doing their final warm-ups. Without further ado, the referee RINGS the bell, and HERE we go for ten rounds of Lightweight action, for the Queen of the Ice Hotel championship!
ROUND 1:
Exchange of strikes are some of the fastest we’ve seen between two Lightweight competitors, with Alexis relying on her expert sporting figure whereas Gal going back to her Wonder Woman roots of training and dieting on set. Blur of movement as they both come in hard and fast, slamming punches into each other in some mutually assured destruction! Alexis going for questionable tactics early in this fight, hooking the face and then going after Gal’s body and chest, sending her opponent shivering backwards as her orbs get swiped and pancaked. Ren smirking, advancing on her stricken foe, continues landing jabs to the face until Gal manages to recover and establish more distance. Well, it got the job done, didn’t it? Gadot finally realising what kind of opponent she’s facing off against in this fight, shooting Ren a look of contempt as she returns to her corner.
ROUND 2:
Gal seems to have recovered well enough however, now ignoring the chest attacks and going to work on rearranging Ren’s pretty face, the Vixen’s own Achielle’s Heel. Alexis’ turn to get shocked as she gets caught by a leather glove shoved into the cheek and lips on more than one occasion, growling in frustration as another hook from Gadot lands hard on the side. Rather than retreat, however, Ren stubbornly rushing forward, determined to prove that she can outwork any woman toe-to-toe. Gadot retreating but it’s deliberate and strategic, continues to pound on Ren’s face with her snapping right hand jab, whilst evading most of the blonde’s wild swings back in her direction. Alexis finally relents as the bell rings, her face looking reddened, panting hard in the middle of the ring. She’s taken a beating here and she knows it, whereas Gal is back to that confident smile, one hand raised in the air to the cheers as she strides back to corner.
ROUND 3:
Ren with zero answer to Gadot’s defensive counter-punching here, her assaults getting rebuffed as Gadot uses her fast feet to evade whenever she charges, then getting socked in the face repeatedly for her troubles. Well, one way would be to actually stop these brazen and ineffective charges of hers, but who’s gonna be the one to tell the hard truth to this hot-headed Vixen? Middle minute and the Ice Queen finally realises the fact that she’s on the downslide, hangs back from who knows whether it’s tiredness or sheer desperation. It’s Gadot’s turn to attack, circling the blonde and again snapping jabs into her arms and body from afar. The barrage is not as strong as we’d like though, and Gadot has surely missed an opportunity to pull ahead or even score a knockdown by the end of this round, if she had put in 110% for the finish line. Instead, Ren is left battered but still standing, and worse still, getting berated by Head Trainer Corey Saucier in her corner, having little energy to snap back at him.
ROUND 4:
Ren finally starts moving with more purpose, twitching to the side each time Gal makes a play forward with a flurry of punches. First minute is spent feeling each other out all over again, with Gadot looking slightly worried when her punches barely hit the guard this time, and instead mostly sting the air. Ren turns the tide in the second minute when the first counter-jabs begin sailing in, bunching up Gadot’s cheek on occasion and barely taking any punishment in return. Like a switch turned on and off, this fighting skill is making Ren look much more level-headed and entirely focused on the direction of her hand-movements. Gadot manages to land another twin-jabs into the body in the closing moments of the round, but they’re more or less shrugged off for Ren, who’s got some of that validation she’s been looking for, wide smile on her way back to corner as she seizes the momentum back for herself.
ROUND 5:
Ren fights best when she doesn’t let her emotions dictate her pace of action. Unfortunately for her, her pride repeatedly gets in the way, and it’s not enough to slap a three-punch combo into Gal’s face and body, making the brunette backtrack and cover up but not doing much damage. Ren pursuing even when she knows it’s dangerous, continuing to fire off punches before ending her combination with a tight right hook that rockets through the movie star’s guard, throwing Gadot a little off balance but otherwise allowing her to keep standing. Ren starting to tire as she chases her foe across the ring and back, and Gadot suddenly leaping back into action when the blonde was least expecting a resurgence. Girls trade shots to the face before Ren even knows what’s happening, a shell-shocked look on her face as Gadot shoves her head to the side with a nasty right hook! OUCH!! Ren rocked badly, mouth open as she struggles to find some leverage (any, really) in order to keep herself standing. But Gadot not taking any prisoners, right upon the lanky blonde on the ropes, lefts and rights pumping leather into the belly, then knocking on the champ’s front door with a big swing into the guardhouse. Another THUMP to the belly and REN GOES DOWN TO THE CANVAS, all that body abuse taking its toll and forcing her down to her knees!
Might this be a brand new changing of the guard for the Queen of the Ice Hotel?!? Gadot breathing heavily as she trapezes around Ren’s fallen form, certainly thinking it so. The Vixen is still on her knees, arms hugging her midsection as she slowly makes the effort to rise back up, finally recovering by the count of 8!
Not a good round for the Vixen, that’s for sure - she’s still baring teeth in Gadot’s direction, hands massaging her bruised middle for signs of permanent damage.
ROUND 6:
HERE COMES GADOT with an early charge at the bell! She’s definitely hoping to put Ren away for good before the end of the first minute, firing off a rapid series of jabs and then unleashing with those same crosses that crash into the blonde’s arms. But Ren seems to be taking the attack in her stride, jumping back and controlling her opponent with a right hand of her own poking at the chin and cheek. That knockdown as though it never happened, as Ren shrugs off the damage and suddenly goes back on the offensive in the second half, a STUNNING right hand into Gal’s nostrils, drawing a loud GASP as the Israeli’s stopped clean in her tracks! Ren seizes the opportunity, slamming more of her fists into the body and chest once again, then almost taking Gadot’s head off with a spinning back fist that catches her on the cheek! Gadot sent spiraling into the ropes as she clings on for dear life, body getting wrecked with invasive blows after Ren leaps in after her and goes to town! Girls end up in a clinch but honestly it’s Gadot who’s clinging onto her shoulders for air, mouth hanging open and trying to absorb the repeated body shots until the bell rings.
ROUND 7:
Ren looking for redemption after that embarrassing knockdown, and having found it with that shutout round in the sixth. Gadot looking slow and spent as she rises from her stool, and no amount of ice around the ring is gonna save her from the slow burn that’s consuming her in this fight. Barely out of her corner, Ren’s already back in her face, slapping leather into soft spots, in between holes in the guard, with short, snappy jabs then whistling hooks battering Gadot all over the head and body. Gadot barely hitting back, arms torqued out of the way as she struggles to stay afloat in this fight, but then takes another left-right combo to the face, her head pushed backwards, the rest of her body following suit. All Ren needs to do is step-in and follow-up BLAST another hook across the chin, and DOWN THE MIGHTY WONDER WOMAN GOES, crashing onto her side in a revenge KNOCKDOWN for the Vixen!!
Loud huff from Ren, who tilts her chin up into the air as though every other girl’s completely beneath her. In this case, it's quite the literal truth, as Gadot claws desperately at the ropes in an effort to to push herself up to all fours and hopefully back to her feet. Even with the help of the ropes though, it’s a tall order, with the referee hitting the count of 9 and the Israeli stunner still barely recovered past her knees. Her face still filled with shock as the bell rings, and the referee WAVES this championship fight off! It’s all over!!
Official Decision: Alexis Ren defeats Gal Gadot via KO7! Alexis retains the Queen of the Ice Hotel Championship!
AFTER:
Another big win for Ms Ren as she proves she ain’t no fluke tonight, and while the Queen of the Ice Hotel championship’s been derided by some, accused of being a ‘fake’ title belt, it’s no doubt a stepping stone towards the actual Lightweight championship at some point in the next two weeks, when Ren faces off against the current champion, Taylor Swift. Ren later admitting as much, right after gleefully DUNKING Ms Gadot’s headfirst into the complimentary snow pile by the ringside, before leaving her broken, shivering body on the ice:
‘I’ve faced worse girls,’ Ren smiling, sticking her tongue out to reporters by ringside. ‘I’m still Queen of the f*cking Hill, and no one’s gonna take this position from me anytime soon! Swift is next to fall, and then Cernu is gonna find out who’s the biggest, baddest, ice-cold b*tch!’
VIX/Lookout! Stable War II: 4:2
