(Words: Fates / Results: Lookout!)
This lightweight matchup between two women who began their FCBA careers 10 years ago features plenty of animosity on both sides, with Taylor jawing for the match recently.
“Swan just is not on my level. She’s going to be on her back tonight – you watch. She cannot compete with me, and I have my reputation to keep.” Swift keeps her interview.
Swan of course returns the sentiment in her pre-fight: “Taylor is overrated. Jenner has showed Swift her place and Taylor still thinks she’s better than she actually is. I’m going to dispatch Taylor just the same way I dispatched her stablemate DiDonato in 2017.”
Swan comes to the ring and removes her robe to display a blue sports bra and trunks with white gloves, her hair up in a bun. Swift emerges next in a red sports bra and shorts with matching red gloves.
The two women stare daggers at each other as the bell rings, and we are off.
Round 1:
Both Swift and Swan jump out of their corners, ready to take the other woman down. Taylor launches jabs from a distance, using her height advantage to prevent Serinda from getting too close. Swan a smart boxer and closes the distance, punching Taylor in her boobs, much to the singer’s dislike. Serinda sends a hook at Taylor’s jaw but the singer dodges and immediately rifles back two jabs that find Swan’s mouth. Swan backpedaling as Swift lays into the actress’ body, pummeling her into the ropes. Taylor able to unload as Serinda tries to clinch and the singer is able to lay a few clear punches in before Swan does clinch. Once the ref separates the two, Taylor immediately goes back to punishing Serinda, although the Canadian lands a few solid punches back onto Swift before the bell rings ending the round. Taylor takes the first on points, wide.
Round 2:
Serinda quickly gets out of her corner to start the second round and immediately closes the distance between herself and Taylor, robbing the taller fighter of her reach advantage. Swift launches a massive hook that Serinda dodges and the brunette launches a vicious punch that catches Taylor in the belly, driving the wind out of her. The Blonde singer throws out a jab to try and push Swan away before she gets her guard up, and now it’s Swan’s turn to go after her opponent. Swift lets out a few moans as Serinda pounds the singer’s body into the ropes, but Taylor is able to clinch early and force the break. After the two women are separated, Taylor is able to trade jabs with Swan, keeping the Canadian away and preventing her from capitalizing on a solid start to the second round. The bell rings and Serinda takes it on points, wide.
Round 3:
Swan begins the third the same way she started the second, closing the distance between herself and Swift, except this time, the singer is ready for it. Taylor throws out a jab that gets Serinda right in the mouth, halting the actress’ advance. Swan throws a punch to get Taylor to back off but whiffs, and Swift connects with several punches to Swan’s chest, driving her backward. Serinda manages to get her guard up before Taylor starts throwing punches at her head. Swan backs off and Taylor pursues, landing good shots in on Serinda’s body despite taking some counterpunching. Swan lands an excellent right that straightens Swift out at the beginning of minute three and it looks like she may have shifted the round, but Taylor comes right back with a vicious hook that nearly sends Serinda down as she backs into the ropes. Taylor begins unloading on the Canadian as the bell signals the end of the round. Taylor takes the round on points, wide.
Round 4:
Swan emerges from her corner cautiously, and Taylor takes control early on, jabbing at the shorter fighter and keeping her at bay. Neither woman lands any solid hits in the first minute, just trying to get a sense for how the rest of the fight is going to be. At the start of the second minute though, Swan ducks out of the way of a Swift hook and smacks Taylor on the chin and follows up to the nose. Swift immediately gets her guard up before Swan can launch off another volley, and Serinda starts plugging leather into the blonde singer’s body. Swift launches a jab occasionally to try and keep Swan off of her, but she’s forced to back up and dodge out of the way of Serinda’s onslaught. Swan corners Swift in the ropes at the end of the third minute, but Taylor holds her ground and connects with a solid right cross just before the bell rings. Swan wins the round on points, wide.
Round 5:
The two women have traded the previous four rounds, each trying to get the other woman to cave. Taylor starts more defensively, launching a jab and retreating. Serinda patiently waiting, punching back at the blonde whenever possible. Swift throws a right hook that Swan ducks under just like the previous round only for Serinda to get clobbered by a left! Taylor wasn’t going to let the Canadian get away with the same trick twice and absolutely straightened her out with the left. Swan backpedals and Swift pounces on her, driving a right straight into Swan’s nose. Serinda throws a wild punch to keep Taylor away, but Taylor easily dodges it and slams two hooks straight to Serinda’s jaw and Swan goes down! Taylor quickly backs away, as Swan tries to get up. At five, she’s on her knees. Six. One knee at seven. At eight, she’s back on her feet, tells the ref she’s able to continue, and the two women go back after each other. Swift pursues Swan around the ring for the rest of the round, but this time Swan is able to keep her distance despite taking a few jabs from Swift, and as the bell rings, Swan is visibly relieved to have survived. Taylor wins the round on points, wide.
Round 6:
Taylor has a sly smile on her face, knowing that the really took it to Serinda the previous round. Swift opens up with big hooks, clearly trying to knock Swan out this round. Serinda does a good job of dodging out of the way though and manages to get some punches the connect to the singer’s mouth. Taylor clearly getting frustrated and charges forward to take a giant swing with her right only to miss Swan and Serinda absolutely clocks Taylor with a right that nearly sends the singer down, her long legs getting wobbly. Swift gets her guard up before Swan can target her head, but Serinda pounds away at Taylor’s body. Serinda backs Taylor up into the ropes and the brunette lays into the blonde’s body before Taylor can finally clinch and the ref has to break them apart. When the fight resumes, Swan feints hard with her right and Swift bites only to get smacked by Swan’s left, driving Taylor back yet again! Taylor yelps as Serinda returns to pounding leather into her chest, absolutely taking her to the cleaners as time expires in the round. Swan gleefully retreats to her corner taking the round by shutout.
Round 7:
If round six was when Taylor thought she could put Serinda away, round seven is when Serinda thinks she could put Taylor away. Swan opens up with an impressive salvo that drives Taylor back, but Swift does not get fully rattled and coolly uses her jab to work her way out of trouble. Serinda begins feinting again, except this time, Taylor is ready and lines up a right cross that connects with Swan, forcing the actress on the defensive. Swift closes the distance and starts working on wearing Serinda down, always landing more punches than she is taking. Swan does plant her feet and start pushing Taylor back at times, but Swift ultimately out-maneuvers Swan and lands more blows more frequently. The bell signals the end of the round and Taylor takes It on points, close.
Round 8:
Swift and Swan slowly emerge from their corners, not wanting to give up an easy knockout to their opponent. Taylor the first to open up on offensive, driving punches into Swan’s body and past her guard. Serinda lunges at Taylor to try and close the distance, but Swift dodges out of the way and slams home a hook that squarely connects with Swan’s jaw and Serinda is hurting! The brunette looks stunned as pain shoots across her face, and her guard is too late coming up as Taylor lands another hook and follows up with an uppercut that drops Serinda! Swift quickly to a neutral corner as Swan is on the floor, trying to find the strength to get up. At six, Swan rolls herself onto her belly. At seven, she tries to pick herself off the floor, but she doesn’t have the energy and sinks back to the canvas for the rest of the count. Your winner by KO8, Taylor Swift!
After:
A wide smile breaks across Taylor’s face, and the blonde singer mounts the ringposts to celebrate her victory, showing off her physique and legs. After posing for the crowd, Taylor exits the ring as Serinda gets to her feet.
Taylor’s interview was frank: “I told you I was going to knock her out, and I did. I’ve avenged Emily DiDonato’s loss to Swan, and frankly, I hope DiDo gets a rematch. As for Swan, she isn’t on my level, and I proved it.”
Swan a bit more cautious in her language before a stern warning: “Taylor did bring it today. But Taylor, this isn’t over. Not by a long shot.”
