Our reporter and his blonde companion sit watching baseball and basketball at Bazz with Cassandra Lynn Scerbo, Beth Harnois, Poindexter Del Crunchy, and the Man In The Hat.
Reporter: "So, guys, some interesting signings for Fates..."
Pointy: "Well, Swift is a no-brainer. Definitely championship material."
Cassie: "So is Larson. She's got plenty of talent and a huge profile."
Man In The Hat; "Barros is the stealth signing. Here's a girl who's got physicals, but, she's past 35. She can make light, no doubt, but she walks around welter. At welter, the age wouldn't be as big a deal. Fates might push her there. She might be an interesting fighter above 130."
Tess: "Speaking of welter, looks like Decker gets another chance to win the title up there."
Man In The Hat: "And, I wish her the best of luck. Brookie's done good things with her fresh start. Maybe she can do something Front Street can't. We don't often pull against Righetti, but, this time, we're gonna. I hope she wins the damn thing."
Reporter: "Odd Man, in talking about JMD title shots, suggested Lohan might want to fight a Front Street girl..."
Man In The Hat: "We'll discuss any fight at any time with anyone. But. I saw Odd Man's little discussion, and, as he pointed out, we're staying out of the JMD and JMDD title mixes at this time, so, if Lindsay wants to get herself a shot at Queen Demi, she might want to look somewhere else."
Pointy: "You still kicking yourself about not signing Demi Rose, Wizardo?"
Man In The Hat: "Oh, that Odd Man knows how to source talent, let me tell you. It's not just Demi Rose. We came close on Orrantia, Mendes, and Olivia Holt, too. Every time that guy signs somebody, we gotta redo the shortlist."
Tess: "Let's talk pay-per-view. Obviously, you have Stewart and Carter booked..."
Beth: "And. FOR THE RECORD, I did NOT pressure Wizziepooh to pick Sarah for the title shot."
Man In The Hat: "She absolutely did NOT. What made up my mind was Carter beaten Hayden. And, had Hayden won that fight, I suspect Ms. Panettiere would be fighting K-Stew for the straps this month..."
Cassie: "Then, fortunately, Sarah WON, because ALL I need is to hear Hayden chirping about regaining the belts, spreading that buffalo breath of hers all over the FCBA!"
Tess: "Where I was going with this, though, is the other accepted challenges. Kunis is a big challenge for Winter..."
Man In The Hat: "That she is. And, we're very pleased to HAVE that kind of challenge. What we're doin' right now is evaluating fighters to see where we'll be in February, 2020. Right now, we have two names figuratively written on the roster in PEN. Those names are 'Kristen Stewart' and 'Chloe Bennet'. Everybody else is in pencil..."
Pointy: "Though some of those pencil marks are DARKER than others, I'll wager..."
Man In The Hat (smiling): "You are not wrong, Big Man. But. ALL TWELVE could, depending upon circumstances, be erased..."
Reporter: "That's pretty...I don't know...HARSH..."
Man In The Hat: "As I've said MANY times, there are more fighters who want and deserve management than there are stable slots. MANY more. Always have been. Always WILL be. And, that means everybody who HAS one of those spots has to DESERVE it..."
Tess: "Of course, 'deserving' is in the eye of the beholder..."
Man In The Hat: "Sure is. But. Here's what MY eye sees, and, you've heard it before. You must either be championship caliber OR have the potential to BE championship caliber. And, what we're trying to find out in 2019 is, do all the ladies here fall into that category?"
Tess: "So. Hill and Gibbs...that's a big fight for Hill."
Man In The Hat: "It IS. What we've determined so far in 2019 is that we're going to keep our flyweight division in place, and that will be anchored by Kristen Stewart. Obviously, we were always keeping the bantams in place, and Chloe Bennet will be one of those bantams. We are certainly not leaving lightweight, where we've had plenty of success, but, that division may or may not need a makeover. We have three veterans there and Hill. What we need to find out is if Taylor can be part of the future of that division. If not, then, we need to get some folks who CAN onto the roster."
Tess: "And beating a girl like Gibbs..."
Man In The Hat: "Would certainly be a piece of evidence in Taylor's favor."
Reporter: "I notice there's no mention of welterweights...and, this tells me the fate of THAT division remains up in the air...or, am I reading this wrong?"
Man In The Hat: "You are not. We've made no decision on our future above 130. Events that take place the rest of this year will have some bearing on that. A lot of things are under consideration, and that includes how we'll structure the roster. Until we made our flyweight decision, we'd considered the possibility of an eight-fighter stable with a 4-4 structure at bantam and light, as we still don't want to go above four fighters a division. Now, we're committed to flyweight and a 4-4-4 structure, meaning twelve roster SPOTS..."
Reporter: "Spots? Not fighters?"
Man In The Hat: "As you know, all divisions aren't always full. We might be at, say, 3-4-3 at some point, but, even if there are vacancies, there are four SPOTS at each weight. If we decide to stay at welter, we could do the 4-4-4-2 we currently have, as we aren't going above 14 fighters, or something like a 4-4-3-3. If we drop welter, we could do a 4-4-4 and use the two other spots for fighters dedicated to just JMD or JMDD...because, we absolutely intend to remain active in those kinds of fights and to participate in future Queendom events..."
Reporter: "How frequently?"
Man In The Hat: "When it makes sense for the fighter in question."
Tess: "So, every Front Street fight this year is going to be a big fight..."
Man In The Hat: "As usual, Tess, you're right on the button. Now. Let's watch some ball, shall we?"
Reporter: "So, guys, some interesting signings for Fates..."
