Our reporter and his blonde companion sit watching the football pregame show with Cassandra Lynn Scerbo, Poindexter Del Crunchy, and the Man In The Hat.
Reporter: "So, big day with your JMD/D debut, Wiz..."
Pointy: "And, a long time coming, too..."
Man In The Hat: "Definitely is."
Tess: "And, how does all this play out when it comes to this year of evaluation?"
Man In The Hat: "Pretty simple, really. I believe we have some girls who can be competitive at JMD/D. Now, maybe we don't go after the titles, especially not right away, but, I believe we can win fights there. And, this year will show if that's true."
Reporter: "But, you BELIEVE it's true..."
Cassie: "And I believe you have flyweights and welterweights who can win the title, too, especially flyweights..."
Man In The Hat (nodding): "Interesting discussion to have today. Because, today we see the last two NFL games before the Super Bowl. There are 32 NFL teams, and I guarantee you that, most years, 18-20 of those teams start the season believing they have the ability to get to this day. 18-20. Now, let's just take 20 to make the math easy. Twenty percent of those teams will get here..."
Tess: "Which doesn't make the other 80 percent wrong..."
Man In The Hat: "Correct. It does NOT. SOME of that 80 percent is RIGHT. They DID have the ability to get this far...it just didn't happen. But. I guarantee you that, of those 16 teams that didn't get here, ten or so were WRONG. They were NOT good enough. They just THOUGHT they were. So. about HALF the teams that started the season believing they had the ability to make this final weekend before the big game were incorrect. And, those teams will be making changes going into next year, because they DON'T want to be wrong AGAIN."
Cassie: "You aren't wrong, Uncle Wiz..."
Man In The Hat: "Time will tell. 2019 will tell. We may spend a good deal of this year on the sidelines. We're already going to miss one pay-per-view. There may be more. We're not pushing for or accepting title shots. That may not go on all year, but it may. We're going to stand here and watch. And, we're going to make decisions based on what we see. And, when our 10th anniversary comes around in February 2020, well. You'll know what we've found out. Now. Let's watch some ball."
