We’re in front of a live audience tonight eagerly awaiting the arrival of the first competitors into the arena. Trust us when we say that there’ll be few words exchanged and little time for pleasantries with five exciting matches scheduled for ten rounds each.
“I want to thank VIX for inviting me back so early,” Melia saying during the pre-fight interview with a smile. “Alicia is a big step up for me so soon, but I’m eager to prove just how tough I can be.”
The Swiss actress is shown on the giant LCD screens flexing a bicep to the cameras before blowing an air-kiss in the audience’s direction, drawing a condescending smirk across the table from Swedish actress, Alicia Vikander.
Did we mention how often we’ve mixed up these girls’ nationalities? Alicia’s only a few years younger but looking as fit as she did back when she played Lara Croft in the movie reboot of Tomb Raider, which was (arguably) her first foray into the general audience’s consciousness.
“Let’s see: Tomb Raider versus whatever god-awful show you were a part of? I wonder who wins?” Vikander digging in with plenty of snark. “I’m on a mission here to the very top, and I don’t need any more of these tiny distractions, thank you very much.”
Staredown in the middle of the podium is as tense as you can imagine, with both ladies coming nose-to-nose and thrusting their fists into each other’s chins for some intimidation tactics.
Melia in a black bra top and leather tights for bottoms, donning a pair of white gloves as she enters the arena with a flourish of the curtains. Alicia is back in her usual grey sports bra and short fighting tights, favoured for maximum movement, shadow boxing in her corner with a pair of red mitts as we await the referee’s sound of the bell. HERE we go with ten rounds of Bantamweight action!
ROUND 1:
Both girls fit as a fiddle but Alicia with the speed advantage early on, dodging some big hands flung in her direction before slapping the leather on to Melia’s face good and early. Kreiling might very well be out of her element here, with only one successful bout under her belt and by contrast, Alicia with much more experience in the fighting game. Still, Kreiling’s doing her best to channel her own brand of aggression, keeps on coming forward with flicking jabs, but keeps on getting denied with Alicia’s superior agility. Alicia takes almost the entirety of these three minutes for her corner, with her constant footwork and actual punches landing in return giving her a good opening showing.
ROUND 2:
This appears to be the Swede’s strategy moving forward, as she dances back in the opening seconds but then looks slightly embarrassed when it turns out to be a feint in her direction, with Kreiling smiling to herself after that exaggerated lunge forward but then pull back all of a sudden - it’s suddenly crystal clear what her game plan is and that doesn’t bode well for Vikander. Melia taking her time this round, stalking left and right and only firing off a straight punch when she’s in full range of Vikander. As a result, the Swede has a much harder time evading her foe’s power, getting knocked about on her feet later in the round as the net sort of tightens around her throughout. Alicia still throwing some jabs of her own back into the face and body, but finding less success in that department with Melia soaking up the blows on her forearms instead, before dialing back and rocking those big punches through and through.
ROUND 3:
Classic match-up between power versus agility, and the pendulum continues to swing one way and then the other. Melia with more deliberate advances this round, trying to cut off Alicia’s air supply and hopefully put her down good and early, but she doesn’t expect the sudden LUNGE forward from the Swede straight into her own face, with Alicia throwing caution to the wind and SLAMMING that right hand up into her nostrils! OUCH. That’s gotta hurt! The rookie suddenly stunned as pain overpowers her senses, quickly flailing backwards and covering her head up. In such a situation, a veteran fighter would know how to play it cool and quickly regain one’s composure, in order to not let your foe take advantage. Melia however doesn’t get the memo with her throbbing nose, and the rest of the round is all downhill for her: Alicia jumping in repeatedly trying to sting her in the face, but ends up pounding on her midsection, with those pristine abs taking a beating all the way to the bell. No answer from Kreiling as she’s solely focused on remaining standing this round.

Alicia back with that knowing grin at coming out ahead in the third, now hoping to cement her lead in the next. Melia hiding her head behind gloves when the bell sounds, anticipating another wild charge in her direction. But Alicia biding her time, slapping leather into the body from afar as Melia still appears slow to react. Kreiling looks to be in trouble as she can’t quite match Vikander’s speed and also, can’t quite catch the Swede with her own fists. Not until the last minute, at least, when Alicia draws from her a sudden groan from a quick combination into the tummy, but gets a little overambitious by staying put longer and bumping more fists off her sides, doesn’t see that return hook coming until it CATCHES her clean on the cheek, knocking her 180 degrees about senseless! UGHH. Melia’s power on sudden display as she slaps another and another swing into Alicia’s head, each time spinning the lean Swede about on her feet and threatening to send her down for the count! It’s Alicia’s turn to hide behind her gloves, only for her body to get pounded on with return shots from Kreiling, who has suddenly turned the tables and has her on the ropes! Bell rings and saves Vikander from a potential knockdown attempt, however, and Melia successfully swings that pendulum right back to her corner!

Close quarters action as these girls get in each other’s faces and bang away with some hard shots here, with Alicia trying to surprise her opponent with some aggression once again but Melia getting over it too quickly and banging right back. They’re trading hooks to the guard before going after each other’s body, thumping away at the tummy before clinching up in the middle of the ring for respite. Mutual grunts as they continue to push and shove at each other’s shoulders and chest,, and Melia suddenly has her eyes wide when she gets shoved hard into a corner, before Alicia jumping in and almost taking her head off with another superwoman punch to the forehead. But the Swiss actress saw it coming, absorbs with her arms, before rotating back around and sending a pair of swift uppercuts into Vikander’s body. With nowhere else left to go, Vikander left groaning on the turnbuckle as she’s trapped by her own designs, has to clinch up repeatedly to avoid the hooks folding her over in half in painful gut shots to the sternum.
ROUND 6:
When is this girl gonna learn that she can’t possibly hang and bang with someone like Kreiling, who’s packing a lot of power in that bulkier frame? Melia confidently swinging at the head with some broad strokes, hoping for that lucky strike to send the leaner girl off of her feet. But thankfully, Alicia back in sudden form, wading in close but then weaving her torso with speed away from those bombs before striking at the nose and lips, with the pain starting to add up! Melia looking all of a sudden dazed from a jab-jab-hook combination catches her on the front and side of her head, stepping backwards and trying to cover again. But Alicia too quick this time, relentlessly keeping up with the barrage of punches,, her long, braided ponytail flashing in the air as she NAILS the rookie fighter with a snap uppercut up into the jawline! POWW - Melia seeing stars in her eyes, the entirety of her body going suddenly LIMP as she collapses down onto her side by the ropes! IT’S FREAKIN’ OVER, and just like that!?!

Wow - I think most of us expected Vikander to come out on top due to her greater experience, but few anticipated Melia to go out like a lightbulb so easily either! Alicia with a big smile breaking on her face, jumping up for joy with both hands high in the air. All that Tomb Raider training must have finally paid off, with the starlet moving onto bigger and better things in 2019!
