Our reporter and his blonde companion sit in the Man In The Hat's office at Front Street.
Reporter: "So, Wiz, Tess thinks you're going 6-0 at Asylum..."
Man In The Hat (smiling): "Well, I hope she's right."
Tess: "The FCBA really DOESN'T need six more newbies..."
Man In The Hat: "Well. I disagree. Mendes was a newbie when she came to Asylum. She won. She got management. And, she was Top Twenty-Five in the last rankings..."
Tess: "Most of these girls aren't going to be Mendes...probably NONE of them will be."
Man In The Hat: "Could be. But. One or two MIGHT. And, everybody starts somewhere."
Reporter: "On another subject, you've been discussing next year's Front Street tenth anniversary, but, it's over a year away. Why plan for it now?"
Man In The Hat: "Because we NEED to plan now. We NEED to evaluate now. We NEED to see who we are and where we are and what we want to be when we hit ten years old. We've been the same thing our entire time here, a stable designed to compete in four divisions. But. Do we want to BE that going forward? After not having won the welterweight and flyweight belts for NINE YEARS, do we want to keep making that effort? Or, instead of spreading our resources over four divisions, should we concentrate on two? Or three? What about JMD/D? We're going to try that this year for the first time. Is that something we should continue? Should we be competing for all seven titles, including Ice Hotel, next year, or should it be five or four or two?"
Tess: "And, which way are you leaning?"
Man In The Hat: "We're NOT leaning. We're evaluating. What happens in the ring this year will tell us what to do next year. At the end of this year, do I have a belief that we can win all seven titles? Or, do I think we're wastin' time pursuin' some of them? And, if we're not chasin' seven titles, how big does the stable need to be? We'll never go above 14, but, would ten work? It might..."
Reporter: "So, nobody's job is exactly safe after 2019..."
Man In The Hat: "I wouldn't say that. If I were Chloe Bennet, I wouldn't be worried about anything. She's done exactly what we hoped and expected and she continues to do so. If I were someone who HASN'T done that? I might be concerned. But. You know what I'm NEVER concerned about? Chef's beef tenderloin..."
Tess: "Let's GO!"
