TESS VALMORE
KOSTEK/LAWRENCE This will be Kostek’s eighth fight of the year, her first year in the FCBA. Unfortunately, four of those eight have been at JMDD. She is 3-1 in conventional fights after beating Mandy Moore in the October PPV. Lawrence despite having a 23-14 record in conventional fights, hasn’t lived up to expectations. She hasn’t been able to grab the gold ring at lightweight, so has moved up to welter seeking glory. She fought Kostek at JMDD in August and it didn’t go well for her. This will be Lawrence’s third conventional bout at welter after upsetting Rhoda in the October PPV. This is a bigger fight for Kostek than Lawrence. In beating Lawrence she should grab some needed attention. Unfortunately, it isn’t going to happen. Lawrence has too much experience. Lawrence will win.
REGAN/G.ATKINSON Regan is a member of the badly deteriorating Bazz stable. A couple years ago, she along with Righetti ruled the welters and she won three welter titles. She has hit a bad streak. She has now lost six straight and hasn’t won a fight in two years. Atkinson was never the fighter Regan was. She did hold the title last year, but in losing the title, she has lost seven of her last eight. She fights Rhoda in the November PPV so you can probably add another loss to that record. She and Regan have fought once with Atkinson winning. Regan needs to win this fight or she will probably be fighting on Front Street Asylum cards the rest of her career. Regan will avoid that. Regan by a KO
KENDRICK/PORTMAN Kendrick held the title last year. Since then she has lost her last three and management seemed to have forgotten she is in the stable. She hasn’t had a fight since March. That now changes from one extreme to the other. She fights Henstridge on the November PPV. Then she fights Roberts on the Doll House card on December 7th. This will make her third bout in fourteen days. She has lost her last three, all by sixth round KOs. Portman is a member of the Hall Of Fame and has held the flyweight title ten times. She is now 37 and age and the number of bouts seems to be taking their toll. She has lost five of her last six. The two have fought once before with Portman being the winner. To me, this is a 50/50 fight. I will take a chance on Kendrick to win
KOSARIN/ROBBIE I think Robbie is an average fighter who has a winning record. I don’t think she is a title threat type. She enters the ring this time with a 3-4 record. Kosarin, on the other hand is shaping up to be a title threat. She is 8-4 this year with one her losses being the upset loss to Theron, who is a lightweight. She beat Ratajkowski on the October PPV. This should be a good bout, but Kosarin will win
STRAHOVSKI/YUSTMAN I just hate it when two of my favorites face each other. This is a must win fight for Yvonne. I had her ranked at nine in my last rankings despite her losing her last four, three to top ten lightweights. The other loss was to Righetti in a catch weight bout. Yvonne simply cannot afford another loss. She has a bout with the seldom seen Heigl on the November PPV, which she should win but that bout is pretty much of a gimme, Yustman has a bout with Dawson on the November card, a bout she should also win. I had Yustman ranked at ten as she is 4-2 for the year after losing in the lightweight tournament. The two have fought three times with Strahovski winning two. In an extremely rare circumstance, all three fights ended in a decision, which is virtually unheard of now. Sorry Odette, I have to go with the blonde.
