Our reporter sits in The Great Room at The Manor watching basketball and sipping cold beverages with Poindexter Del Crunchy and the Man In The Hat.
Reporter: "So, guys, what did you think of Tess' article about the fact that there are fewer decisions in the FCBA nowadays?"
Pointy: "Well written and well researched. Typical Tess."
Man In The Hat: "Agreed."
Reporter: "OK, what I MEANT was, any opinions as to why?"
Pointy: "More than one factor, I'd imagine. I haven't really thought about it much."
Man In The Hat: "I'm with the Big Man. Haven't spent a lot of time with the statistics and I think there are lots of moving parts here. I mean, why do teams pass more in the NFL today than they did 20 years ago?"
Reporter: "I don't know..."
Man In The Hat: "Right. Now, EVERYONE knows why they throw more today than 40-some years ago. The rules back then, in the 70s, made passing a lot harder. But, the rules today aren't much different from the 90s. Teams, however, still pass more. Lots of reasons for that. Lots of factors converging to make passing more attractive."
Reporter: "What factors are combining to create more knockouts?"
Man In The Hat: "Well, a big one is more girls are TRYING for knockouts. Just as thinking in the NFL and football in general needed to change for teams to begin throwing more, thinking in the FCBA changed and that's helped increase knockouts."
Reporter: "Why is that? Why are more girls going for knockouts?"
Pointy: "Reason varies by the girl, I'm sure, but the biggest factor is, that's the way to assure you WIN. You never really KNOW where you are on the cards. I mean, you think you do, and I suppose you're pretty sure of being right if you're dominating the fight. But, in close fights?"
Man In The Hat: "Exactly. You've got a one or two point fight, you're holding your breath when the decision is announced. Because, there are always round that can go either way. And, if the other girl gets one or two you figured YOU got? You aren't gonna like the announcement."
Pointy: "Leave the other girl on the CANVAS, however..."
Reporter: "And, you don't have to worry."
Man In The Hat: "You do not. Now. Let's watch some ball, shall we?"
