Our reporter and his blonde companion sit watching football at Bazz with Britney Spears, Cassandra Lynn Scerbo, Poindexter Del Crunchy, and the Man In The Hat.
Reporter: "So, Wiz, how serious is this talk about you doing JMD?"
Man In The Hat: "It's talk. That's what it is."
Reporter: "And YOU mentioned it, so..."
Britney: "You have to understand, Smackey, that we talk about all kinds of stuff all the time at Front Street. That's how Wiz runs the stable. We're always exploring options..."
Reporter: "And JMD came up as an option, since you're getting out of the welterweight title picture..."
Pointy: "TEMPorarily. Wizardo has ASSURED me that this state of affairs will be TEMPORARY..."
Britney: "That's why it came up, yes. And, we've discussed it. We've also discussed lots of other things, as we always do."
Tess: "Does that include replacements for Stewart?"
Cassie (rolling her eyes): "Who didn't see THAT question coming?"
Man In The Hat: "Allow ME to take that one. As I've stated previously many times, we always maintain a short list of fighters we might like to bring in should we have an opening. This list has to be kept current, for obvious reasons. Girls are signed and released, stables go under, leaving their members to become free agents. Stuff changes all the time. So, we're constantly discussing prospects we might bring in in the event of an opening."
Tess: "I've heard that there's been a focus on flyweight prospects in the days since Stewart lost to Watson..."
Man In The Hat: "Again, we are constantly keeping an eye on the indie ranks at all weights. We want to make sure we have a good handle on who's out there. It's that kind of intelligence that's enabled us to bring in girls like Bennet, Utgaard, King, and others. It's important to keep on top of things so that you can move quickly when you need to move. And, that's what we're doing."
Tess: "Do you NEED to move? You, yourself said that it wouldn't be good if Stewart showed you she couldn't win big fights. Has she done that?"
Man In The Hat: "I did not mention Kristen's name. I simply said that 'you' do not want to get me thinking that 'you' can't win big fights..."
Tess: "You said that in response to a question about Stewart/Watson..."
Man In The Hat: "I don't dispute that. But. This is a sentiment that applies to EVERY fighter in the stable. You aren't gonna go in there against good fighters and win every time. Doesn't happen. But. You have to get your SHARE of those fights. If you don't, well. Then, we have problems."
Reporter: "I can remember you saying, several times about several different fighters, that they'd get more chances. But, eventually, some ran OUT of chances..."
Cassie: "Uncle Wiz is NOT replacing Kristen. She's won a TON of fights for Front Street and she's been his top flyweight for several years. So, she lost to Watson. A LOT of girls have lost to Watson. Right, Uncle Wiz?"
Man In The Hat: "Look, Cassandra Lynn, I just HAD this conversation with Britney. I don't want to have it with you, too..."
Cassie: "Uncle WIZ!"
Man In The Hat (sighing): "Look. We like Kristen a LOT here. This is a girl who started from the ground UP at Front Street. She went from a girl nobody thought would be anything but a jobber to the top ten. And she's been with us a long time, signed on here less than four months after we formed the stable. She's our longest tenured fighter. And, she's still just 28. She's got the talent. She gave Hudgens hell three times and damn near took the title from her. We love smart fighters, and she's sharp as a tack..."
Britney: "And, as I pointed out when Wiz and I had our conversation, Watson is a pretty good example of why you don't give up on a talent like Kristen. Tech brought her to the U.S. and she struggled. Then Hawkeye signed her and she struggled some more. Didn't fight for a year and a half. HISC released her and she was indie for a year and a half. SIA picked her up and she struggled some more. At the end of last year, she was 11-18 career. Then VIXENs got her at the beginning of this year and she's broken through in a big way, won ten of eleven and become what YOU, Wiz, always said she could be..."
Cassie: "And, don't DENY it, Uncle Wiz. You've ALWAYS been a big Watson fan..."
Britney: "When the talent is THERE it WILL come through. And Kristen HAS the talent."
Man In The Hat: "Kristen broke through a long time ago. Problem is, her last three fights against top ten girls, fights that could have led to a title shot if she'd won, she lost all three..."
Britney: "She's lost SEVEN fights career and has FORTY wins."
Cassie: "FORTY!"
Pointy: "All right you two, stop ganging up on poor Wizardo. Let's change the subject. Tess. Were you over in Japan looking for a TAPE?"
Tess (laughing): "No, I was covering the fights."
Pointy: "Well, I'm sure McCarthy will be happy to hear that..."
Man In The Hat: "I'm not sure WHY. Since she claims there was no FIGHT and therefore no TAPE."
Cassie (quietly): "Exactly. So, she has NOTHING to worry about, does she, Uncle Wiz?"
Man In The Hat: "Nothing at all, Cassandra Lynn. Nothing at all."
Reporter: "So, Wiz, how serious is this talk about you doing JMD?"
