Cassandra Lynn Scerbo, Bernard Alejandro Hay and Theresa Valmore are sitting at a table to the rear of the Manor dining room. They are enjoying a pot of coffee and a plate of Danish pastries Tess sweet talked the chef into giving her.
Cassie: “You all got anything special planned for the week?”
Tess: “No just the usual. home tonight, Boxing workout tomorrow, Martial arts Tuesday and back here late Wednesday night. I have breakfast meeting with Charlize on Thursday
Smackey: “I haven’t been by some of the stables in a long time. I think I might drop in on a couple”
Cassie: “Come by Bazz. I will get you set up”
Smackey: “Great. It’s a deal”
Cassie: “I won’t ask you Tess and you know why”
Tess: “Yes I know why. To tell the truth, there are not many places that would welcome me.”
Smackey: “ If you could be nicer and not so confrontational maybe you would be. You need to stop telling managers their fighters suck and they are taking easy fights.”
Cassie: “Look where you shouldn’t go. You can’t get within miles of Chimera. You are essentially barred from Bazz. The Dollhouse is probably off limits. They wouldn’t be too welcome at The Latin Union and the Lioness Club is a no go. Ultimate is probably not happy with your last comments and of course there is a faction at Front Street that thinks you are a real bytch. You have even taken some shots at the Commissioner which were not justified”
Smackey: “There seems to be the general perception you are bad news”
Tess: “It goes with the territory”
Cassie: “You need to take lessons from the Wiz. He always praises other fighters. He never has anything bad to say about them”.
Tess: “I know. If new fighter comes on board or relatively new fighter wins a big fight, he will say he thought about signing her or she was on his short list. Either, he has about a thousand short lists or one that is very, very long. I realize that he does it sometimes because his members will be fighting one of them and he doesn’t want to give them any bulletin board material to use against Front Street. I don’t have that problem”
Smackey: “Have you forgotten about the brawl with Chimera”
Tess; “Not exactly, but a bunch of them learned not to mess with me”
Cassie: “Do you realize how lucky you are that the Wiz likes you and puts up with your bad attitude towards Front Street scheduling?”
Tess: “Yes I am well aware of how fortunate I am. Now can we just talk about something else”
Smackey: “What do you think of how your Cardinals did this year?”
Tess: “Can we just talk about something else”
