TESS VALMORE
This was one the best mini PPVs in FCBA history. Six bouts featured five top ten fighters, one current champion and nine former champions.
The opening bout was between Rousey and Nolin. As you know, I have had problems with Chimera and Rousey. As for Nolin, Tractorpull and I have been long time critics because of her dirty fighting. As for comment about me being Charlize’s “pet” Yes we are friends, but I am hardly her pet. Oh yeah, there was a fight. Nolin’s fouling didn’t work. She didn’t finish the sixth, much to my delight
The Rhoda/Decker fight was one of the big fights of the night and produced the biggest result. In my rankings, I had Rhoda at five with Decker not in the top ten because of inactivity. Decker’s seventh round KO of Rhoda is going to shake up the top ten rankings. Yes, I said, I thought Decker would be better off at lightweight, so I eat a little crow. I have had it before
I think Kloss put the final nail in Gemma Atkinson’s coffin. Kloss’s KO sent Atkinson to her eight straight loss. I think she has now moved into cannon fodder territory. No top fighter has anything to gain by fighting her. leaving her as a target for newbies, who want to add a name to their resume
Ferguson beating Brook was no surprise and further strengthens my opinion that Brook should have never been allowed the lightweight tournament. Brook got flattened, but the point is, this was Brook’s ninth fight of the year in the BBU and FCBA and every one of them has been at welter
Krsmanovic’s nightmare year continued as Upton KOed her in seven. She now has lost six of her last seven and the top ten is now just a dream. After losing the last three, it was probably a bad decision by management to send her against Upton
Regan’s bout against Righetti was another disaster for Bazz. Their once best fighter, Regan, has now lost five of her last seven. I wonder where Bazz would be without the support of Front Street. As for Righetti. whether she is the current champ are not, she remains the most dependable of the welters
