TESS VALMORE
I have always enjoyed the Vix cards and they have usually been hard to predict. This card, not quite so much. I think the outcomes of a couple of bouts are obvious, but then there are always upsets
McNAMARA/L. COLLINS This is a curious matchup Collins come is with a 4-1 record for the year and is ranked as the number four flyweight by Boxing World. I have forgotten who McNamara is. I see from the archives that her one fight occurred in July of last year, when she lost to Zara Larsson, who I have also forgotten who she is. I think the rumors are true. This is a tune up match. Why else would she take a match like this in which she has nothing to gain by winning, but a whole lot to lose. Collins won’t lose. She wins by a KO
LEE/KIM I think it is well known that I am not a fan of wrestlers in the FCBA. Lee got in the FCBA and in her eight fights, she has won six. Kim, in her 15 year FCBA career, has had a grand total of four fights, one of which was at JMD. She has had one fight this year and she lost it to A.J. Lee. History repeats. Lee by a KO
AGDAL/ALD ALDRIDGE Agdal has all the advantages. She is bigger, younger, has more experience and a much better record. Aldridge has a 2-2 record for the year. In her last FCBA appearance, she won her bout by TKOing her opponent in six. That opponent was none other than Agdal. That was a huge upset. Can Aldridge do it again? I don’t think so. Agdal gets even with a KO
ALBA/M.FOX This is another bout in which I can’t figure out why one fighter took the bout. Boxing World has Fox ranked at the number one flyweight contender. Where is Alba? Way down at 143 in the bantams. Fox has had an amazing run winning twenty of her last twenty-one. Alba on the other hand has lost ten straight with her last win being back in 2014. Alba may have a size advantage, but it isn’t going to help as she goes down to her eleventh straight loss.
BECKINSALE/DORMER Beckinsale, at 45, is more active this year than previous three years. She is 2-2 for 2018. Beckinsale is a candidate for the title of the “Best Bantam Never To Hold a Title” She had four title bouts and lost them all. Dormer comes into this fight with a 1-1 record for the year, but she has lost six of her last seven. I am going to take a chance on Dormer. Her losses were for the most part to good fighters. Besides, she is blonde
