TESS VALMORE
While Tractorpull tries to predict every card, we do not comment on every card. While some PPV’s present very good and entertaining bouts between seldom seen or unmanaged fighters, the results seldom have an immediate impact.
YUSTMAN/LOPILATO This was a bigger fight for Lopilato than it was for Yustman. The kind of bout that can sneak up and cause an upset. A win by Lopilato would have catapulted her up into the top twenty. For Yustman, it was just another day. A win was virtually meaningless, but a loss could be catastrophic. It was a competitive fight for the first four rounds, but Yustman took control in the fifth and won the bout by a KO in the sixth
ROHRBACH/KURKOVA This was interesting because it was a welter bout between two lightweights. Rohrbach is in the top ten lightweights while Kurkova is way down the list. Does this signal the possibility of either moving to welter where the depth of talent is less than lightweight? Rohrbach has tested the welter waters before with no luck. After this win, will she try again?
EMMA WATSON/S.GOMEZ Watson continued on her quest for a title fight by winning her eighth in a row by beating Gomez, who is a tough opponent. The champion won’t be able to ignore her for long
FERGUSON/DECKER This was the big fight of the night and the result was even bigger. Decker did not appear in the Tractorpull rankings because of inactivity, while Ferguson was ranked at three. Boxing World had Ferguson at two and Decker down at seventeen. Decker’s win over Ferguson should shoot into the top ten, although a title bout is doubtful since she lost to Upton earlier this year. For Ferguson, not much damage done. She will drop a slot or two. Will Ferguson go back to JMDD she has a 4-0 record for the year against a 1-2 conventional record?
